Just curious. What are the reasons why some place Library over Sol Ring? Everyone seems to agree that those are the two best cards in cube, but there's some difference concerning which is truly best. Personally, I find Sol Ring to be more consistent than LoA, sealing the deal.

Neither is particularly stellar in the late game, and if I had to choose which one to have in my opening hand, it'd be Library. In my opinion, nothing beats 2 cards per turn... not even being two turns ahead.
But really the difference comes down to subtleties. Both if those cards are insane. If I had to say which one is the best, the answer is both.

I'll speak from straight experience here...
Both cards win games. But that early Library spells certain doom for your opponent. It creates such an immense gap in card advantage that it really is illegal (I had one game with Library and Garruk in play -- I outdrew my opponent by 24 cards that game). Sol Ring puts you a turn ahead in the early game which can never go understated.
My personal opinion is that there is far more than one way to get an extra colorless mana per turn (Moxen, Talisman, Signets) in the first 1-3 turns of a game. It is damn near impossible to find free card drawing, at any time -- let alone the early game.
Another is if you take the number of ways to destroy an artifact, I'm sure they outnumber the ways to destroy a land -- so the odds (in my Cube anyways, where I do lean towards some LD) that the Library sticks around longer than the Sol Ring are better as well.

I've (rarely) lost games with either card. The only time I lost with a T1 Library opening was against an opponent's T1 Sol Ring opening, and I was on the draw. That was the only time that the CA was outpaced by the tempo. It takes Sol Ring quality tempo to outpace the CA machine that is LoA.
I've a new found respect for Simic Sky Swallower. I got housed by that guy 2 weeks ago.
I've yet to be on the receiving end of a Leviathan, Deso Angel or Nicol Bolas yet. Although I did flip a 2nd turn Leviathan quite a few weeks ago off of land, land, mox -> Tinker.

Tinker is a card that I've found new respect for lately. I was questioning it's worth not only on here, but to my cube mates. The very day I mentioned it, my buddy dropped a turn three DSC on me two games in a row. Since then, if I see Tinker, I ☺☺☺☺in' take it.
I can certainly see that aspect of LoA and I wouldn't say that a turn 1 Sol Ring beats a turn 1 LoA. However, I've always been glad to get that Sol Ring at any stage in game while LoA tends to be colorless land producer later. Do you feel that the sheer power LoA has at the beginning makes up for a worse performance latter? Or is LoA still good latter in the game (and I'm just playing sub par)? I can definetly agree LoA is broken good though.

I'm always happy to have Sol Ring too. The card is nuts. But late in the game, they're both kinda lackluster. I may not need the ramp anymore, and I may not be able to draw cards anymore. They're obviously better in the early stages of the game.

Library can still be good in the later stages of the game when combined with draw spells, and draw-7 spells and stuff. However, just like Sol Ring, the advantages are for more noticeable in the early stages of the game where both cards perform at their peaks.

I've been keeping track in my head. I've never lost a game in which I've resolved/played the following cards:
Library of Alexandria
Sulfuric Vortex
Ob Nixilis, the Fallen
Rafiq of the Many
Unfortunately for me -- Sol Ring isn't on that list.
So for me, Library gets the #1 spot.
