While flipping through my card album I chanced upon dearly departed and thought it had some potential. After some brewing and testing, it hit upon me that it combos well with dual-discard effects like liliana of the veil and smallpox. Since we are going to play black, might as well throw in village cannibals. Blade splicer and doomed traveler makes for good creatures here as they are humans which leave another body behind even if they die. Without further ado, the list:
Unburial Rites fits in nicely here I think. If you're using Smallpox to discard and sacrifice creatures, then the uncommon can bring them back to fight again. Especially if you plan to use it with the recurring Human theme. Sun Titan stands out with all the low costs, your highest being 6 from Dearly Departed but that looks like you -want- it in the graveyard, but the Titan can bring everything else back, likely with a +1/+1 counter.
Here is a deck that I have been trying out. I hope that when Dark Ascension comes out I can change it up a bit and have some W/B DFC or Sorin perhaps. Advice on changes for this deck are much needed and suggestions are welcomed.
