This is where the throwdowns will take place (Anyone remember the Rude Awakening discussion last year?) as well as the posting for voting.
This is a resource to be used in as many ways as possible. I originally had the idea on my drive into work to help myself and my friends who were new to the Cube determine which cards are the best to be picked early (read: have decks build around them). There are the cards that we've all used in other formats that were absolute houses that are probably complete rubbish in the Cube (Anyone actually run Arcbound Ravager in their Cube?). The concept here is that the experienced and inexperienced alike share their thoughts and ideas on what cards are most worthy of being taken first. Power level, castability, splashability and core strength (when I say "core strength", I refer to "cards that decks can be built around").
Last year, we learned that there are cards that are better than others. We also learned of cards that we should have in our Cubes that may not even be there. Personally, I don't care WHAT we learn, as long as we all learn something.
ANY AND ALL CARDS ARE OPEN TO BE VOTED ON.
This includes Unglued, Portal sets, etc. If you truly believe it to be one of the Top 20 cards you would take at Pack 1, Pick 1 -- then place it accordingly.
An example of voting would look like this (Yes, these were my actual votes for Green last year):
Your top card will have 20 points, 2nd will have 19 and so on. The scores will be totaled, then divided by the number of voters to give it an average score. That average score is then rounded to the nearest tenth. That is the composite. The highest composite will be the #1 card.
Things to bear in mind for voting this year:
* Last years Top 20's can be found Right Here.
* Since last year's PR's, M10 (and it's rule changes), Zendikar and Worldwake have all been released.
Voting will open on Monday and Thursday afternoons. Monday votings will close Thursday morning, Thursday votings will close the following Monday morning. I reserve the right to keep voting open, based completely on participation. To be open, I'm looking for a minimum for 10 voters for each group. The more, the merrier.

Some are keeping it the same card and some are keeping them separate, any consensus on what we should do?
Geddon and Ravages of War are the same. Wrath and DoJ aren't.
Players can assume that the power-level of Geddon and RoW are the same, so you don't need to vote for 'em twice. If you want Both Wrath and DoJ to make the top 20, you need to vote for both of 'em.
1. Armageddon
2. Balance
3. Wrath of God
4. Day of Judgment
5. Elspeth, Knight Errant
6. Pristine Angel
7. Akroma's Vengeance
8. Swords to Plowshares
9. Path to Exile
10. Land Tax
11. Catastrophe
12. Martial Coup
13. Baneslayer Angel
14. Exalted Angel
15. Decree of Justice
16. Mother of Runes
17. Ajani Goldmane
18. Faith's Fetters
19. Oblivion Ring
20. Yosei
Picks of note:
Pristine Angel is sure to be the one that gets the most disagreement, but I absolutely love it. 4/4 flying Pro-Everything (basically) is pretty danged good. It's not the creature I hate seeing against me the most, but it's pretty close. And as you can guess I was the person who ranked it first in the PRE rankings.
No moat. My cube just doesn't have enough aggro support, and most of the games we play are aggro unfriendly to begin with (multiplayer planechase). And when every game is long control battles pretty much everyone is gonna be dropping big fliers and or other win conditions. It isn't a onesided show stopper like in some drafts. So while I'd definitely add it to my cube if I had it, it wouldn't be a really high pick.
Land Tax. Never played it. I know it's awesome, but have no feeling how awesome. It'd prolly move up if I got a chance to use it. Looks like I really need to get one. If anyone feels like sending me one, I'd be very appreciative
There might be some other stuff on the list that doesn't match with others, but those felt like the big three.
Pristine Angel doesn't have protection from everything if you want to attack with him. If you want to attack through a flier on the other site of the table, you have to cast another spell to untap it and your opponent can use this opportunity to cast Terror or something else to kill your 6 drop. Only having a P/T of 4 is also substandard for a 6 mana creature.
So far I would say, that it is worse than Calciderm, which combines a bigger body and shroud with a lower mana cost even if it dies after 3 attacks and lacks evasion it is the higher pick for me, unless I need another finisher for my control deck.
I have seen Day of Judgment ranked far down from the original Wrath of God on some lists or not at all (ep. +bondafong), but when I have drafted with it, the regeneration part didn't matter most of the time.
If I had some extra slots, I would give them to Ajani Goldmane, Yosei, the Morning Star and Martial Coup.
My rating on Moat might not be accurate, because I never have played with that card (and also am not planing to add it to my cube).
I feel kind of bad ranking Catastrophe only #6, but clearing the board T3 or T4 with one of the Wraths is just so good against some decks.
Totally agree with you on the wrath/day of judgment thing. I feel kind of bad I have to list them separately, as they're nearly identical. And unless I'm missing something, in my cube they're totally identical. And I agree on the catastrophe thing. It's clearly a very very good card. But I tend to find that I'd almost rather have a card that does one thing really well then to things ok. If I saw a pack with Armageddon, Wrath, and Catastrophe, there's no way I'm taking catastrophe.
You don't play with any regenerate creatures? No masticore? Troll Ascetic? River Boa? If you do, *** has the slight edge over DoJ.
I won't take a Catastrophe over an Argamgeddon, but I will take it over a Wrath or DoJ. Especially early. No matter if I draft a deck that want's a geddon OR wrath after that... the Catastrophe will make the cut.
These votes aren't for the "most powerful cards", they're for the best P1P1 picks, and I think Catastrophe is better in that situation because you don't know what direction the draft will go after that.
This is quite hard to do. I did not include cards I do not play in my cube, namely Moat that would probably make my list but I have no idea where I would put it, not having played with it and all.
I like control.
Karmic Guide and Reveillark are quite new additions to my cube. While they shine in Winstondraft, they've never seen a regular draft in my cube. Next sunday I'll probably rank them higher, idk.
That's what you should do. Don't vote for something simply for the sake of voting for it. Only include cards you've got experience with on your lists.
Well I don't have Moat in my cube, but I've played with and against Moat often enough that I feel comfortable with how high I would pick it in cube. That said, I mostly agree with you. It's going to be very difficult for me to rate Power 9 as I have rarely come in contact with those cards and have never personally played them.
This is a small moment of victory for us. We were pushing to get the Cube Rankings stickied last year, and within the first 3 posts, we got it. Thanks DerBK!!
Geddon and Ravages of War are the same. Wrath and DoJ aren't.

This.
Ravages and 'Geddon are essentially the same card, much like Wildfire and Burning of Xinye will get coupled together when we vote for Red.
Wrath of God and Day of Judgment are two different cards, even if the difference is "Creatures cannot regenerate." As wtwlf123 eluded to, Masticore, Troll Ascetic, Spiritmonger and their ilk are light years better when your opponent is holding a DoJ instead of *** (or light years worse, if you're facing them and YOU'RE holding the DoJ).
This is quite hard to do. I did not include cards I do not play in my cube, namely Moat that would probably make my list but I have no idea where I would put it, not having played with it and all.
Perfect. If you don't run the card, haven't never played against it or just don't know about it -- do NOT vote for it. Well done.

I have Masticore. So that's one. I'd happily add Troll Ascetic if get my hands on one, but don't own any. And it's the kind of card that I specifically don't like, so I'm not gonna go out of my way to get one. And River Boa just doesn't seem good enough.
As for Catastrophe vs Wrath, I'd rather take a wrath. Then I know I've got really good tool for white control. The difference in added flexibility is not worth as much to me as the difference in speed is.
Edit: Also as far as not voting things you haven't played, doesn't that skew the composite rankings much worse. It's not like leaving something out of your list is the same thing as not voting. It's the same as voting 0. I don't know exactly how good land tax is, so I wouldn't take it over SoPa, but I feel it's good enough that it has to be in my list. Following that criteria, things like power might not make the lists because many of us have never played them. But any power ranking of blue cube cards that left Ancestral Recall off has no merit.

So... ya. Picture your opponent having a Masticore out. Which of these two cards would you rather have? Or say it's your Masticore... would you rather have your opponent be holding a Wrath of God or a Day of Judgment? *** and DoJ are not the same card.
And River Boa isn't good enough? Hrm...

Wrath is better in control, and Geddon is better in aggro. When it's P1P1, you don't really know yet, right? That's where the flexibility is important. Catastrophe is a great card. A few players in my playgroup rank it higher than I do... and one player puts it above Balance. We're not ranking "the best card" we're ranking the best early draft pick. It's two different things.

If you honestly have no idea where the card would go, you're better off not voting for it than just guessing. All the players that do have experience with the cards will be enough to make the voting accurate.
Plus, you said yourself that you DO know how good Land Tax is... meaning you should vote on it. If you DON'T know, you can't vote fairly, can you? Are you suggesting that only people with extensive experience with every card in Magic should be allowed to vote? Or that people should guess where cards go simply by reading them? I certainly don't.

I'm pretty sure I wouldn't ever grab the last 3 P1P1 but all the rest seem at least reasonable depending on the pack.
2 Armageddon / Ravages of War
3 Moat
4 Land Tax
5 Catastrophe
6 Elspeth, Knight-Errant
7 Wrath of God
8 Day of Judgment
9 Swords to Plowshares
10 Path to Exile
11 Baneslayer Angel
12 Exalted Angel
13 Faith's Fetters
14 Oblivion Ring
15 Cloudgoat Ranger
16 Martial Coup
17 Decree of Justice
18 Reveillark
19 Karmic Guide
20 Akroma's Vengeance
I like control.
Karmic Guide and Reveillark are quite new additions to my cube. While they shine in Winstondraft, they've never seen a regular draft in my cube. Next sunday I'll probably rank them higher, idk.
Cheers,

This is a small moment of victory for us. We were pushing to get the Cube Rankings stickied last year, and within the first 3 posts, we got it. Thanks DerBK!!
Perfect. If you don't run the card, haven't never played against it or just don't know about it -- do NOT vote for it. Well done.
See above. Good stuff, rant.
Good turn out so far, right? I'm loving the early discussion!!
