This deck is going to be for multiplayer, budget, casual, edh.
The primary theme I'm trying to incorperate is a 'deathtouch' wall of creatures, freezing my opponent from attacking; then applying 'lure' effects to force my opponent to attack. Just to mess around...
Secondary theme is to have my cards with 'creepy', but not 'grotesque' artwork, something worthy to be on the same side as the Damia, Sage of Stone...very 'Vorthos' as Blackjack68 put it.
All my decks try to adhere to these guidelines:
1) Be able to win.
2) Be mostly true to a flavor and a theme.
3) Be good against one or multiple opponents.
5) Be fun to pilot or to play against and interactive.
6) Have multiple paths to victory.
7) Have lots of cool interactions and synergy.
8) Play out differently every game to keep it fun over a long time.
9) Be streamlined and fast to play without excessive upkeep, time-consuming play or overcomplicated boardstates.
10) Integrate the Commanders abilities into the strategy at least a little, but be able to win without ever playing the commander.
Note #1: The number in front of the card will denote CMC of the creature/spell.
Note #2: Our meta plays with 40 life totals and no general damage. This obviously affects potential strategies one can have within the format.
Note #3: (ntby) = need to buy yet
Any suggestions, comments, and questions are more than welcome! Especially in regards to the cuts I should make, since I'm starting off by listing cards that simply look good.
Death-Hood Cobra? The extra cost for reach/deathtouch are a little lame, but I'm loving the snake theme.
There most certainly is a tribal mix in this build.
I strive to keep Gorgons at the top, followed closely by Treefolk. There arn't enough snakes with good abilities for me to focus on. Unfortunately Death-Hood Cobra won't be making the cut, but don't let that deter you from suggesting others.
I'm going to need to augment the blue side of the deck...

First off, is Damia enough for card draw? (I am strongly assuming no)
Second, I'm looking for 'vorthos' card draw cards/effects but the picking sure seem to be pretty thin. Any recommendations?
To date, in my deck I have: Edric, Spymaster of Trest: Probably the least vorthos card in the deck, but I can't say 'no' to its potency with deathtouch creatures crossing the board. Graveborn Muse: Has 3 zombies (including itself) and 2 effects that turn creatures into zombies to work with. A fragile Phyrexian Arena at best (my arena is in another build...) River Kelpie: With only 4 cards in my deck that generate card draw, I'm not sure if he's worth the slot....more on this later.
To date, cards that I am considering: Ohran Viper: Pseudo Deathtouch and carddraw? Fantastic. Doesn't have the 'vorthos' art, but is a snake. On my wishlist due to cost. Snake Umbra: Totem armour for a deathtouch dude. Draws cards when connects. Not bad, but is an enchantment. (and again....snake) Footbottom Feast/Gravepurge: Recur my deathtouch creatures. It's not draw, but it does grant consistancy. The later is a great deal more vorthos than the former, but both are good.
Thirdly, I'm looking for cuts, as anything I add will require something else to be removed. I find it incredibly difficult to cut items from this list as I am trying to do so based on 'vorthos' qualifiers. Which cards should get the axe, based on their power??? (say top 3-5)
Lastly, I few cards that I have comments/questions about
River Kelpie: This guy fits my 'vorthos' nerve pretty good, but I would like to get more out of him without having to depend on my opponents deckbuilds for abuse. Any recommendations of cards that are cast from or put into play from the graveyard that would niche in with my 'vorthos'ness of the deck???
Thought Gorger: This guy looks incredibly interesting. Might replace Doomgape since Damia can replace my hand quite rapidly. Obviously would work better if I could play more from my graveyard aswell. Also returns card draw to me when removed. Worth considering?
I appriciate any thoughts/comments/questions/etc that others have to offer.
