Everyone is jumping on the Horde bandwagon- I am too, but instead (probably eventually will be in addition too) of zombies I want MACHINES!
Mindless iron bent on crushing mankind!
As an added benefit I think artifacts are much, much harder to fight against than most zombie based hordes. Much of which has to do with the insane tokens (9/9s and 6/12s with trample, 3/4s with flying).
I think the only token tribes that get to compete are beasts and dragons, but they don't have an entire supertype that buffs them. Machines could easily be the greatest threat to survivors.
Current Draft:
UPDATE:
Out- Eater of Days, Timesifter (Eater of Days made it too easy, and Timesifter was just a pain to deal with for playing)
In- 1 Akroma's Memorial, 2 Dimensional Breach (The breach are esp. necessary as I need more mass removal, and this plays well without making sure a comeback is impossible)
Let's build this thing! Suggestions?
Due to variations of tokens I have a few build ideas in mind that revolve around the tokens themselves:
-Myr 1/1, Thopter 1/1 Flying, Pentavite 1/1 Flying, Wasp 1/1 Flying, Hornet 1/1 Flying Haste- probably a 500 card deck with 400 tokens. Massive swarms and mostly just pump cards. Horde of super powered gnats idea.
-Golem 3/3, Golem 9/9- splicer build and generic tribal buffs.
-Wurm 1 3/3 Deathtouch, Wurm 2 3/3 Lifelink- Heavier on the lifelink which would usually create a neigh endless army that recycled the graveyard over and over.
-Gargoyle 3/4 Flying, Golem 9/9, Construct 6/12 Trample- Some super hard mode stuff here. With the 9/9s being the backbone of the tokens (as they are the least problematic) probably a 50/50 split on tokens.
How much life do the humans get to start with? With 50 card Machine decks per Human this may be impossible.
How do Lifelinking Wurms work in Horde?
It's an interesting idea but Machines think much more than Zombies.
Whose lands get destroyed by Sundering Titan (if the humans share a land type)?
What does Junk Diver retrieve?
How many Myrs is the Terminator going to tap when Myr Battlesphere attacks?
What artifact/creature is the Terminator going to choose when Duplicant or Metamorph gets played?
Just seems like too many random decisions going off.
Don't get me wrong I like the idea, but with so many of these cards that have to choose targets it kinda takes away from the Horde having autopilot. Just some concerns.

My crew and I run some pretty mean stuff so it would be fine for us. Of course tweaking to your personal tastes is required. It could be 25 or etc. the important thing to remember is that overall Artifact tokens > Zombie tokens in terms of power.
I interpreted Horde lifegain to equal 'unmilling' cards. For each point of life just place a card from the top of the graveyard to the bottom of the Horde deck.
I'd just roll a D6 early game or a D20 late game and count from top to get the 'mostly random' artifact. It is just a big time saver. You could do it fully random if you want to spend the time.

Really a lot of cards in any Horde can force off 100% autopilot. And I am ok with that.
With 150:150, you'll on average flip one token per card played. With a number of the tokens being rather small (1/1s) that seems rather un-horde like. Are you doing multiple draws for the horde or anything like that to compensate?

Good point. Maybe I'll scrap the myrs altogether and just go all golems.
And maybe a 2/3s ratio for tokens to nontokens.
How has this been playing out for you? What rules are you using?
Really, really hard. And really, really fun. I need a few more friends to probably survive more often.
As for rules:
-Due to the power of the tokens I have the tokens and the non-tokens separate. Every turn the Horde gets 3 random tokens and 1 non-token spell.
Milling damage mills 3 tokens then 1 non-token (this can get a bit tricky but it is worth it)
-Tokens from the token deck go into the graveyard as normal cards
-Life gain puts the top card from your graveyard onto the bottom of your library (tokens to token of course)
-Attacks are automatic and have haste- planeswalkers are targeted first.
- Abilities (Goblin Replica and such) are automatic and random on the PLAYERS permanents only. So it will always immediately sac to destroy a random player controlled enchantment or artifact. (elixirs activate immediately).
- Top of deck and cascade effects pull from non-token library only. (this is esp brutal with timesifter)
- Extra draws are random (coin flip) between non-token and token libraries. Only one of either (this is for power reasons)
-Retrieval cards are random (I just roll a d20 and dig that many deep for ease).
-Spawning Pit only activates IF the creature would die or be exiled.
-Filigree Angel is at the bottom of the deck to prevent wins from just waiting (the life gain will recycle most of the deck if it is cast).

It is more of a mastermind in my mind, but there are 'intelligent' zombies too. Overall if you don't feel the flavor I'd skip it.
Die roll for players.

Flavor-wise I'd always do all of them. Or you could do none (it is still strong) or you could roll a DX where X is the number of myr in play.
Random. Die roll of players permanents.

Thanks for the feedback! And good points.
