Joira is a really slow general, it is easily to be crushed by beatdown deck. Only blightsteel and two Eldrazi dudes worth the four-turns waiting. These are the only big creatures I run in my current joira deck. I think stax engine(like winter orb and so on) should be included. They
can buy four turns for joira.
You need to speed up your deck somwhow. Less creatures and more focused win conditions. A friend of mine has around 20 counterspellls and tons of bounce. in build of Jhoira. Inkwell Levithan, Blightsteel, Ulamog are all the win conditions you need. Ensaring Bridge/Glacial Chasm is amazing for red/blue.
Joira is really nasty with mass board wipe like Obliterate, Apocalypse, Jokahulps, etc. He also plays Evacuation, Sunder, and all untap lands spells. My friend plays this in order to have 1-2 creatures left on the board swinging at everyone while we still have to put lands into play.
dudes, I'll update that list when I get to it. and no, I don't have ANY kind of problem with beatdown. I've added counterspells/mana ramps since then and yeah, emmy is banned.
also, screw STAX. who do you take me for, some kind of no-fun-allowed crackhead?

[CARD]
paradox haze[/CARD]: dead card most of the time. general dependent, dead draw lategame. next.
Mana drain: i'd rather take my girlfriend out to an expensive sushi place. not putting 150$ on a piece of cardboard, thats just sad.
copy enchantments: see this as being dead a lot. no good MD targets, or in the meta.
jhoira's timebug: used to run it, cut it for more counterspells
clockspinning: should be up there. I'm running it, it is amazing. killed a planeswalker with it once.
rings/monolith: infinites are frownded upon in my meta.
scepter: iffy on this one. found it to be unfun and griefer.
acquire: i'd rather have bribery. might change if artifacts.dec becomes popular
memnarch: +1. wonder why I never put that in there.
greaves: cut for space.
mirari: plenty of twincast effects already.
draining welk: no way to recur it, so no.
thanks for the feedback, anyhoo.
Stormtide leviathan just seriously needs to be in your list, completely awesome lockdown against a lot of decks and doubles as great protection
Insurrection is ususally instant win
Consecrated Sphinx usually needs only to live long enough to make it to your next turn to net you like 10 cards
Spells like treachery and time spiral that untap lands are fantastic for tapping out in response to ramp out fatties
Blightsteel Colossus says hey too. Nothing better after a board wipe than to land him and 1 hit kill everyone
