This was my very first EDH deck and the one I officially love the most! Taking on at least two opponents at the same time is very fun but be warned, Damia draws alot of hate when played well ( that pun wasn't intended.)
Any suggestions and comments are welcome! I would really love to know what you guys think!
Damia is very vulnerable on her own and you don't want her dying very often specially since she cost 7 mana to cast for a first time. Therefore, alot of spells are here to protect her from possible destruction and same goes for her army.
i find that my deck has become more of a "jerk" deck as my playgroup described it. cuz the deck is unrelenting once it gets going. like none of their creatures ever stays on the field if they even manage to cast them or any spells for that matter.
with this deck, it is very possible to have a turn 3 Damia with a very good hand like the one below + some nice card draws.
Deck Match History Highlights (Note: not all of them will be posted. only what i think is significant)
Tournament Multiplayer against Omnath + zurr
i began the match with a decent forest + solring and went in for an oracle on 2nd turn. which got killed fast. was my mistake. i wasnt drawing my counterspells or my tutors until i finally was able to relic crush zur's nonestop enchantments. plague wind saved the game for me when omnath player had so much tokens on the field. notable combo was forbid + damia. once they realized what was going on, they scooped and i win with 29 life.
Tournament Multiplayer against geth, lord of vault poison + glissa destruction
early on in the match, i manage to pull off a turn two primeval titan with reanimate. however, not realizing what glissa player was capable of, it died an early death. they have made it their goal to focus me down instead of going against each other from now on. then mid game i was screwed since i drew land after land but soon enough, i got ascetism on the field and all was right in the world. however i wasn't safe from the many board wipes he had. this time they knew i had seedborn muse and they got rid of her soon as she came out and made sure she she never comes back. but the game dragged on and sheoldred locked them down and i won through general damage with 14 life left.
Tournament Multiplayer against (black/white general who destroys things through +1/+1 counters) + glissa again
they made sure to keep my seedborn muse dead once again with that doom blade on an artifact so i cannot pull off an avatar of woe every turn. i was screwed and drew so many lands once again which after a long enduring, i defeated one of them through general damage. However, the luck turn around and glissa player drew an exsanguinate and i had no counterspells left in hand when i had 8 life left. I lost this one.. in all three games i had rite of replication and it felt nothing but a dead card. i will be replacing it once i figure out what i want in instead.
Casual Multiplayer against Kaalia and sisay
they were both teaming up on me and got me down to 5 health. but at that point, i finally got my combos to start and they both scooped because there was nothing they could do. i won the game at 5 life with seedborn muse, avatar of woe, sheoldred, leyline, teferi, damia on the field

Asuming you have some money for at least mid tier cards when I see things like force of will in here. I don't like cancel either A bad dissapate and you don't run farei trickery which is same thing. Manna drain if it's in budget is the best counter in the format IMO. Ewe and mana leak stop fixating on your scepter or fixate with good cars like drain lol. You did not post your lands they are incredibly important plz post . I can't tell if Azusa good in here since u posted no lands but I don't see crucible . Phage kinda sucks and playing 2 more sucky cards to make her work is even worse IMO cloak is meh darksteel plate us bad in this deck in general . You need creature tutors your mana accel us way to low . You need survival if the fittest maybe. Arcanis or consecrated sphinx to draw I. Your seedborn package . Mind control is a bad treachery I prefer desertion another counter over it even. You need more cheap draw Fact or fiction phyrexian arena rhystic stdy skullclamp w/e. planar portal helps break your muse anticipation combo but u need more mana accel make it work and I recommend mana reflection as well. So in short post lands fix mana accel ( my general rule is more than 50 of your 100" cards should be land or primary purpose to accel mana. Get more draw and replace subpar control spells with top teir ones and I don't know what your plan to win is but you really need to overhaul this entire deck don't reference my deck for all core card choices but look at my manabase as well as just card engines I use to churn things out you have some good combos but they dont have the support to consistantly hit the board. Also on a side note you do f need all that shroud and all the counters redundant and waste of space. Hope my iPhone typing cane our somewhat readable -mox

i didn't know about those counter spells so thank you for suggesting them!. i should look up some nice better options. i'm trying to go for cheap mana cost counters that's why mana leak is there and such.
putrefy was something i wanted to add but i couldn't find a place to buy it from besides the internet so it took awhile.
i like mimic vat cuz it also copies creatures of my opponents. since i have alot of creature destruction in here and since alot of them play reanimation, it helps quite alot. it might be different in your play group though.
hmm well, the thing about darksteel plate is that.. it makes damia indestructible.. and when i put shroud/hexproof on her, she's staying there for good.
its not just for phage, phage is mainly here as a joke. ( i once killed myself by using quicksilver amulet on phage because i had to leave for work).
also i don't know what you mean by scepter, you mean isochron? i don't have it in this deck. i don't see a need for it to be honest. those low mana cost counters are for early and for when my opponents tap out which happens often.
i'm not sure if i need more card draw. but i will try and see those examples you gave. damia provides me more than enough draw and the deck revolves around protecting her to begin with. it might be my playgroup lacking things to counter my deck but right now its doing fairly well.
I've Updated the deck and the thread quite a bit. I decided I'll Continue to make this the main thread for my Damia deck instead of having to recreate it.

Daze seems bad. Probably worse than Mana Leak, and you cut that first. It should probably become Hinder.
Hitting the metalcraft consistently on Stoic Rebuttal also seems iffy. Maybe Undermine, off the top of my head?
well the thing about daze is probably the fact that i can cast it even though I'm tapped out. so its probably the most unexpected counterspell i have in this deck. specially since they sometimes cast all their big things when they notice i have no mana open.
i thought about stoic rebuttal so i've been testing it out. though i do believe undermine would be better i just never thought about it before so thanks for the great suggestion!

hmm, i've never had a problem casting plague wind. its actually very awesome in multiplayer and i keep my own monsters which was the whole reason why i liked it.
i'm still not sure what to remove for titan. thinking of BoP for a more solid mana ramp.
also not sure what to remove for hinder or if i even need it since i already have alot of anti general cards.

i would love to have them in the deck but i just don't have that kind of money to spend. maybe in the future when i get a better paying job.
pact of negation isnt really free since you have to pay 5 mana for it next turn. meanwhile daze can be cast when i have 1 mana and tapped out. its surprising how effective this card is. very underrated. i suggest people try it out more.

I know plauge wind is great if you have creature on the board but it's 9 mana and it Is only good when you have creatures most times I find myself wanting to wrath I don't have creatures on the board I don't know for it to ve you you need 9 mana at least 2 creatures on board and your at 15% creatures You also play stuff to make you indestructable on top of it. yeah, perhaps you can argue that i only have 15 creatures. yeah but those 15 creatures are all VITAL and i can't afford them dead. at all. not a single one of them. okay maybe yavimaya elder can die and also eternal witness but the rest are more useful alive.
and i only have indestructible for one creature which i often use on damia/seedborn muse.

I can understand not wanting to shell out for a Force. My Damia deck is combo oriented, so Pact is usually free. I just see Daze as a dead card far too often. You have to have an opponent tap out for a spell. Once your opponents know you are playing it, its WAY to easy to play around. You really should play a counter that is live a much higher percentage of the time.

lol i agree what you mean by daze. but you know, the fun part comes when your opponents go "okay so you're tapped out right now... but i don't know if you have daze in your hand.." they are never safe! but yeah, i'll get a force of will some day and remove daze for it but for now, daze fills that role of scaring the crap out of my opponents once i have an island on the field.
Why arent you running Grave or Primeval titan? I think you need some fatties in your deck to beat people up with. You can run whatever you want to beat them down with but I think you have far too many counters in the deck and not enough threats.

those are only some of the threats this deck poses. this deck is full of threats so i suggest you take another look.
i don't like grave since it only gives me tokens which i don't really need that badly. i'm already considering primeval titan. i just don't know what to remove for it but he will go in the deck. maybe i'll remove Birds of paradise for him to fulfill that threatening role.

but hmm, my play group allow for mulligans where in we don't have to draw less. so i never open a hand with plague wind in it. plague wind however IS a game winner. as soon as i cast that (if i even have to since i probably already countered/destroyed all their stuff) my opponents give up. its alot more game changing than a day of judgment or a black sun zenith or a genesis wave.
my play group runs these decks:
zurr, kaalia, sisay, rafiq, riku, norin, nath, glissa, rhys, skillix (or w'e its spelled), that reanimator general and many others i can't fully remember them all since there's alot of us in my play group. all their decks are fast.
also i added primeval titan due to its usefulness. and i'll add treachery to the deck once i can afford it!
I just noticed no consecrated sphinx that should be picked up with treachery it's amazing and broken as hell with your Leyline muse combo.
i don't like consecrated sphinx due to it being a creature. my play group plays alot of creature removal and my deck already has enough creatures to protect. i'd much prefer to play mana reflection since my play group doesnt run alot of enchantment removal. but i don't have room for it.

so firstly, regrowth is not cheap. lmao. that thing cost $50+ if you can even get one since none are available in my area and i can't buy things online.. (i guess i should point that out on the first post). i would DEFINITELY add it but I am iffy on the price tag.

i thought about using less basic land and adding other lands specially the ones have hideaway like mosswort bridge. i'll be trying to get those and get rid of 1 basic land from each. then maybe one of each vivids aswell.

You did not post your lands they are incredibly important plz post . I can't tell if Azusa good in here since u posted no lands but I don't see crucible . Phage kinda sucks and playing 2 more sucky cards to make her work is even worse IMO cloak is meh darksteel plate us bad in this deck in general . You need creature tutors your mana accel us way to low . You need survival if the fittest maybe. Arcanis or consecrated sphinx to draw I. Your seedborn package . Mind control is a bad treachery I prefer desertion another counter over it even. You need more cheap draw Fact or fiction phyrexian arena rhystic stdy skullclamp w/e. planar portal helps break your muse anticipation combo but u need more mana accel make it work and I recommend mana reflection as well. So in short post lands fix mana accel ( my general rule is more than 50 of your 100" cards should be land or primary purpose to accel mana. Get more draw and replace subpar control spells with top teir ones and I don't know what your plan to win is but you really need to overhaul this entire deck don't reference my deck for all core card choices but look at my manabase as well as just card engines I use to churn things out you have some good combos but they dont have the support to consistantly hit the board. Also on a side note you do f need all that shroud and all the counters redundant and waste of space. Hope my iPhone typing cane our somewhat readable -mox

Tragic Slip seems almost worthless. Putrefy is MUCH more useful. Doom Blade and Go For The Throat are weak, but not unplayable.
Your creature count seems VERY low to be playing Quicksilver Amulet (which I don't really like to begin with). I am not a huge fan of Mimic Vat either, I found that it just does nothing far too often.
Seeing your manabase would be nice as well.

i didn't know about those counter spells so thank you for suggesting them!. i should look up some nice better options. i'm trying to go for cheap mana cost counters that's why mana leak is there and such.
putrefy was something i wanted to add but i couldn't find a place to buy it from besides the internet so it took awhile.
i like mimic vat cuz it also copies creatures of my opponents. since i have alot of creature destruction in here and since alot of them play reanimation, it helps quite alot. it might be different in your play group though.
hmm well, the thing about darksteel plate is that.. it makes damia indestructible.. and when i put shroud/hexproof on her, she's staying there for good.
its not just for phage, phage is mainly here as a joke. ( i once killed myself by using quicksilver amulet on phage because i had to leave for work).
also i don't know what you mean by scepter, you mean isochron? i don't have it in this deck. i don't see a need for it to be honest. those low mana cost counters are for early and for when my opponents tap out which happens often.
i'm not sure if i need more card draw. but i will try and see those examples you gave. damia provides me more than enough draw and the deck revolves around protecting her to begin with. it might be my playgroup lacking things to counter my deck but right now its doing fairly well.

Hitting the metalcraft consistently on Stoic Rebuttal also seems iffy. Maybe Undermine, off the top of my head?

well the thing about daze is probably the fact that i can cast it even though I'm tapped out. so its probably the most unexpected counterspell i have in this deck. specially since they sometimes cast all their big things when they notice i have no mana open.
i thought about stoic rebuttal so i've been testing it out. though i do believe undermine would be better i just never thought about it before so thanks for the great suggestion!

Mind Control should be Volition Reigns. For 1 more mana you can grab anything.
Disentomb should be Regrowth. Again, 1 more mana gets you anything.
Daze is SOOOOOO bad. If you want a free counterspell, you should invest in a Force of Will or Pact of Negation.

hmm, i've never had a problem casting plague wind. its actually very awesome in multiplayer and i keep my own monsters which was the whole reason why i liked it.
i'm still not sure what to remove for titan. thinking of BoP for a more solid mana ramp.
also not sure what to remove for hinder or if i even need it since i already have alot of anti general cards.
hmm, i have considered those cards but i really don't think i wanna spend $50+ on ONE card :/
i would love to have them in the deck but i just don't have that kind of money to spend. maybe in the future when i get a better paying job.
pact of negation isnt really free since you have to pay 5 mana for it next turn. meanwhile daze can be cast when i have 1 mana and tapped out. its surprising how effective this card is. very underrated. i suggest people try it out more.

yeah, perhaps you can argue that i only have 15 creatures. yeah but those 15 creatures are all VITAL and i can't afford them dead. at all. not a single one of them. okay maybe yavimaya elder can die and also eternal witness but the rest are more useful alive.
and i only have indestructible for one creature which i often use on damia/seedborn muse.

I can understand not wanting to shell out for a Force. My Damia deck is combo oriented, so Pact is usually free. I just see Daze as a dead card far too often. You have to have an opponent tap out for a spell. Once your opponents know you are playing it, its WAY to easy to play around. You really should play a counter that is live a much higher percentage of the time.

lol i agree what you mean by daze. but you know, the fun part comes when your opponents go "okay so you're tapped out right now... but i don't know if you have daze in your hand.." they are never safe! but yeah, i'll get a force of will some day and remove daze for it but for now, daze fills that role of scaring the crap out of my opponents once i have an island on the field.

so you don't find a seedborn muse a threat? what if that's combine with an avatar of woe? and you don't think sheoldred, whispering one is threatening? perhaps vigor? did i mention teferi, mage of zhalfir is also here and can be casted for 4 mana - ohh and by that i mean all my creatures can be casted for 4 mana with the help of quicksilver amulet? or maybe you'd find a mimic vat with a rune-scarred demon imprinted on it pretty threatening?
those are only some of the threats this deck poses. this deck is full of threats so i suggest you take another look.
i don't like grave since it only gives me tokens which i don't really need that badly. i'm already considering primeval titan. i just don't know what to remove for it but he will go in the deck. maybe i'll remove Birds of paradise for him to fulfill that threatening role.

but hmm, my play group allow for mulligans where in we don't have to draw less. so i never open a hand with plague wind in it. plague wind however IS a game winner. as soon as i cast that (if i even have to since i probably already countered/destroyed all their stuff) my opponents give up. its alot more game changing than a day of judgment or a black sun zenith or a genesis wave.
my play group runs these decks:
zurr, kaalia, sisay, rafiq, riku, norin, nath, glissa, rhys, skillix (or w'e its spelled), that reanimator general and many others i can't fully remember them all since there's alot of us in my play group. all their decks are fast.
also i added primeval titan due to its usefulness. and i'll add treachery to the deck once i can afford it!

i don't like consecrated sphinx due to it being a creature. my play group plays alot of creature removal and my deck already has enough creatures to protect. i'd much prefer to play mana reflection since my play group doesnt run alot of enchantment removal. but i don't have room for it.

so firstly, regrowth is not cheap. lmao. that thing cost $50+ if you can even get one since none are available in my area and i can't buy things online.. (i guess i should point that out on the first post). i would DEFINITELY add it but I am iffy on the price tag.
maelstrom pulse, same reason as treachery tbh, i want it and it will be added to the deck once i can afford it.
i thought about using less basic land and adding other lands specially the ones have hideaway like mosswort bridge. i'll be trying to get those and get rid of 1 basic land from each. then maybe one of each vivids aswell.
i really don't like fact or fiction due to the fact that my deck is a "jerK" deck to my group. and they will give me the worsts options. trust me i tried it.
and yeah i wanted mind sculptor but that price tag is way expensive :/
