I have to agree with this. As long as you have a utility non-basic in your deck you should be running Expedition Map. I mean the ability to fetch Tolarian Academy or Academy Ruins, or whatever you need... for the same CMC cost as a Transumted Tolaria West... what is not to love?

One of my artifact staples is Vedalken Orrery. Gives you a lot of options and scares people. Wrath of God as an instant is great fun.

Declaration of Naught as a UUU counterspell is also a giggle.
Especially when it targets a general.

So, smartypantses would won't agree on anything being a staple because it doesn't fit into their crazy deck concept - what's wrong with Vedalken Orrery?

More to the point, why did it take us so long to mention?
(Oh yes ... it doesn't instantly win you the game. My bad)

Expedition Map will definitely be a staple once people realize how good it is. I run Sylvan Scrying in all of my green decks and I'll most likely be using Expedition Map in my non-green ones.

In case it wasn't already mentioned... Darksteel Ingot.

I don't know why so many people keep shouting SDT as a must play, it's just SO boring!!! I rarely play it. The only artifacts I almost always play are:
Sol Ring
Darksteel Ingot
Coalition Relic

I play these in any two+ color deck. In the mono colored decks I play the Ramos Cycle and the Diamond cycle mostly.

And now I'm, like many others, playing Expedition Map in Azami and Lim-Dul. Azami seems obvious, to find Tolarian Academy or other usefull lands. In Lim-Dul it's mostly Cabal Coffers so I can use my real tutors for non-land cards.

Other than that I don't really have artifact staples that I play a lot. It really depends on the kind of deck. Nev. Disk is one that I play a little bit more, but still not always.

SDT seriously doesn't drag out games like it is made out to be. That happens when people are constantly indecisive with the Top and continously activate it even when they've already rearranged the cards previously.
