So, after looking in the commander database for a list for Ashling, the Extinguisher I was appalled to find only one there. Ashling has always been one of my favorite legends ever printed, the fact that she's a pin pointed edict on a stick is nothing to scoff at.
So, I'm going to post my own list. Keep in mind, this list right now is very rough, I'll be updating it as I go along.
Aim of the Deck:
As you can see, this is a straightforward Voltron aggro strategy. A lot of equips to power up Ashling so that she can get in the red zone. However, instead of using ones that pump a lot, I prefer the ones that give her some sort of evasion or trample. That way, I can easily snipe away a threat.
So I guess you're wondering why I'm running what I am, eh? Let's get to it:
Akroma's Memorial: A decent enough card that gives very relevant abilities to all of my dudes. I'm not sold on it yet, but it does help.
Batterskull: Need I say more?
Caged Sun: Mana doublers help this deck keep up with the competition a lot.
Darksteel Plate: Don't need our commander getting blown up by random gods, right?
Explorer's Scope: Helps us get lands into play. Mono black needs this a lot, and since its cheap to drop and equip, why not?
Fireshrieker: Ashling with double strike? Yes please!
Gauntlet of Power: Same reason as the sun.
Gilded Lotus: Mana rock, move along.
Helm of Kaldra: Haven't seen this in a game yet. Not too fond of it really.
Inquisitor's Flail: As long as Ashling is indestructible or can get around blockers, this this is sick. Otherwise, not so much.
Mana Crypt: Amazing rock that enables turn 2 Ashling.
Mox Opal: With all the artifacts in here, opal is great like another land.
Power Matrix: Nifty lil thing that gives Ashling both trample and flying. Very good.
Scroll Rack: Extra card drawing is amazing. If you don't like what you put on top, shuffle it away with a tutor/fetchland.
Sensei's Divining Top: Really shines when you can shuffle the top away.
Sol Ring: Do I need to explain?
Star Compass: Cheap mana rock. Meh, its still useful.
Swiftfoot Boots: More expensive but definitely better version of Lightning Greaves.
Mirrodin Sword Cycle: Gives Ashling protection from 2 colors each as well as a few extra abilities. These things really hurt is she's also got a fireshrieker in hand.
Sword of Vengeance: Best thing here is the trample and haste. Vigilance is of course nice also.
Thran Dynamo: Possibly the best mana rock when building mono color decks. Better than the gilded lotus in mono color, thats for sure.
Trailblazer's Boots: Basically reads "equipped creature is unblockable" 99% of the time.
Whispersilk Cloak: Can't be blocked, but the shroud is kind of...not good.
Bloodgift Demon: Phyrexian Arena on legs. Always good. Plus, he's a significantly sized, flying beater.
Crypt Rats: I put a few Pestilence type effects in here. So far, they have been doing very well, but I haven't drawn the rats yet.
Fiend of the Shadows: Can't say I really like her. The one time I drew her I didn't want to play her. Definitely need to cut her for something else.
Grave Titan: Army in a can.
Graveborn Muse: By herself she's just like Bloodgift Demon. With Grave Titan out she can draw you a lot of cards.
Greater Harvester: Honestly, when I first saw him I thought he was a smaller version of the eldrazi. But after playing him...I was glad when he got wrathed away. Voltron does not like to sac its own stuff.
Ink-Eyes: Amazing rat ninja. Ninjutsu, and herself, are horribly underused.
Massacre Wurm: I dropped him and made some one lose 14, then equipped it and beat in for the kill. I like him.
Myojin of Night's Reach: Just about any black deck I put him in it, especially if I can ramp well. Sometimes, this deck does ramp very well, and when it does the Myojin cleans up house very nicely.
Needle Specter: I must say that I'm highly impressed with this guy. He is by far better than a regular specter, since we're playing voltron. Put a quip or two on him and you're opponents will be fearing him quickly.
Nezumi Graverobber: Originally put in for anti yard tech. If you can flip him, he is insane.
Pestilence Demon: Haven't played him yet, but he seems good. Can't really state how much pestilence has helped me in a few games, so pestilence on a body seems really cool.
Ruen-Scarred Demon: 6/6 flyer that tutors. Very good dude.
Eldrazi Conscription: Haven't pulled it yet, but it can easily turn the game for you if you're in a rough spot.
Necropotence: This deck needs, NEEDS, card advantage, and this baby is the best in black for that job.
Night Dealings: I have experience with this in other builds and its always done me well.
Pestilence: Every time I've drawn it I've smiled. Keeps small dudes at bay and puts pressure on the whole table. This card is BAWS!
Phyrexian Arena: Lose a life each turn to net a card. Always good.
Geth's Verdict: Instant speed edict that makes an opponent also lose a life. Probably gonna cut it.
Tutors: Tutoring is good, so I threw a couple in.
Ambition's Cost/Ancient Craving: Card draw is great, and these buggers are good at it.
Cabal Conditioning: A great source of disruption. I once played Myojin, then a few turns later dropped this bomb. Let's say the table didn't like me very much.
Consuming Vapors: An edict that happens twice and nets you life. Pretty useful.
Damnation/Decree of Pain: Need us some sweepers. Decree also nets you cards, so that's always good.
Exsanguinate: Even though we're not abusing infi mana I thought I'd drop it in. Works good since we usually end up paying a lot of life anyway.
Ill-Gotten Gains: Disruption and triple Regrowth in black? An amazing card, just be mindful of what's in everyone's graves.
Mind Sludge: A very good source of disruption, especially late game.
Mind Twist: Another source of disruption.
Promise of Power: More ca, but this one can also net you a huge demon.
Syphon Mind: Disruption and ca in one. Much more powerful in big games.
Fetchlands/Thawing Glacier: The fetches help keep scroll rack and sensei's top fresh. Glacier does it also, and much better, as well as being able to get you lands every single other turn.
Cabal Coffers/Urborg: Mono black has to run this.
Snow-Covered Swamps/Scrying Sheets: If you're in mono colored, then you just need to be running snow lands and scrying sheets. Just trust me.
I haven't had a lot of success with the deck so far, but it's been quite fun to play with. Like I said, this is still an extremely rough list, only been playing it for a couple of days now. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Scrying Sheets sir, a great source of CA for any mono colored deck.
And yes, I often do run up against opponents who will stick a snow land on a lens, just not running it. And no, I'm not running strata scythe, in its place is Lashwrithe, which may not be as powerful, but its almost the same.

You're not running Extraplanar Lens, but you are running Strata Scythe.
Unless your entire meta runs snow-covereds, I don't see the reason for this.
