Nothing major, but I did just have a discussion via new game titles with another fellow about whether or not EDH could be played 'competitively' (in reference to a game a third party had created). Essentially, his view point was that because it was an unsanctioned format it could only be played casually, and anyone who didn't share that viewpoint was a douche. Just... /facepalm
Also just had a bit of a gem from "TrolledTroll". Unfortunately, being the idjit I am I didn't save the log. It effectively went like this - game 1 I lose to a crushingly fast assault from T1 Dark Rit into Buried Alive 3x Bloodghast, and then a few other hasty/back from the graveyard style creatures like Gravecrawler and Nether Traitor to follow up. I'm not expecting much out of G2 as I'm playing a slower 'mono black ramp deck', but I decide to not concede and see if I can pull some sort of miracle out of my butt. Opening hand is something like Urborg, Cabal Coffers x 2, Swamp, Ex Map x 2 and Hymn To Tourach. So the mana is there if I can survive long enough, and draw into either Emmy or Consume Spirit. He's whittling down my health, and on my third last turn I'm in a tight spot. I do the calcs and realise I'll be on 1 life still if I don't cast the Consume Spirit I've drawn yet and instead wait for an extra swamp to put more power into my *four* Coffers, so I pass and hope he doesn't draw anything that'll do an extra damage - he doesn't. Next turn I consume Spirit for 16, which surprisingly only looks like it'll give me 2 extra turns of life. Fortunately, the next turn I top deck... Consume Spirit, and cast for lethal. After that I'm about to concede g3 as I know his deck should crush me and has the advantage over mine due to sheer speed, but before I can he goes "gg", and then complains about it being ridiculous that he was constantly attacking and all I was doing was playing lands (and Ex Maps to find lands, and Hymn To Tourachs) and yet I won. He then DC'd before I could rofl at him for having the obviously superior deck but getting irate about losing a single game to a really good draw. Quote:

Just had a game where an idiot thought flip cards retain their mana costs. I told him "look, you're counting your wins & losses... you're saying you're 10 and 0... you just got mad about losing in game 1, and now you're arguing the rules with me in game 2... I'll give you time to look it up". He calls me a noob, tells me I lose, leaves, and starts up a new game saying he's 11-0 and undefeated. There are people with real egotistical issues that seem to cling to a false feeling of superiority. It's annoying to watch them squabble about, tossing around name-calling in order to shield themselves from reality. |

Oh, this is Eric W. I love him dearly. He sits in MWS days on end with either "Haters keep walking" or whatever, I usually spend my time waiting for friends coming on just messing with him, while changing my name so he thinks I am a different person. A++, would troll again. |

Ah, my mistake. For some reason I was thinking the regeneration ability had already resolved.

I'm playing my friend Alex's Lands list that he top 64ed GP Indy with and join a game entitled LEGACY COMPETITIVE (or something along those lines; it was definitely all caps), with a tag note of "no quitting". I keep a decent hand, play a Tranquil Thicket, and pass. Opp. plays an untapped Hallowed Fountain. I cast a Life from the Loam on my turn with no cards in my graveyard. I click 'Ok?'. Opp. tanks for a while, Spell Snares, and then quits very shortly after:

Anyone of you guys encountered this kind of player. Super strict or just another troll?

Ugh, I hate players like that. Happens all the time when I put out lands that would enter untapped in a tapped position, signifying I'm going to use the mana immediately, and then they complain that the land doesn't come out tapped.
As for my own updates... just had a game that wasn't really worth saving, but reinforced in me the idea that you should have some decent rules knowledge before hopping onto MWS. I'm playing blue CA/control, he's playing GR werewolves (both casual). His list of infractions: 0. He accidentally draws 8 cards. I'd be more accepting of this if he just threw one on top of the library, preferably randomly - but no. Not only does he put it on top of the library, he then proceeds to shuffle it. Instead of drawing 7, draw 8 and ditch the worst card? Don't mind if I do! 1. On turn 4, he plays an Immerwolf with one already out. I Cryptic Command, choosing bounce and counter. He takes them both to his hand. When I say "only one to hand, the other to gy", it takes him a solid minute to actually ditch one. 2. He taps three forests, and then plays... Young Wolf. I pretty much autofired Counterspell as I was expecting the Predator Ooze I had previously bounced to his hand, but quickly said "sorry, no counter, was expecting ooze". He then proceeded to give Young Wolf a +1/+1 counter, seemingly because he thought it had undied from the counterspell or some silly reason like that. ![]() 3. After that, he proceeds to take a second turn in a row. It takes a solid minute of "wait! wait! wait! why are you taking an extra turn?" before he undoes he stuff. Fortunately, I swung for lethal next turn, but unfortunately he bailed before I could tell him he needs to sure up his rules knowledge. Futher updates: *Many 'casual/fun' players (pretty much all I'm playing atm) listing their games as such but including either some of the better vintage cards like Survival, Demonic Tutor and Balance, but even the power 9 in some cases. This used to happen on rare occasions to me, but this month I've been getting quite a few. *There's someone who's piloting a 100 card Myr tribal deck, who consistently fails to understand how Myr Retriever works (he always digs for the card when it ETBs, not when it dies), and always quits when I stop him and tell him he's misunderstanding the card (by always, I mean both times out of the two games I've had with him). This is the main thing I hate about Modern, having to play against people who can't wrap their heads around Dark Confidant.
He missed the trigger once, and two other times he drew first then did Bobs trigger. Quote:

It is now turn 12 (Steel)
It is now the Beginning Phase, Untap Step Steel taps Drowned Catacomb Steel taps Drowned Catacomb Steel untaps Drowned Catacomb Steel plays Phantasmal Image from Hand <Steel> End my turn <ScootaLewis> ok <ScootaLewis> lol Phantasmal Image is now 1/0 <Steel> resp Steel taps Swamp Steel taps Drowned Catacomb Steel plays Altar's Reap from Hand Steel draws a card Steel draws a card <ScootaLewis> yeah <ScootaLewis> no Steel puts Phantasmal Image to Graveyard from Play Steel puts Altar's Reap to Graveyard from Play <ScootaLewis> that doesn't work <System> Player Lost To clarify: He cast Phantasmal Image copying Gravecrawler with a heartless summoning out. Was I correct in saying that no, altar's reap doesn't work in this situation? |

Indeed. After it resolves and before any player gains priority again, state based actions would be checked and see a 1/0 that would be put into the graveyard.

I finally have one, and on Cockatrice no less.
Two individual parts of the same match, I'm playing my Ooze Stompy and on a pretty good jive, until the second thing happens.

Haha, this one made me laugh for real.

I guess when I attacked with my Bloodgift Demon to put him to 10, then dropped a Demonlord of Ashmouth sacking Bloodgift, then Slipped his Silverheart, it probably unhinged something in his brain. It looks like he couldn't draw an answer. |

Am I missing something here? It certainly looks like he should have to discard down to 7 if he USZ'ed during his own end step. I'm using this turn structure reference.
