I think that those would be some good adds for this kind of deck i used to play an extended deck with isochron scepter. and i used the helix and at one time echoing truth so i think it can be very good.

you are both right i changed the deck around a bit and am liking the helix much better than the bolt, and i dropped boomerang for echoing truth. so how do yall think this deck could hold up in a local legacy tournament?

all you need to do is make sure you pack the necessary hate for the decks you think will be in the meta via sideboard and if you can do orims chant or silence on a stick then you should be able to win provided you can also produce produce a hard to deal with threat.

ya thats what i was thinking, thanks, a isochroned silence or orims every turn plus a isochroned helix seems kinda hard to over come imo, but i could be wrong.

well it will be very hard to over come but you need to make sure to you counter there echoing truth because an echoing truth to you scepter would be a kick to the balls.

I have this same deck I've been toying with for some time. I've tried trinket mage for a toolbox card with a countertop variant but here's my current and most favorite build. I use chrome mox to ramp out first turn scepters or meddling mages. Lightning Angel doubles as fuel for both a force or a mox and even ends up being my beater for the win often enough. Intuition is usualy used for an isochron scepter, academy ruins, and crucible of worlds although an occasional engineered explosives or wasteland is needed.

Meddling Mage is excellent in this deck. It can shut down so many decks and is easliy powered out first turn and is also fuel for a mox or force. The only change I might make is adding in some stifles to replace lightning bolt and echoing truth but I currently don't have any.

Deck
4 Lightning Angel
4 Meddling Mage

4 Isochron Scepter
4 Orim's Chant
4 Lightning Helix
4 Ponder
3 Swords to Plowshares
2 Lightning Bolt
1 Echoing Truth
3 Intuition
4 Force of Will
2 Engineered Explosives
1 Crucible of Worlds
4 Crome Mox
3 Flooded Strand
3 Scalding Tarn
2 Tundra
1 Volcanic Island
2 Plateau
1 Island
1 Mountain
1 Plains
1 Wasteland
1 Academy Ruins

So, you inspired me to make my own version of this. A few things to note first. I restrict myself to only cards with the new layout or Future Sight layout, which may help explain some of my card choices. I am always looking to make my own version of control decks out there for casual play, so thanks for the inspiration. On to my decklist:

Deck
2 Celestial Colonnade
4 Halimar Depths
3 Boros Garrison
3 Azorius Chancery
2 Izzet Boilerworks
1 Mountain
1 Plains
6 Island

4 Brainstorm
4 Isochron Scepter
4 Lightning Helix
4 Path to Exile
4 Muddle the Mixture
4 Peer Through Depths
1 Echoing Truth
4 Dawn Charm
1 Into the Roil
4 Orim's Chant
4 Fire/Ice

EDIT: Updated manabase. Much cheaper, adds another wincon, and helps with the digging for Scepters and instants.
EDIT2: Updates, again. Decided to foil the deck out, giving me access to Fire/Ice and Orim's Chant, updated manabase to match.
