While I do strongly support Competitive EDH, I also believe one shouldn't bring competitive decks to casual games.
I play Erayo in tournaments against the whole gauntlet (Zur, Rofellos, Azami, Arcum etc...), but I would feel like a total douche bringing Erayo to a casual game. As a result I have my Teneb, (Timmy!!!) Reanimator deck.

My quote was meant for the guy you were quoting, Elsyium. I actually agreed with your post almost entirely.

The other problem with this, is that it would force the Casual players and the Competitive Players to once again share forum space, which I was trying to prevent by separating the forum by "Casual" and "Competitive" decks. The reason I had the forum separated the way I did was to enable discussion of the more competitive decks to not take precedence over the casual discussion, and likewise the casual discussion does not super impose itself on the competitive discussions. This is definitely a more organized change. When I'm at the old forums, I would not be able to find decks that appealed to me. Rather, I had to click on a lot of threads I don't want to see to find something.
Now, all discussion is in the main forum, and specific decklists are in the sub-forums. This is a good trend since EDH is picking up in popularity and deserves a forum organization much like the other forums on MTGS (e.g. Standard, Legacy, etc which are broken down in a similar manner as well). |

After rethinking this, I really do like it.
I think it will make it easier to focus on the deck creators intent, which is really important. |

![]() Casual highlander is pretty big in the Layton area but its competitive scene is more or less nonexistant.

If the person posting a decklist wants help, they should have a responsibility to explain their intention or purpose in the post. Perhaps there should just be guidelines/suggestions, but it's the poster's loss not to. For adding decks to the database, requirements and criteria are fine. Quote:

Also, instituting a template or criteria to have a deck posted in the database would ensure that things are clearly laid out and more useful to readers. I want the forum to serve readers and the format in the best way possible. I like that the format is expanding and that different people get different things out of it. But splintering it up, to clean it up is not the way. |

currently there is a suggestion to change the names of the two sub forums so that instead of being the competitive and casual sub forums they are instead the "Proven" and "Unproven" sub forums. If this occurs, one of two possibilities for limiting how decks get categorized as proven will be utilized.
Either way we go about this it will probably still result in headaches for someone somewhere down the line. At the very least it will result in the headache for the person who ends up having to move all the threads to their appropriate sub forums (which at the current time is me).
