Uranium Mox ![]() Artifact , Put a charge counter on Uranium Mox: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool.At the beginning of your end step, you lose 1 life for each charge counter on Uranium Mox. Legerdemain Turbine ![]() Artifact , , Put a card in your hand on the bottom of your library: Draw two cards. , Put a card in your hand on the bottom of your library: Untap Legerdemain Turbine.Trip Shaft ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Defender When Trip Shaft blocks a creature, destroy that creature. Daggershot Machine ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Whenever Daggershot Machine attacks and isn't blocked, it deals 2 damage to target creature or player. When Daggershot Machine becomes blocked by a creature, it deals 5 damage to that creature. Well Digger ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Whenever Well Digger attacks and isn't blocked, put a flood counter on target land defending player controls. That land is an Island for as long as it has a flood counter on it. When Well Digger leaves the battlefield, remove that counter. , : Target creature or Contraption you control gains Islandwalk until end of turn.Edit: I switched the mana cost and activation cost. It also unfloods Islands when it leaves the battlefield. It didn't do that before. Worldspin Gyro ![]() Artifact Whenever Worldspin Gyro becomes tapped, tap all other permanents. Worldspin Gyro doesn't untap during your next untap step. Pickpocket Armature ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Pickpocket Armature can only be blocked by equipped creatures. Whenever a creature blocks or becomes blocked by Pickpocket Armature, gain control of target equipment attached to that creature and unattach it. When Pickpocket Armature attacks and isn't blocked, you may attach target Equipment to target creature. Wobbling Firebomb ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Wobbling Firebomb enters the battlefield tapped. When Wobbling Firebomb blocks or becomes blocked, it deals 5 damage to each creature and each player. Destroy all Contraptions.

uranium mox is broken.. The life loss is irrelevant (and actually fairly minor) if you're going to kill your opponent this turn anyway.

trip shaft - super cool! I like your take on contraptions. This is awesome.
The other contraptions are all cool. Wobbling Firebomb is a fantastic name. worldspin gyro seems like it could be abused and may not be fun to play against, but it looks well-designed too.

The Turbine seems really powerful. It basically amounts to "

The contraptions are a very, very cool design.
Although the turbine is way undercosted. Compared to jayemdae tome, colorless card draw should cost much more than this.

Well digger is far too strong. Since it's not a creature it doesn't have summoning cickness and you can start turning your opponents land into islands and colorscrewing them on turn 2. Maybe make the lands islands in addition to their other types?

much better than that -- you also get to cycle 1 of your cards for free. and that's only the first ability. the second ability is just icing on the cake.

I made some changes to Well Digger. I want to still be able to have color screw as a goal, but I don't want it to be too easy.
I'm glad you like the Contraption mechanic. I don't know how they would be assembled exactly... but they don't need to be necessarily. As for Legerdemain Turbine, I wanted a zero-sum filter engine or a card draw enabler. If you feel it's too good, I think I could go so far as to up the activation costs by 1 apiece. I don't want it much more expensive than that, really. I'd like a good artifact draw machine that has the minor drawback that you can't use it without a hand. Perhaps the ability should also be restricted to sorcery speed? This would make it less good and reduce comparison to JMD tome. Example: Legerdemain Engine 2 ![]() Artifact , , Put a card in your hand on the bottom of your library: If it's your turn, draw two cards. Otherwise, draw a card. , Put a card in your hand on the bottom of your library: Untap Legerdemain Engine.Does that look more pleasing? Or should it be restricted to your turn outright? Renegade Lawnmower ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Forestwalk Renegade Lawnmower attacks each turn if able. Whenever Renegade Lawnmower attacks and isn't blocked, target land defending player controls becomes a Plains until Renegade Lawnmower leaves the battlefield. When a creature blocks Renegade Lawnmower, destroy that creature. Its controller may search his or her library for a basic land card and puts it onto the battlefield tapped. Collapsing Net ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) Defender, reach Whenever Collapsing Net blocks a creature with flying, destroy that creature. Just to mirror Trip Shaft, which gets nonflying critters. The net can still block a nonflier, it just won't destroy it. Fog Bomb ![]() Artifact - Contraption (Contraptions can attack or block as though they are creatures. If a contraption blocks or becomes blocked, it is put into a graveyard.) When Fog Bomb blocks or becomes blocked by a creature, you may put a fog counter on that creature. If you do, for as long as that creature has a fog counter on it, it has, "Prevent all damage that would be dealt by this creature." Tap an untapped creature you control: Fog Bomb gains flying until end of turn.

I like puns. I enjoy your take on contraptions, it's quite interesting. And it could be made that riggers create contraption tokens with different abilities. I believe that the artifact the cycles is waaaaaaay undercosted. At very least, the first ability should be 4, since it's better than JMD, because it's a card draw AND cycling. |
