The deck is designed to be fun in multiplayer. It doesn't want to dominate the board entirely, but rather sit and build board position until you do a lot of things at once.
How to Play the Deck:
The playstyle is fairly straightforward:
a) Build Mana
b) Use utility creatures when necessary to keep board position while setting up combos and tap / untap strings
c) Cast Merieke Ri Berit, protecting her with the suite of Counterspells
d) Proceed to gain control of and destroy various creatures, saving the best creature on-board for last so you can best utilize it.
e) Use the various other "Steal" spells to get the best permanents on-board
It's not the most competetive deck, but for flavor I focused almost entirely on abusing (or copying) Merieke's ability. It's decently fun to play, although when piloted incorrectly you WILL garner a lot of hate. People don't want you to steal and kill their creatures for the entire game, and if you do that you'll be hated out. Rather, staying under the radar and then exploding in the late-game seems to be the best strategy (not to mention the least frustrating for your friends).
I've been wanting to build a Merieke deck for a while because it looks like a lot of fun. One card that I wanted to use was Pemmin's Aura as it can actually protect whomever is wearing it.
Another thing I had considered, and wonder if you'd thought about, was the idea of expanding on the "must attack" function of Norrit. With cards such as Royal Assassin, Maddening Imp and Oracle En-Vec, you could kill a lot of creatures by tapping them down. I doubt this would be any sort of improvement over just using Merieke, but to me it seems like a lot of fun synergy to exploit.

Good call on Pemmin's Aura!! My MWS has a tendency to hide 1 card in every deck I make, and I think that was it, I'll be sure to add it back in!!
I've found it's a little too difficult to properly utilize the "Destroy target tapped creature" effects, as almost all of my interactions focus on untapping rather than tapping.
