Default [GP] Sanguine Praetor

An anonymous source gave me the text, tymth9 on AIM helped me use the Orb to guess the P/T, and pabi's photo showed me the mana cost.

Sanguine Praetor -
Creature - Avatar (R)
, Sacrifice a creature: Destroy each creature with the same converted mana cost as the sacrificed creature.
7/5

Woooo, more overcosted timmy fat!

I love the Timmy cards in this set. They sure know how to make a segment of the population feel loved.

Looks like it has a lot of potential. Hope to see its use in the future, though no doubt the cost throws most people off again.

Sacrifice a token... all the rest die!!!

Edit: The sad thing is, the ability is very interesting and cool. If it was on a cheaper body, it would have been a really nice card.

The card sucks but by looking at the fuzzy pic I think the art will be pretty cool so we might get a cool background/sig/avatar out of it at least.

wow! this is real great in limited. I think it won't be played in competitive constructed though, unless some sort of massive reanimator comes in dissention(rakdos maybe?).Thx for the info R_E!

mmm....beefy!! This could be good for Rakdos since i don't see the token problem causing much trouble in there camp. could be a fat enabler for Teysa too.

That thing is obvously casual, its way to slow for limited. But that artwork, even though its fuzzy, looks like it will be awesome. Demons with axes own.

That smells like rakdos, but they said they would represent the guild not in sets by creating monocolored cards, right?

The thing is, you have to be playing with creatures of the converted mana cost of the creatures you want to destroy. If you want to destroy all the tokens, you've got to be playing with tokens. So saying Rakdos will play with this guy because it probably won't have any tokens that'll die to the effect is silly, because if that's true, you won't have any tokens to sacrifice to make the effect happen in the first place. Notice that it doesn't say "or less".

You could throw an Ornithopter in your deck if you want to kill tokens without making any, of course...

Well, it is a timmy card, and it is fat, but I don't think it's overcosted. Besides, if you sac it to its own ability you can take out a Living Inferno. Now that's power.

When will Wizards learn that we would have been more than happy with a 1/4 for four with the same ability?

Way to look at it, man. Way to be optimistic.

This does have an awesome ability. Maybe it will show up on something a little cheaper in the Rakdos camp, as people have been suggesting.

Again, thanks for hooking us up, R_E and sources. The Salvation community rules.
