Default Spelweaver Helix infinite turns

Random idea came into my head. Combine Spellweaver Helix with Time Warp and any card with retrace ex. Raven's Crime. What do you think? Playable or not?

I'd rather use a spell with buyback, much more reliable than retrace.

Reclaim sounds good. Wait, I'm thinking of something else. It's recollect. Anyway, with 2, It's a guaranteed infinite.

Mystic Speculation, the cheapest buyback cost, also on color...

Now, something is needed to dump both spells into the graveyard... Gifts Ungiven could be an option, if we already have the Hellix and another Speculation in hand...

It'll be cool coming up with a list... I'll give it a try...

Yeah this was a deck back in the day using Spellweaver Helix with Crush of Wurms + Chatter of the Squirrel or Cabal Therapy to get 5-6 6/6's in play. But onto the new versions of the deck. B/G with Raven's Crime and Life from the Loam. You don't need to play blue as you can just use discard cards on yourself to get the Time Warp in the g/y. I even seen someone working on a B/W deck using Helix w/ RC and Storm Herd the dude had 60 1/1 tokens and the guy had no cards in hand. That's game pretty much. And b/w is more defensive.

???

The strategy already exists in Legacy you know? Anyway this is what you want:

Spellweaver Hellix targeting Time Warp + Retrace
Spellweaver Hellix targeting Time Warp + Dredge with Gaea's Blessing(timeshifted, so don't tell me it's illegal)

Anyway, this might be the skeleton you're gonna want to build:

Main combo
3 Time Warp
4 Spellweaver Hellix

Dredge Package
4 Darkblast
2 Life from the Loam
2 Gaea's Blessing

Retrace Package
4 Flame Jab
4 Raven's Crime

As for the mana base, I think that 4 Forbidden Orchard is necessary to produce default targets for both Darkblast and Flame Jab.

Anyway, the card I like better with Panoptic Mirror is Savor the moment... yes... you won't get another untap step again, but who cares when one has about 30-40 turns ahead to play around the drawback (early harvest, maybe; planeswalkers, definitely)... now, since it only cost 3, it allows to keep more mana untapped to protect the mirror...

Well, actually, Flamejab could be pointed at the opponent, so the orchard would be necessary regarding the DarkblastAnyway, nice suggestion on the skeleton to build a deck around... yet I guess I'm going to try the buyback build (no many mana requirements... even viable MU).

My sketch of the deck:

Deck
Lands
4x Scrying Sheets
20x Snow-Covered Island

Combo Parts

4x Spellweaver Helix
4x Time Warp
1x Time Stretch
4x Mystic Speculation
2x Oona's Grace

Support
4x Thirst for Knowledge
4x Rune Snag
4x Negate
1x Reminisce
4x Repeal

Win Conditions

3x Jace Beleren
1x Random Dude
1x Random non-creature Spell
No yet decided on the win-cons, apart from Jace which is also in there for utility. I'm not sure if it might be worth adding acceleration... personally, i think blue it's rather weak on its own it better go off fast, in the other hand, I really hate devoting the entire deck to mana acceleration... I'd rather add a second color (w/b) which may offer ways to survive against aggro and some answers againts other combo decks (either hand disruption from black or silence from white)...

Anyway...

O.B.

I had a deck that did this a long time ago. Keep in Mind I actually got this off ....once:

Memory Crystal+Memory Crystal+Spellweaver Helix+Blatant Thievery(in grave via hard cast)+Ashnod's Alter+Bog Initiate+Lab Rats (in grave)+Lab Rats

that's funny, an article on the wizards website has this exact idea and it comes with a decklist.

Problem with this is that it loses to graveyard hate directed at dredge. Why not just play dredge?
