Just to update everyone, there has been a lot more interest in this than expected, but instead of the tournament being this coming weekend, the man who owns the building we are going to rent can not make it town, we are going to have this in the upcoming weeks before states. The man is going to give me two weeks notice before he comes dwon, so I am able to inform everyone in a timely manner. I have all the product and additonal product. Right now, I have at least 100 people who are interested, so the tournament will definetly happen. The prizes will go up, right now with one hundred people it looks like 1.5 boxes to top 8, with a case going to the winner. Additionally, there will be larger prizes for the top 16. The entry fee will still be 25$, and I will go ahead and post the location we are renting. Sorry for the short notice about the change, and look forward to seeing everyone there. The event will start at 11:00, we will be doing deck registration, at 10:00 am. Additionally, if there is interest we will be running side events, here is a link for the mapquest to the location(hope the link works, 1st time posting link).
Two weeks from this Saturday we are looking to run a NON SANCTIONED tournament on Hilton Head Island. We are trying t get clientel and maybe stir up an interest in Magic or 40k, and open a game shop. The only thing is to run the tournament I need at least 35 people. The entry fee right now us 25 dollars, but is subject to chnage based on how many replies I get on this forum, or how many people show up. The entry fee will not go up though. Here's the prize payout all prizes are in Zendikar)1st Case 2nd box 3rd box 4th box 5th 8 packs 6th 8 packs 7th 8 packs 8th 8 packs The format is standard, and will be swiss, rounds varying on number in attendance. The event will start at 12:00 on that Saturday, but the event location is not final as of now. Like I said this is subject to change and prizes will probally go up. If your interested though please post hre so I know how many I have. Last edited by legacy dude 345 : 11-11-2009 at 06:57 PM. Reason: Update information |

You need to post time the event starts, where the event is, and the telephone # of the place hosting the event. How do you expect people to come if you dont let them know where its at?

I'm assuming that since his name is "legacy dude 345" that the format is Legacy.

Myself and several other people from Charleston would be willing to go to this, even on short notice, if we got some updated information. Location, any changes, etc.

i live in columbia and i have about 15 peeps that i can bring with me. but like every one else is saying without a confirmed date and place you are really not making any headway in problem, you just seem to be causing yourself a bigger problem by not having any additional information on the subject. if we coulod have some info i would be glad to confirm a group of people that would be willing to show up

Yeah, i'm definitely for this but we need that info.
Definite Date, Time, Location, Contacts of any sort and if we there will be a judge for the event with some validity behind him. That's my only concern with it being Unsanctioned because i personally wouldn't want a ruling based on who's side is arguing the loudest. Please get that out to us as Soon as possible and we'll post the details on our forum (nearly representative of the greater SC community magic wise, Charleston/Columbia atleast, tappedoutgames.freeforums.org) Also, say you meet your goal of 35 people at $25 a head but exceed it by a good 10 people, that's another $250 bucks, How much of that would you plan on Pocketing/how much would you reinvest into the prize pool (possibly increasing 5-8th or increasing to 16th place) Not to be a pain in the butt, just questions. |

Yes... time, location. Assuming that you give that, then you know you'll get people from the Savannah/Pooler area.

Yes, the link isn't there. Also, could you at least try to get it sanctioned? With as large an expected turnout that you have, having it sanctioned (even at 8k) could attract more people and help with rules enforcement. There are a lot of sketchy people in SC that will cheat should any opportunity arise.

Copy & paste the URL after you're done pulling up the address on Mapquest. Simple and elegant. As it stands, this is getting sketchier and sketchier by the day.
