But even more importantly, you've got every tutor in the game accessable to you, and if you want to get bidding/living death consistantly, you're going to need to use a hell of a lot more than 4.
also, conflux is powerful but it's not really necessary for what your deck wants to do imo, and it's too expensive. you really just need living death or bidding, not anything else. and wtf is chaos orb doing in there? it's illegal in edh, for one thing...

Yeah I may go that way, right now I am just going for random multicolor madness with charms/split cards. I suspect after I play it a few times I may shift to a more focused method, though I may add in some of those cards you suggested.

Yeah, but seemed like it could be fun to mess with. It will probably get swapped out for some ramp though or a different tudor.

I don't see chaos orb listed there. And it is a vindicate with a chance of miss, which happens but if you use good technique not very often. Hell I use it just cause it is plain fun. (I will note we house rule it to kill 1 card so people don't have to spread there stuff out.)

As I see it, there are basically 3 ways to use Scion in a "focused" strategy.
1. use scion as a wincon by turning him into dragons, either through beatdown or combo (i.e. niv-mizzet, the firemind + curiosity).
2. use scion to tutor dragons into your graveyard and reanimate them.
3. use scion with conspiracy to turn him into anything you want, and win with beatdown or combo that way.
I've only tried #3, but it's a really fun and crazy deck. It's not very "dragony" though, obviously, but it's definitely my favorite.
whichever you prefer, i'd focus on one of those and stick with it. if you want to do #1, focus the rest of your deck on control and recursion to reuse dragons (i.e. junktroller, reito lantern). if you want #2, do what i suggested above, lots of tutor and mass-reanimation. if you want #3, follow the link on my sig.

EDH is played with vintage legal cards, with two exceptions:
cards are legal as of their set's prerelease
Shahrazad is legal for play in EDH
chaos orb is not vintage legal. you'll notice the ante cards aren't on the edh banlist either.

Great info thanks, I am starting to really dig this deck idea. I will take a look at your deck.

Whoa, When did that happen? I actually quit magic around 2000 and came back to it 3 months ago when a friend showed me EDH decks. Chaos orb was always one of my favorite cards and everyone played with one back in the day. That is very disappointing.
On another note, do you think Tooth and Nail is worth putting into this deck?
Made the deck now that I picked up the cards, I changed it somewhat and changed the First post, please comment and make suggestions keeping in mind I am trying to make it a casual deck.
A few notes from playing the other night. Nicol Bolas is a beast. Block or lose your hand. Pretty ugly. Not sure I will keep the Ultimatums, they are spendy to cast and 7 colored mana, had a few issues with that. That said, they are power houses. Pretty happy with the deck over all, but damn to I miss having some counters and sweepers but the games where a lot more back and forth. It was just hard to catch up if I got behind to much.
I am considering adding Identity Crisis so as to not let others get as much back when I empty the yards. But I am not sure.
I really want to try out Tainted Strike and Double Cleave for some multiplayer hi-jinks along with Berserk. It just seems like you could cause some random dead players when you are not even attacking. Curious if anyone has messed with these much?
It seems with all five colors I should be able to come up with something better then Mind's eye for drawing. Any suggestions would be great.
Yeah Rhystic Study seems like a good call. Though maybe it is just my play group, but I swear they always seem to pay it when I used it before in a deck.
I play A scion edh as well and one thing you must have with a dragon deck is Elvish Piper also Belbe's PortalDragon Arch and urzas incubater for helping to bring out earlier without having to sac a creature in order to reanimate it. Prismatic Omen is fantastic with a 5 color deck. even though you took out Vorash the hunter i just want to let you know, turning scion into him then hitting for the +6+6 then on the next turn turning scion into Dragon Tyrant will kill any player outright following the rule of your general doing 20 damage to a player, even though i am sure there are easier ways to make something like that happen it does leave a nice +6+6 on your general.
I do not have my deck handy because I am at work but ill try to remember other things I have in it, Also I will be modifing my deck as per a couple of other cards I have seen in this thread. Oh and I Would suggest Sarkhan Vol andSarkhan the mad to add to your nico
Since it looks like you're going for the "dump dragons in the grave and then reanimate them all" strategy,
If you are going this route a very good combo is Hell's Caretaker to sacrafice bladewing the risen and then return bladewing to play bringing another dragon with him, repeat as you like to field all of the dragons in your graveyard to play, which with you having scion could very well be alot.
Yeah I liked Vorash but Scion tends to die alot so the counters rarely every stuck around, I found it more useful to transform into something with haste or Nicol Bolas. My meta is full of general tucking effects, it makes having a deck focused on him pretty rough.
Hell's Caretaker and Elvish Piper would be great, but I am doing a dragon tribal to intentionally make my deck worse. Same reason I am not running Jace or Vess as Planeswalkers. Same reason there are no counters/sweepers. I would add Sarkhan's but I actually don't have either of them, though perhaps I will look into getting them.
I may add a dragon Arch though. It is on theme and seems useful. Prismatic Omen is pretty solid though I am lucky enough to have a set of Revised Duels and fetchs so mana is rarely an issue.
I really want to work back in Lightning Greaves. But I am not sure what to drop, perhaps another dragon.
Well you may not like to but mana reflection can be pretty nasty seeing as how most dragons i see are actually and odd cost so you could drop that. maelstrom pulse in my opinion is pretty useless in edh unless you destroy something like a Mirror-Sigil Sergeantverdant eidolon is nice also and a must have would be True Conviction and since mana is hardly an issue you could always drop 1 mana to add you greaves.
Well you may not like to but mana reflection can be pretty nasty seeing as how most dragons i see are actually and odd cost so you could drop that.
I am not really following you on this, There is no mana burn anymore so having floating mana is not really an issue. And between Mana Reflection and Mirari's Wake The pump able dragons can get out of hand fast.
Hrm that maybe a good call. Though I already have a lot of spendy casting cost cards in there, I may swap out conflux or something for it. Though a resolved Conflux is basically game over.
Well first off I forgot about mana burn being gone lol, Secodn one is I was thinking there was a cheaper destroy but I havent found it, I am definatly not close to an expert, I can hardly even play now a days so sorry for the inacuracy.

Just trying to make a fun deck for aggro battles. So avoiding counters/sweepers.
Cards I am unsure of:
Slave to Bolas(in for theme atm)
Conflux
Cards I am considering:
Tainted Strike
Double Strike
Fervor
Fires of Yavimaya
The average casting costs is over 4. I am a bit worried about that. It is pretty hard to resist tossing in a Wrath of god and Damnation.

I am trying to find a spot for Lightning Greaves and perhaps a Gilded Drake or Identity Crisis. Just not sure what to cut.

How is a 3 mana to destroy any nonland card in the game useless? Killing Tokens is just bonus.
