![]() With big black titans and other big titans running about it seems a like a god sideboard removal. also covers all the pro guys...so why hasn't this guy been discussed yet? 4 is a heavy cost but when permission control is becoming more common we have to realize not all games are gonna end in the first 4-5 turns especially post board |

I ran these 3x last night in my SB. I never got to use them to actually exile a creature, but they were useful in one of my matches. I was playing Polymorph and the guy new if he polymorphed into Emrakul I would just exile it haha, so it kept him from being able to do anything. Unfortunately we hit time limit and had a draw.

In a standard format with cheap removal like Path, this will be used little. After rotation maybe... But right now, its to slow even for control. DoJ is faster and it nukes everything.
However, I am going to try it out in my colorless build, just for kicks and giggles. |

I think he is referring to using it in RDW, which is a move that a lot of people are trying out.

Doh! Sorry, didn't even relize I was still in RDW part of the forums.
In that case I agree that it may be a good side board where extra burn wouldn't cut it. |

I think it is way too slow. Of course it may become a tech meta choice.

i dont think this card is needed against decks like polymorph or ramp where our MU is very good already, but the real question is if it is better than Combust against U/W Control.
Combust: pros: kills baneslayer (if they play it, many new lists dont) and wall of omens in only 2 mana, which fits our curve nicely if we go turn 1 guide, turn 2/3 combust their wall. also, not so bad in multiples since as i wrote it can kill wall of omens early and baneslayer late. cons: doesnt touch kor firewalker or any of the titans (blue or white ones), only good in the U/W MU (and maybe in mythic if people still play it) Brittle Effigy: pros: great solution to kor firewalker and any of the titans (and baneslayer too), and also very good against polymorph. cons: slow, and thus horrible at multiples because it only comes online on turn 4 and by then wall of omens has done enough damage. tbh i dont realy know what the right card is, but i think 3 brittle effigy in my sideboard are going to be better, because the 8 tap lands (teetering peaks and smoldering spires) realy help the wall of omens problem. my new sideboard is going to be:

It's the most versatile removal that RDW can ever run. I swear, this card works wonders against almost anything, from UW Control, to Polymorph, Mythic Bant/Naya, NLB, anything that has fatties, anything. Really, this has got to be one of the most functional card for RDW post-M11. It's clunky, yes, but it's not a dead draw either late game.
