Ahhh yes, did not see the Sen Triplets, that is a fun and cool interation and thus definitly worth it.
On Memory Jar:
You activate it on your turn after you untap. Essentially, this lets you and you alone draw 7 cards for 5 mana (already pretty much the best deal out of any card draw spell). Your opponents, outside of instants, will not be able to play anything.
Anything you dont use goes to your graveyard. As you will learn, with Sharuum as a general, having stuff in your graveyard is often better than having it in your hand. Whatever advantage your opponents get by filling your graveyard is outshined by the advantage you gain.
It is tutorable (fabricate, reshape) and recuurable. With Sharuum + Master Transmuter or VoyagerStaff/SalvagingStation or Momentary Blink + Memory Jar you are now drawing 7 cards a turn.
It is very very good, I would say in the top 5 most broken cards in ANY Sharuum deck.
Also, I really like Artificers Intuition, but you dont have some of the more $$$ 1cc artifacts. Namely Sol Ring and/or Sensei's Diving Top, so its not as good yet.
1) It allows you each turn to choose which of the Top 3 cards to draw. This ability becomes more powerful the more often you are able to shuffle your deck because it allows you to see a new top 3 each time. (Fetch lands, artificer's intuition, Fabricate, Tezzeret etc). This is in large part what makes Artificer's Intuition so good, with that one card you are able to Tutor out the Divining Top and shuffle alot (re-using intuition).
2) It is nearly unkillable. If anyone tries to remove it, you can put it on the top of your librarby in response.
3) If you really need too, you can draw and extra card this turn.
4) It has a few combos worth mentioning. Mind over Matter = {1}: discard X, draw X as many times as you want. Etherium Sculptor + Future Sight = Draw your deck Voltaic Key = {1}, Return Divinging Top to your hand: Draw a card. Clock of Omens = Return Divinging Top to your hand, Tap X artifacts: Draw X/2 cards.
To start, there are a few win conditions I prefer over Disciple of the Vault. Namely Bitter Ordeal (uncounterable) and/or Glassduct Hulk (cycling/recurrable). Each one has its advantages and disadvantages, but overall I prefer either over Disciple. Extractor Demon too. (note I personally dont advise running all of these at once).
You run alot of non-artifact permanents, I would cut almost all of them.
The 1 mana or less artifact "theme" if you want to call it that is very strong. Namely:
Salvaging Station
Aritficer's Inuition
all the good 1 cost artifacts.
Voyager Staff (ties in with the 1cc theme) and Momentary Blink are very strong.
Frantic Search for mana ramp and card draw.
Since I find I tap out alot on my own turn, and my friends play some brutal anti-artifact spells, Pact of Negation has played very well for me. I suppose Force of Will would to, but I have never tried it.
Master Transmuter, most powerful creature in the deck, run it. God help us if she was legendary.
I tried Enigma Sphinx, I didn't really like it YMMV.
could you explain to me the bitter ordeal combo? because it wont work with sharuum/steel. the ordeal will never get to be played since that combo never ends. bitter ordeal isnt an instant. not too mention that its a group game so the combo of destorying a bunch of stuff then milling wont work when you have 3 other people playing with 99 card decks.
also i know that there arent many small artifacts in my deck. i tried taking a different route with it. a ton of search fo thin the deck then bring big artifacts out that are hard to deal with.
Pretty fun deck to play, never really seems to put me as an early target. Sharuum, Mindslaver, Master Transmuter, and 11 mana makes for an unhappy opponent! Working on the manabase, my eventual goal is to be singleton with lands as well as other stuff.
I'll probably add something like a darksteel forge and possibly a couple of better draw spells (FoF, TFK, etc..) just to tune it a bit. Pretty happy with how it plays at the moment though.
Oh, I forgot to mention that my group doesn't really like (read: disallows) infinite combos. If I was playing in a strong competitive group I'd toss in Disciple, and the Gravestorm card (forgot its name), and probably something along the lines of Glassdust Hulk and Lightning Greaves to protect it.

Fair enough! I'm guessing your going to go the beaters route then.
Might want to look for a Master of Etherium.. this also goes great with Mycosynth Lattice.
One of my favorate things to do is use Entomb to throw Darksteel Forge into the graveyard and bring it back with Sharuum, followed by Mycosynth Lattice.
Another good creature for you if your focusing on beaters is Scarecrone and Darksteel Colossus would be good too. Filigree Angel can also be a tremendous amount of fun.
Some utility cards you might like
Voyager Staff, and Momentary Blink these can be used with any creatures with ETB or LTB abilities to to get more uses out of them.
I would include Thopter Foundry + Sword of the Meek. It is alot of fun, just watch out for these cards that go infinite with it: Clock of Omens, Time Sieve.
It is a resilient (recurrable with sharuum) and fun 2 card combo that wont draw your opponents hate.

I do not see a problem with counter magic, i play 8 in my deck, but it seems to me that you are giving up utility for counterspells. Now, you need counterspells to protect your combos, but you can't win if you don't see them. I would prefer more draw / tutor and mana ramp than you have and give up some of the counters.
Also, I don't see many good targets to get good effects out of Sharuum. I might consider adding some more.
Lastly; Why bother with time sieve if the only way to use it thopter foundry? I mean, it's great, but you're limiting yourself to basically only 1 way to use it, and you need 3 cards to do so.

The reason I'm running a large number of counterspells is purely due to the 3 other decks in my playgroup running Blue, each has between 8-20 counterspells... ;(
God how I miss my old deck... Im going to do a little Bump action before I re tune it into V4. This new deck will be what I run in MWS. I even have a Commander build for MODO also in the works.
V3 looks really good, very close to my 1v1 sharuum list. Ill look over it more closely when im not so hung over.
A word about sword-thopters vs scuplting steel FOR 1V1!
Steel - Expensive, having to cast sharuum (6 mana minimum) and have her in play to combo out is a huge mana hurdle. FRAGILE, dieing to creature removal and graveyard hate sucks.
Sword - the thing to realize is that in 1v1, foundry + sword is very strong with just the pair, where as my play experience with them in multi was very weak. Essentially what im saying is that it is essentially a 2 card 'combo' that rewards you for all your tutoring right then, with an OPTIONAL win the game right now piece. RESILIENT, doesnt die to creature or graveyard hate (re-trigger sword in response to relic of projenitus ability). Also, it is a half self recurring interaction, making re-assembly post disruption easy too.
Just thought I would give my 2 cents
I like your approach of MTS, ill have to ponder that some more. My Sharuum list has gone from focused control, to essentially a mana ramp deck with a smattering of control. I think my threat density is a little low atm.
Hurky's Recall - whats that for?
No Duress - Thoughtsieze ? I guess it depends on how much 1v1/multi you play.
Arena of the Ancients - testing this atm, its narrow, but is an artifact Prison Term for Roflellos, Arcum, Zur etc etc
Null Brooch - again a 1v1 card, but a soft lock that can help get your win cons the distance. Great with Key or clock of omens.
Clock of Omens - a bad mana ramp card on its own, but another combo piece with thopter + sword + any artifact that taps for (2).
Thanks Ill have the 4th Version up tommorow afternoon. I made a few cuts largely cause I dont have my entire card base here in Vegas with me but it works alittle better this way.
Steel is not in the deck as a combo piece LOL Its just a tool in the toolbox actually. I use that more often than not copying a large creature for 3 mana. Or some kind of Ramp. Like having 2 Guilded Lotus in play is pretty huge. The closest ill come to comboing with good ol Sculpting Steel is with Master Transmuter.
I agree with the Sword/Thopter being good I was actually the first person to stick up for it before it became Extended tech ^^ This is actually happening wayyyy too much for my own comfort lol
Thanks MTS is actually really effective in EDH and its actually a concept I came up with for dealing with a small handicap I had with my sideboard. I used to have a really onsided sideboard in V1 that consisted of mostly diffrent combos to throw in. That got stale cause I never used other combos which made my sideboard useless when I needed it. In V2 I had a sideboard to deal with threats so I added in Tech for certain generals specifically. This worked out pretty good but when subbing in 1 card just to deal with a general seemed like a waste of a sideboard as well. With V3 I addressed the weaknesses of the deck and had a sideboard with spot removal for almost every kind of spell I could use to make it resilient in the first 3 turns (Counters and Spot Removal) With this new deck I dont have a sideboard prepared because I havent been playing much so I just focused on making the deck a bit more efficient so the MTS can kind of just play itself through most games. Not the most consistent Vs certain generals who make really strong turn 1 and 2 plays but its fun and very good.
At the time I was playing the Recall because it seemed pretty good. Instant speed Artifact board wiping. It has saved me plenty of times when people wipe my board as well and sometimes EOT picking up Sharuum and discarding something like Sphinx Summoner then casting Sharuum again and getting more creatures is pretty strong.
No Duress or Thoughtseize because the main focus of this deck in a nutshell is to play solitare. I tried to make it so durable and strong most of the time you just play on autopilot and win. Worrying about something in someones hand when it doesnt affect you seems like it would hurt the efficiency.
The last three cards are interesting cards but I tried to include cards that work alone and force a reaction. Arena of the Ancients is definately a card I am interested in though. Probably a nice card in the sideboard
That guys list is the one who Inspired me to build Arcum when I had one. His is really well built and I can tell hes been playing him for a long time. I think most good decks have been built, tested and played at least 40+ games. Ive been running Sharuum for 2 years now. My deck is extremely resilient and does well against all the other generals that put you on a clock in 1v1 (Rofellos, Zur, etc) & most Arcum decks. That one on the other hand, that particular deck it would be a toss up. I would most certainly have to have a sideboard that could deal with him. Id have to be able to address all of his strengths early game and exploit the late game weakness. I wouldnt be too worried about winter orb and locking up my lands because most of my creatures fly. Plus I always make a lot of Artifact Mana. I also would most likely have to go combo off on him at some point before he does. Like this kind of game would easily go into turn 7 before either one of us secured a lead. I would most likely win because I have enough creatures to put him on a serious clock and his only removal he has is Mind Over Matter, 3 Counterspells and Duplicant. Memnarch could become a problem for my deck if he can get him out fast enough so hed have to Tinker Planar Portal early and fish for Memnarch for me to really be worried. Luck for me his deck is built around Winter Orb. It really does depend on who gets the better draw and who goes first honestly. Other Arcum decks on the other hand yes my deck wins a lot. My deck is actually a bit confusing to people that havent played with it before but if you want you can AIM or like Skype me and I can tell you about it. Actually I think im going to Primer my deck lol I might build a sideboard and do something like his Primer. Good luck!

Lastly; Why bother with time sieve if the only way to use it thopter foundry? I mean, it's great, but you're limiting yourself to basically only 1 way to use it, and you need 3 cards to do so.
Please note I only play multiplayer games with my mates, right now our meta games is Mono-blue (Azumi), UWB(20+ Counterspells), U/R (Jhoria), Mono White (Mageta the Lion) and 5C Combo (Child of Alara).
The reason I'm running a large number of counterspells is purely due to the 3 other decks in my playgroup running Blue, each has between 8-20 counterspells... ;(

Thopter Foundry combo imo is weak in multilayer, just because Foudry + Sword do so little on their own (in multi). I do like it in duels however.

A word about sword-thopters vs scuplting steel FOR 1V1!
Steel - Expensive, having to cast sharuum (6 mana minimum) and have her in play to combo out is a huge mana hurdle. FRAGILE, dieing to creature removal and graveyard hate sucks.
Sword - the thing to realize is that in 1v1, foundry + sword is very strong with just the pair, where as my play experience with them in multi was very weak. Essentially what im saying is that it is essentially a 2 card 'combo' that rewards you for all your tutoring right then, with an OPTIONAL win the game right now piece. RESILIENT, doesnt die to creature or graveyard hate (re-trigger sword in response to relic of projenitus ability). Also, it is a half self recurring interaction, making re-assembly post disruption easy too.

I like your approach of MTS, ill have to ponder that some more. My Sharuum list has gone from focused control, to essentially a mana ramp deck with a smattering of control. I think my threat density is a little low atm.
Hurky's Recall - whats that for?
No Duress - Thoughtsieze ? I guess it depends on how much 1v1/multi you play.
Arena of the Ancients - testing this atm, its narrow, but is an artifact Prison Term for Roflellos, Arcum, Zur etc etc
Null Brooch - again a 1v1 card, but a soft lock that can help get your win cons the distance. Great with Key or clock of omens.
Clock of Omens - a bad mana ramp card on its own, but another combo piece with thopter + sword + any artifact that taps for (2).
Steel is not in the deck as a combo piece LOL Its just a tool in the toolbox actually. I use that more often than not copying a large creature for 3 mana. Or some kind of Ramp. Like having 2 Guilded Lotus in play is pretty huge. The closest ill come to comboing with good ol Sculpting Steel is with Master Transmuter.
I agree with the Sword/Thopter being good I was actually the first person to stick up for it before it became Extended tech ^^ This is actually happening wayyyy too much for my own comfort lol
Thanks MTS is actually really effective in EDH and its actually a concept I came up with for dealing with a small handicap I had with my sideboard. I used to have a really onsided sideboard in V1 that consisted of mostly diffrent combos to throw in. That got stale cause I never used other combos which made my sideboard useless when I needed it. In V2 I had a sideboard to deal with threats so I added in Tech for certain generals specifically. This worked out pretty good but when subbing in 1 card just to deal with a general seemed like a waste of a sideboard as well. With V3 I addressed the weaknesses of the deck and had a sideboard with spot removal for almost every kind of spell I could use to make it resilient in the first 3 turns (Counters and Spot Removal) With this new deck I dont have a sideboard prepared because I havent been playing much so I just focused on making the deck a bit more efficient so the MTS can kind of just play itself through most games. Not the most consistent Vs certain generals who make really strong turn 1 and 2 plays but its fun and very good.
At the time I was playing the Recall because it seemed pretty good. Instant speed Artifact board wiping. It has saved me plenty of times when people wipe my board as well and sometimes EOT picking up Sharuum and discarding something like Sphinx Summoner then casting Sharuum again and getting more creatures is pretty strong.
No Duress or Thoughtseize because the main focus of this deck in a nutshell is to play solitare. I tried to make it so durable and strong most of the time you just play on autopilot and win. Worrying about something in someones hand when it doesnt affect you seems like it would hurt the efficiency.
The last three cards are interesting cards but I tried to include cards that work alone and force a reaction. Arena of the Ancients is definately a card I am interested in though. Probably a nice card in the sideboard

That guys list is the one who Inspired me to build Arcum when I had one. His is really well built and I can tell hes been playing him for a long time. I think most good decks have been built, tested and played at least 40+ games. Ive been running Sharuum for 2 years now. My deck is extremely resilient and does well against all the other generals that put you on a clock in 1v1 (Rofellos, Zur, etc) & most Arcum decks. That one on the other hand, that particular deck it would be a toss up. I would most certainly have to have a sideboard that could deal with him. Id have to be able to address all of his strengths early game and exploit the late game weakness. I wouldnt be too worried about winter orb and locking up my lands because most of my creatures fly. Plus I always make a lot of Artifact Mana. I also would most likely have to go combo off on him at some point before he does. Like this kind of game would easily go into turn 7 before either one of us secured a lead. I would most likely win because I have enough creatures to put him on a serious clock and his only removal he has is Mind Over Matter, 3 Counterspells and Duplicant. Memnarch could become a problem for my deck if he can get him out fast enough so hed have to Tinker Planar Portal early and fish for Memnarch for me to really be worried. Luck for me his deck is built around Winter Orb. It really does depend on who gets the better draw and who goes first honestly. Other Arcum decks on the other hand yes my deck wins a lot. My deck is actually a bit confusing to people that havent played with it before but if you want you can AIM or like Skype me and I can tell you about it. Actually I think im going to Primer my deck lol I might build a sideboard and do something like his Primer. Good luck!
