I am thinking that I will put in Laboratory Maniac once it comes out, but Snapcaster Mage I can't really see worth the $25 cost. Also considering getting a time spiral and force of will for this deck, but I am not sure if force truly is worth the high cost it is listed at.
Well, you are basically running every good mono blue wizard for this type of deck I can think of. Are there any specific playstyles or permanents you are having trouble dealing with? Something like Capsize could be helpful.
creatures:
I myself run a little Trinket/Treasure Mage package in my Azami deck
Trinket Mage: Sol Ring, Sensei's Divining Top, Meekstone (good for shutting down aggro), Relic of Progenitus (anti gy), Everflowing Chalice
Treasure Mage: Mindslaver (in the more competitive build), Caged Sun, Duplicant
Echo Mage, Uyo, Silent Prophet: I don't run Sigil Tracer (didn't really think of the card, as I usually only have 2-3 wizards tops on the battlefield at any one time). both the mentioned wizards are major threats on their own
Enchantments: Thought Reflection: Pretty sick with Azami and the atrocious amount of blue card draws Rhystic Study: I've always been a fan of this, especially in multiplayer
Instants and sorceries: firstly, if there's one thing my playgroup hates, it's counterspells and land destruction, and that's why my deck is thin on counterspells, and has no Sunder, so I have ample space for more zany cards! Yours looks more competitive, and therefore I don't think much needs to be changed
edit: Oh, one more thing. with Treasure Mage, comes Memnarch (wizard too, btw), which is an alternate wincon when running the Palinchron combo
Snapcaster is totally worth it if you're able to pick one up. He's bonkers, especially with Riptide Lab out.
I'm a bit confused as to what you're trying to do here - you want help making the list "tighter," does that mean you want it to be as competitive/cutthroat as possible? If so, there's certainly a lot of fat you could cut - but I'm not gonna spend time suggesting specific additions and cuts until I know for certain what exactly it is that you want (as far as advice).
I would add Diviner's Wand for sure it is a wizard so you can tap it for Azami, Patron, etc....
Plus if you add that you need Grim Monolith + Power Artifact to go infinite with the wand ability you can draw enough cards to get to your win con or Reliquary Tower and swing with a fat flying wizard.
Just play an Eldrazi. I used to run Azami until I got tired of my playgroup that was far less competitive attacking me and only me. One thing I can say about the deck is the more cheap wizards you have, the better. For instance, although Spellstutter Sprite only counters Sol Ring and some others, (without help), it's still amazing as it more than cantrips.
Hi there. Your deck looks really solid. There are only a couple of things that I'm noticing. First, where's your Patron Wizard? He's utterly awesome with Azami. Second, do you really like Ertai, Wizard Adept? The idea of a counterspell with legs is tempting, but I've always found that I'd rather use my mana for other things, in practice.
Patron wizard ended up not being worth it as he was going against azami too much. and Ertai is pretty decent and useful when your low on luck with counters

Really? I've always found Patron Wizard to be great in my Azami deck...although I run a few less counters than you, and a few more wizards. I find that having him out slows my opponents down a bit as they play more cautiously with my wizards untapped. Then, if Azami's out, I just draw the cards at the end of the opponent's turn. To each his own, I guess.

This. He's there basically as a security measure, no one says you absolutely have to use his counter ability every turn instead of drawing cards, but say if your opponent is about to boardsweep all your precious wizards or targets Azami for removal, you're going to want him on the board.
See I dont keep many wizards out so wraths tend to not effect me so much. When i am playing a lot of cards I am going for the kill, Patron wizard never seemed to pose enough of a threat for those i was facing as at most it make 3 wizards become a mana leak
Intruder Alarm combos insanely with Azami. Tap all your Wizards, draw a bunch of cards, play a Wizard, untap them all, draw more cards. Opponent plays a creature spell? Respond by tapping all your Wizards to draw cards, then they all untap when the spell resolves.
Deck is already looking pretty darn good man, not sure what all I would suggest. You already have Mind Over Matter in there, plus Ulamog..try out Temple Bell as a win con.
