New updated deck, traded for some cards, and just replaced some cards after playing some games, against my friends' deck, a Thraximundar deck, and a Nicol Bolas both casual competitive like mine. Both are UBR, so unfortunately I didn't get to play against a wide variety of decks, but they definitely showed of the weaknesses of the deck. There are still a couple cards I want to get like Urza's Rage. But I would like some suggestions on how to improve the deck. Also, if someone could shed light on how this deck would do, or how I should play, if I were to go to a store and encounter a Tier 1 deck like Clique, Azami, Rofellos, etc. I don't expect to compete with a fully "powered" (mana vault, library, academy, etc) but I would like a basic strategy so I can hold my own.
So without further ado, here's the most updated list:
This is my second EDH deck after my Grand Arbiter Augustin IV, decklist to be posted later, but I'm want it to be a big spell deck, instead of big creatures so things like Myojin and Pelakka Wurm may come out eventually. Bloodbraid Elf isn't spectacular with all the X spells, but it's still good. My list is semi-budget, and most cards I don't have are more because of lack of availibility then a budget. But let me know what I could add to make this deck faster, more consistent and more resilient. Also, this deck currently cannot kill Ulamog, so a suggestion for that would be good cause I hate not having an answer to something.
Regal Force and Avenger of Zendikar should go in for some of the smaller creatures like Masked Admirers and Bloodbraid Elf. Yes, they both give you card advantage, but to take Admirers as example you get to draw a card and get a pretty neglible 3/2. Bloodbraid might even be only a 3/2 hasty in a format where the big dudes roam. Force and Avenger is perfect to be tutored up with Tooth and Nail and similar, are good targets for Kiki-Jiki, and are good on their own.
I would also add more mana ramp spells as they can be conspired late, and they can't be removed like the artifact ones. Hunting Wilds and Skyshroud Claim are good, and Mwonvuli Acid-Moss is good if you want to play it. Regrowth, Revive and Restock are all better than Fossil Find.
A piece of advice is that you should be on the lookout for spells that can do the job, as Wort and Mirari can double them.
This is my list for reference, that lost in the semis in the EDH tourney here on mtgsalvation.

Avenger of Zendikar is currently on the top of my list to trade for, and I'm not sure how good Regal Force will be since eventually I want the creatures in my deck to do something to help me play my game changing spells, but I suppose it is amazing with Avenger. I'm currently on the fence about keeping Tooth and Nail in for the long term, if I do what creatures should I include to tutor up.

Hunting Wilds I have added, but haven't updated the list since it was only one card, and Mwonvuli Acid-Moss, now that I think about it, along with Frenzied Tilling, are probably good options. Skyshroud Claim I'll look into getting also. The regrowth spells I'm trying to get the better ones, but just using Fossil Find in the meantime, since any of these kinds of spells conspired is card advantage.
Also, besides these, if I get Nostalgic Dreams, and I conspire it, can I get the cards back that I discarded, with either copy?

Besides upgrading spells, like Disintegrate to Banfire, what are other spells I can get to copy. Also, is fork necessary, or are Wild Ricochet and Reiterate enough?
Hephlathio's deck is really quite good. I've been running a copy almost identical to his since I saw it tested, and it is definitely explosive.

Hey I just played my friend's Nicol Bolas's EDH deck yesterday, and in half the games he got out Sorin, put me at ten and then in the next couple turns burned me out before I was able to set up my big spells. What can I do counter this strategy? I was thinking life-gain or a Bind-type ability. Has anyone had success with one of these, and if so what specific cards did you use? Or am I missing a way to fight this play?
On Regal Force, he will draw a minimum of 1 card, and with only Wort the number is 4. Card draw is very important, and you should try to fit in as much as you can. Regarding Sorin and burn, you might try to add in more acceleration. Apart from trying to race him, I don't think it's a good idea to put in a few hate cards. The odds you are drawing them when you need them are slim, and otherwise they will be dead.
I don't see how it could hurt. Worst case scenario, Valakut is a land that comes into play tapped, and Scapeshift is awesome anyway. It's a great way to keep from drawing lands late game, and helps you get the lands you abuse (if you have any, I forgot to check.) I think it's worth testing.
Hi there! I'd recommend Silklash Spider over Arashi, the Sky Asunder. I wouldn't say that one is strictly better over the other but Arashi's ability to cast an instant speed, near-uncounterable pseudo-Hurricane seems great!

What does everyone think of adding one Valakut and one Scapeshift so I can have a win that way?
