This is a deck I am in the process of constructing. I've looked through several of the Scion decks in the database and through the "hidden gems" thread for ideas. This deck is designed for multiplayer and uses a recursion theme--use the Scion to dump dragons in the graveyard, then get those dragons back on the battlefield for cheap mana.
I am building this deck on a budget--I don't expect to spend more than 75 dollars. Any of the expensive cards below (Yosei, Demonic Tutor, Thawing Glaciers) I already own. I'm definitely building the mana base on a budget. I've marked mana and dollar cost below. After the deck, I have a pretty big leftover section that might be helpful to anyone working on a Scion deck.
I have a reputation in my play group for playing obnoxious infinite combo decks, so I am looking to construct something a bit more casual (hence I am staying away from infinite combos, heavy land destruction, and discard with this build). So, yes, I know about Worldgorger dragon and skithiryx, the Blight Dragon], but I won't play with them unless the deck really needs them to stand a chance. I'm even staying away from the Aggravated Assault combo.
Here's some of the leftovers from by research process. There's a few dragons here I would like to get in the toolbox- I would especially like to fit the Intet into the toolbox so I have a card draw target. Patriarch's Bidding is another card for which I need make room.
I looked through virtually every Scion thread in the database while researching this deck. I am indebted especially to these threads:
Serpentarius' list (see also FrenchFries' reply down the page) Funkdragon's list (there's a few great responses in this thread, see particularly sidewayz.alex's recommendations)
There was another thread, I can't recall which one, that argued for including the lair lands. I decided to play the lairs over the Vivid series.
