my store runs tournaments of edh. the prizes are: 2 packs for the last one standing, 2 packs for each person you've eliminated. what is the obvious choice? combo, so you can get all of the packs for yourself. however, it's not like the other people didn't think of this too. this is my current build of sharuum (below). notice it has a large amount of wraths and counters. this is because i want to make sure other people can't beat down on me or combo off themselves.
If you want more mass removal, I really like Oblivion Stone. You have a lot of tutors in your deck already that can grab it. If you add Academy Ruins as well, it can get nasty, haha.

maybe, i'll think about it. i feel i already have enough wraths, and the stone is quite mana-intensive.
rout will be a better choice, i'll add it as soon as i get the card.
as for mana drain, it's a little to expensive for me, but i did add it to the "should have" list.
i think i've decided against oblivion stone. it might be the wrong choice, but i feel i have enough wraths to get by with, maybe more than enough, so tutoring doesn't seem necessary. when i'm trying to combo off quick, the extensive mana hurts. sure, some of my wraths are 6, but the stone is at least 8, maybe more.
keep the suggestion coming! remember, this is not quite what i would call "budget" but i guess over $15 might be pushing it if i don't have the card already. (sorry, know that's quite sad; but if you look at the list as a whole i still wouldn't call it "budget")
made some changes! i'd love to hear reasoning for mystical tutor. i simply put it in because i saw others doing so. it seems like the only combo items it can fetch is bitter ordeal or another tutor.
Mystical can get another tutor, or it can get a wrath, or counter for combo protection.
Intuition is really good at grabbing whatever you need, and it's instant speed. Academy Ruins helps if you get stopped somehow. I also like Yawgmoth's Will for obvious reasons.
Bosium Strip is cool while you're trying to set up. Yes it's expensive, but it lets you reuse tutors, wraths, counters, and Vindicate etc.
Sphinx of the Steel Wind is really handy in holding off attackers and getting some of the early life lost, because people are going to target you, back.
thanks for feedback guys, keep em' comin! i'm going with an even more budgety version of this deck tomorrow for a tournament (still trying to acquire some cards) and i'll share how i did.

The upside of running either Oblivion Stone, or Nev's Disk, is that you then have a wipe which enlightened tutor can fetch.
Along with Drift of Phantasms, Fabricate, Tezzeret, and Transmute Artifact.
What is Winds of Wrath? Link not working and google is no help.
It's probably Winds of Rath, which seems suboptimal at best, in this deck.
Yeah, Rout would be a better choice.

Yeah, we're all broke.
I'm kind of annoyed that every person playing Sharuum plays almost the same exact deck now. We really need to switch it up.
(Multiplayer)
BRGKarrthus, Tyrant of Jund
WUBSharuum the Hegemon
(American 1v1)
BGSkullbriar, the Walking Grave
