--Insert badass banner of Ixidor beating a dragon to death with his Dream Chisel---
Ixidor's Hobbies, and why you may like them too! Included, but not limited to:
Being Tricksy.
Playing :symu:, but not being a jerk about it.
Being versatile and adaptive.
So, I decided to make an EDH deck that focused on the Morph mechanic. Unfortunately, Wizards hasn't made a multicolor set featuring Morph (Come on, a :symu::symg: Morph set would be pretty sweet! Just give it a General!), so the obvious, and only choice, is Ixidor. The story behind this guy is insane, as he was as well. If only poor Nivea had a card we could use (Ixidor crafted Akroma in her image, but she isn't exactly on-color :-/).
But back to Ixidor: He's playable in a few different ways, including Control (Pickles combo, permission), Aggro (Face-down to shroud their identities, in addition to all the "If power < 2: unblockable" cards), or some mix in between both.
Featuring a round-up of worthwhile morph creatures, and a smattering of some Wizards to have a second theme going on (and an excuse to run Ixidor's Will, Foiled!). Tried to be flavorful with the headings and card choices, and so anything not complete jank that is on-theme, suggest it. Bonus points if it is cool, effective, and can be foiled. Haven't done a real search through the newer sets, but preference on pre-Modern backgrounds if you can think of any cards that fit the bill.
Pretty straightforward abilities, overall. A few things to bounce my creatures in addition to theirs.
Super Secret Tech: Face-down cards don't have a color. Inundate, I'm looking at you.
A few cards help flip over my cretures either way, and cheating the Djinn and Dragon into play is fun, especially early-on, or as a defensive measure.
Chain of Vapor: Added. Features Nivea, Ixidor's deceased lover, and is usable by the deck to remove a threat temporarily, or return a couple morphers back home.
More to be added as people tell me why I am bad at this game.
Edit: Thanks viperesque for moving the thread. Updated list and small OP changes.
Why Minamo? Your only Legendary creatures do not have tap effects, and neither of them are particularly effective as beaters. Similarly, Riptide Laboratory has less of an effect for you (although it does allow you to reuse certain Morphs, not many of them are Wizards). If you are running the Laboratory to bounce Ixidor or Teferi, might I sugest putting in Erratic Portal over one of the less efficient Morphs? Also, Desert is hideously bad in EDH.
Props if you understand why Desert is in there. Though it is gonna be taken out, cause...yeah...
I understand Desert is horrible.
As for Minamo, yeah, it can be replaced as well. If I decide this deck can take the heat, so to speak, I will put in my Strip Mine/Ghost Quarter/Tec Edge, but currently I don't want to be making enemies right away (as tends to happen to ANY form of land destruction in my meta) since I have not tested this deck out enough.
More realistically, I'll toss in either the animators or token generators.
---
Quicksilver Dragon would definitely add some beats to the list, and I could "cheat" it into play with Dermoplasm. Also funny stuff if they happen to target it.
I am aware of the card, but also aware of its price tag. While I haven't claimed this to be a budget list, there are limits. If I ever decide to toss one in, it'll be after I have determined the list is tuned enough to handle it. Cards such as Force are pretty much a giant X on your head.
Basically, if I discover/evolve the deck to have really good 1v1 potential, I'll put it in, same with Wasteland, Tectonic Edge, and Ghost Quarter.
---
Picking up a couple foils for the list, which is awesome. Whenever I get around to it, pics will be uploaded.
EDIT:
@ Riptide Laboratory: I currently have 12 Wizards in the list, and since there is no real drawback (I have plenty of sources) I'll keep it in. Erratic Portal seems like a definite sub-in for one of the weaker choices, however.
Did you throw desert in there because Ixidor went into the desert to build his forces? :p. as for adds, maybe venser(shaper savant) or just a plain old counterspell? Are greaves really that important for you as well? Sorry for the brief advice/commentary and lack of tags, but im posting from a phone heh. Hope I could help!
This deck I have not played much with, yet. With finals next week and such, I'll only have a few games here and there for testing. Once I weed out certain morphers as not good, or underwhelming, I will certainly look to replace them, most likely with Wizards such as Venser.
Greaves helps protect Ixidor, Ixidron, or Nameless One, and Whispersilk Cloak is to help end the game. Whether or not they are actually necessary is questionable, but as I said, I haven't tested it much yet, so I want to play safe. Ixidor pumps everyone up, and unblockable on some of these guys can hurt pretty bad, such as on Nameless One and Ixidron.
4 Counterspells and Counterbalance seemed enough to me, but again, it'll adjust as I get more testing. In fact, Dream Leash is likely to get dropped for good ol' Counterspell.
Looks fun, yeah if you run Venser, Shaper Savant in there definitly add more wizard targets for riptide Lab, I happen to play Venser so check my list
btw the my deck happens to be very Wizardy and (some people think the general really should be Memnarch but I feel that paints to big of a target on my head at the beginning, but Jace, the Mind sculptor has the same effect if someone accident sees it at any point wither its on the floor (for a secound or bottom of the deck) or at least thats how people react to My deck in My meta.
I will take some futher snooping around and see if i could find some stuff that might help you.
I also play Weiss Schwarz, Chaos, Vanguard and Wixoss.
Weiss Schwarz Sets
Accel World, Angel Beats, Familiar of Zero, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, Guilty Crown, Kill La Kill, Robotics;Notes, Sword Art Online.
Chaos Partners

Dangan Ronpa: Asahina, Togami.
Freezing: Vibration: Chiffon, Satelizer.
Vanguard Clans Favoured
Angel Feather, Dark Irregulars, Genesis, Neonecter, Pale Moon, Shadow Paladins, Tachikaze.
Is the the new border for the miracle cards? Really? It's really good for the deck, but it is so ugly...
I'll be playing it later tonight at my LGS, and I've decided to adjust it to be more "mean" and add Force of Will, Ghost Quarter, Tectonic Edge, and Strip Mine.

Consider the following lands:
Any of those would be better for your deck than Desert and Minamo.
Driving Stick with Isochron Scepter.
Trinkets and Treasure: An Artificer's Toolbox.
Proc Drops: Playing with One Drops.
Deck Primer: Toshiro Umezawa
I understand Desert is horrible.

Ordered an Erratic Portal, a foil Quicksilver Dragon, and am getting a couple foil-versions of some of the cards here.
It may still be a rough list, but it'll shine!
