This here is my casual Thrun, the Last Troll mono green control deck. It used to be a straight voltron deck and now its more mono green control. Its meant for 1v1 but has not been inclined to any 1v1 ban list. The basic idea is to ramp into thrun and equipment while simultaneously blowing up their lands. I RARELY play this deck and really only pull it out if I want to REALLY punish someone. I normally play multiple (4-5 man pods) so this is the deck I pull out if someone plays a deck I dislike.
The basic idea of the deck is to either have one of the 1-drop mana dorks or a 2cmc ramp spell in hand, so to power out a turn 3 thrun. Then the gameplan switches from voltron to mana denial mono green control. The equipment count has been dropped down and only the crucial ones remain. These crucial ones are played in between the mana denial. Usually if I am going first and get a turn 3 thrun, the opponent has 2 lands in play. If I spend the next few turns popping their lands, I take the game.
The wasteland was done by my friend, contact him if you want something altered! Also the swords alters were done by nofingers so please contact him if you're interested. Thanks!
Chord of Calling > Green Sun's Zenith (because at worst it costs two more but could be cheaper, it can find any creature instead of just green creatures, and it's an instant).
I will DEFINITELY find room for fallow earth and primal command. I am looking to trade for sylvan library and the three visits. I might run chord of calling AND green sun. Likewise when I get three visits ill probably cut one of the bigger ramps (aka explosive vegetation or far wanderings).
Duplicant is colorless creature removal that's tutorable. Gets rid of pesky things like Moat Fish.
Brutalizer Exarch helps get rid of things like Ensnaring Bridge that would otherwise ruin voltron's day. Destroying it gives them a chance to regrowth it. Tucking it is better.

Taken from the main page. Life from the Loam. You already have the cycling lands and waste/strip. Not sure it would fit but it seems a lot of people love it in various builds that have green.

Hmmm I don't know if it would be worth running. If someone sees this, could the give input? Thanks!
I know the only real removal Thrun needs to worry about is the mass kind..and this suggestion gets owned by the same thing (but hey, thrun is sorta a one trick poney anyways right?) but have you considered running creature ramp instead of spell ramp? Using elves as a base for your mana acceleration gives you early thruns just like the spell options, but can also give you a decent win condition couple with either going all in elves and playing elf aggro or combo, but also having little mana dorks + equipment can be exciting as well.
Also since we are still a ramp deck of sorts, why no Eldrazi Conscription or other such big enchants? Resolved on Thrun and its pretty much game over.
Life from the Loam is pretty good and can steal games with strip mine/wasteland early enough. I am not 100% sure it fits in Thrun or not though.

Would mana dorks be a better route than the ramp? Can someone else also give some insight? I was thinking for running life from the loam already so we will see. Also, I dont like conscription since I feel like it comes in too late :/
I happen to have a Thrun deck myself. From the looks of it, your list is quite similar to mine and you pretty much got the game plan of a Mono-Green control deck down.
The difference between your deck to mine is that my big spells are for Thrun to have on him rather than big creatures. If this deck goes into late game, I use token generator friends and use Overrun effects to finish the job (or to buff Thrun for that last bit of general damage.)
Some cards I want to talk about:
Vorinclex - How do you feel about him? I think he is a bit overkill in this deck since you aren't really trying to ramp a ton of mana for a humongous spell.

Since your also using a mana-denial strategy, Rishadan Port is really good in keeping a troublesome land tapped down. Perhaps take out the Slippery Karst.
Some other cards that are worth taking a look at: Sylvan Library, Oblivion Stone, Buried Ruin, Sylvan Scrying, Natural Order, Skyshrouds Claim, Ondu Giant (IMO better than the Granger)
On another note, I love the choice of equipment you used and disagree with other posts on putting in things like Eldrazi Conscription and Epic/Mythic Proportions because while those cards are good, they're just too expensive.

I actually have considered the port but they are hard to trade for so it may be a while. I am also trying to acquire a sylvan library. Would buried ruin really be worth it? And sylvan scrying for the land tutor, also worth it? I had skyshroud claim, explosive vegetation, etc but dropped them since they wont get me a turn 3 thrun in any way. I am swapping the granger for a llanowar elf actually.
I am going to try two 1-drop mana dorks and see if its better to run the deck that way.
The basic game plan is to drop thrun turn 3, then switch to mana denial and if i can then play equipment.
So after playing the deck some, I made some more changes. I realized the turn 1 mana dork isnt a bad deal and thus swapped the granger for llanowar elf. Then I finally picked up a grim monolith so the swap for farhaven elf was made. Slippery karst was dropped because the 2 mana cycling was a bit too much and thus it basically functioned as a CIPT forest. I cut the wickerbough elder for the creeping mold since both do essentially the same disenchant but creeping mold fits well with my mana denial control plan. Also working on pimping and altering and foiling the deck out, slowly.
Decided to drop some more of the equipment to add in some more mana denial. The strata scythe and blanchwood armor looked great on paper but weren't really all that amazing. The sundering titan should be at worst a 1 for 1 land destruction and at best a total blow out. The spine of ish sah and phyrexia's core make for a reusable 9 mana vindicate.
YES!! It's all about the Tower Above Love. That card is the real deal.
I don't like the one time pumps. The plan is for a t3 thrun, then mana denial. Usually they dont have a blocker in the way and if they do it's more than likely NOT bigger than the 4/4 thrun. Even if it is, I usually win the stall since land destruction sets them back.
A card that gets overlooked far too easily is Snake Umbra It's not as flashy as bear but it is at least a three for one if you connect at least once with it. (1 draw, 1 removal, and a second removal for the original creature). On Thrun it can get much better.
Might be too slow though, as you should be forcing your 21 through pretty quickly.

The difference between your deck to mine is that my big spells are for Thrun to have on him rather than big creatures. If this deck goes into late game, I use token generator friends and use Overrun effects to finish the job (or to buff Thrun for that last bit of general damage.)
Some cards I want to talk about:
Any of the Three-Drop mana ramp spells - Personally I don't run these. The reason being is because I rather have Thrun out on Turn 3 as much as possible. I personally run Llanowar Elves, Heart Warden, Birds of Paradise, Orochi Sustainer, Magus of the Vineyard, Devoted Druid, and so forth.
Vorinclex - How do you feel about him? I think he is a bit overkill in this deck since you aren't really trying to ramp a ton of mana for a humongous spell.
Cards I would suggest:
Bellowing Tanglewurm - Intimidate. Thrun needs to be able to smash the opponent's face in, and this guy can help out with that.
Epic Proportions, Eldrazi Conscription, and Mythic Proportions - Big finishers. Plain and simple.
Tower Above - Love this card. No one expects this thing and it gives Thrun a nice boost for a reasonable cost. Picture this as your green kill spell.
Vorrac Battlehorns - Gets Thrun to be even more of a pain for your opponent to decide who to block as some damage tramples through.
You got yourself a solid deck as it is, but go ahead and give the listed cards a shot. See how you like it.
