This basically started as a pile that I tossed together for no other reason than that I hadn't played blue and white in a while. The Auguries were something I had picked up a while back with the intent to build something with them, and were forgotten for some reason or other. After a few tweaks, and the addition of a couple of big nasty angels and a certain Eldrazi gentleman, it's turned into a pretty solid deck that's a hell of a lot of fun to play. The Auguries rack up some serious life, especially when Emrakul shows up at the top of the library with a Scroll Rack in play. Scroll it back and forth so that it gets drawn when an Augury hits, and play it once there's enough mana. Gideon was something I cracked out of a pack after this had been played for a while; he was an immediate addition and has been incredibly effective since.
There's one at the door, at the gate to damnation...
