January Altered Card Contest

Planeswalker Month

This month's theme is alter a card to add a planeswalker that was not previously featured.

— Please do not use alters that have already been posted elsewhere.

— The original card should not be a factor in deciding a winner later, so choose a card that you can do something exciting with.

— Any artistic medium is permissible, except digital.

— All other alterations are completely at the discretion of the alterer.

— This contest will close on February 4th, 2011. Good luck, everybody!

Also, please stop by the Photoshop Contest Tiebreaker and vote - the poll there is to decide on a banner for this contest.

So, the task is to paint/draw the character of a planeswalker that hasn't his own planeswalker card? If that's what we are challenged to do, it would be cool if somebody who knows the list of planeswalkers posts it here.

(I have no idea, mostly because I've never readed even one book. I still waiting for them to be traslated to spanish...

)

Sorin Markov
Nicol Bolas, Planeswalker
Chandra Nalaar
Koth of the Hammer
Garruk Wildspeaker
Nissa Revaine

And some of the other ones I know of:
Teferi
Jaya Ballard
Braids, Conjurer Adept
Yawgmoth
Rofellos
Karn

Although most of these other ones are either dead, or no longer 'walkers.

It sounds to me like it's more along the lines of the Soul's Fire or M11 Planeswalker Signature Spells approach, where the 'walker is featured in the art. . . . so we need to take a card that has no planeswaler in it, and insert one into the art of the card, correct? Or am I way off base on this month's challenge?

No, not so much.

My intent was actually to just add a walker to a card. Like a FoW with Jace in it, for example.

Characters that have had cards are fine, just don't alter Jace's Erasure with Jace...

Immersa has it right.

Trancebam-not quite all of those are planeswalkers. For example Yawgmoth was originally just a dude with no magic talents, a healer/surgeon actually that was called back to Thran where his talents manifested themselves in intelligence, cunning and manipulation. Anyways...wotc actually changed him from a planeswalker to who he was in the novel after initially creating him as a planeswalker. Confusing, yes, but....

This contest is great. I made my own planeswalker (Uhl, Lost in Darkness) up for the January art contest and I am going to tie it in to a card for this contest. Is that ok Pichoro? And I would actually like to do more then one, since I will be introducing my character I wanted to maybe do an extra card to show them a little better. Maybe Panorama two or three together. Just wanted to check first.

I'm not sure if this counts, so I'm OK if it's not suitable, but I thought it would be a fun re-imagining of Mayael. (Concept was a customer's idea).
