After some of the changes in the previous thread, many helpful contributors to this arch-type made some very good changes to put it in a better direction:
Selesnya Keyrune- A great ramp tool and an amazing body that can come online whenever needed, will certainly handle the faster aggro decks, and a 3/3 body can help win the race against control. Very great card for protecting your walkers, or yourself!
Lingering Souls- Another great tool for stalling and protecting your walkers and stopping an early rush down from aggressive decks.
Tribute to Hunger/Oblivion Ring/Tragic Slip - Removal, Removal, Removal!
Terminus- Sitting at a 3 of in this deck it will certainly help against hexproof monsters (Geist, Sigarda) but will also on the luck chance Miracle saving you and putting you way ahead of the aggressive deck. Especially will be great against zombies.
Thragtusk - Amazing creature for it's cost, will help greatly put you at good health after an early rush and/or damage from Shock-lands.
Sigarda- still on the fence as our finisher, but is very hard to remove, and flies.
The Walkers:
Vraska/Liliana/Garruk: All play a pivotal role in this deck, these are removal and/or win conditions for you, Vraska can take out anything you need to while Liliana can get rid of creatures as well as Garruk. With the stalling of lingering souls tokens there is plenty of time to get the most out of these planeswalkers.
Sorin/Garruk: War of Attrition against other mid-range and control decks, or could simply put bodies in front of an aggro players attackers.
**Updating still for the PRIMER** will be adding more as discussion continues!
I really like this list. The superfriends concept has always intrigued me, but it definitely couldn't come close to Tier 1 during the last block. Vraska the Unseen plus Selesnya Keyrune may put it over the top.
Just a couple thoughts to add at the moment:
- Restoration Angel would fit nicely in here alongside your Thragtusks.
- I see you mentioned Sorin, Lord of Innistrad in the primer but not in the deck. Sideboard? If so, for what matchup? I like him mainboard, so I'm curious.
I find the absence of Curse of Death's Hold very puzzling. With runes and farseeks, You are able to drop it t4, which is huge against all Zombie builds, since they loose most of their game in Trolls, G-Crawlers and Aristocrat being unable to survive. In the predicted meta I would be scared to leave my house without at least 3 MD Curses in any builds that can support it.
Probably u got it covered in the previous discussion, but what exactly is the reasoning behind your removal suite? I can see why the deck needs the Tributes, but why Tragic Slips?

I agree, as long as you can survive to turn 4/5 to drop it. Zombies is going to be very, very quick. I already miss Gideon.
Vampire Nighthawk is a house, both in late game when you're both in topdeck mode, and early on, especially against the aggro decks. They drop turn 2 Smiter and you drop turn 3 nighthawk, and even if they rancor the smiter, you only lose 1 life and trade. With 3 toughness it isn't easily removed, and adds to your delay strategy alone with lingering souls.
4 Thragtusk is a must now, UW decks can't deal with it and that should be a heavily played deck, delver or no delver, since lots of pro players have been writing about it.
Terminus is the best removal in the format, as it deals with everything. I'd almost want to go to 4, but I'll leave the 4th in the board so I'm not stuck with too many in matchups I won't want. There will still be control matchups where I already have enough dead cards.
Liliana of the Veil is not that good anymore, especially if the meta is full of Loxodon Smiters and Zombies and Tokens. +1 usually will only hurt this deck since there's nothing I want to discard except extra land, and -2 usually kills a token.
Tragic Slip is excellent paired with Lingering Souls, but is also a way to deal with turn 1 mana dorks, Delvers, and the like, which will probably be quite common.
The Keyrunes are awesome. We love man lands, so of course we love manifacts. It's technically ramp on turn 3, which lets us to Thragtusk/Sigarda/Vraska on 4, but being a 3/3 after you terminus or right out of the gate (especially to block Geist of Saint Traft) is fantastic.
The three spots still in flux for me are the 2 charms and Sever the Bloodline. I love Sever, it will definitely be a 2-of in my 75, but I don't know if I want to main it or board it. The same thing with the Charms - Golgari might not be what I'm looking for in this deck, since Curse of Death's Hold might be better and does a better job at what I use the charm for anyway. I love Selesnya Charm because it can make a Geist of Saint Traft blocker at instant speed, or exile a giant Troll, Armada Wurm, or reanimated Griselbrand.
What are people's feeling on Murder? I am currently running 2 of them in the main along side of 4 Abrupt Decay and 2 Terminus. Those with Garruk and Vraska usually I'm ok with removal AC gets early threats and the murder gets later game bombs. Just curious on why Tragic Slip is the go to? Sure it dodges regen and indestructible but outside Lol Troll is regen an issue?
And Falkenrath Aristocrat. But with Lingering Souls you can do the chump block and -13/-13 deal, so you can catch just about anything.

Great list! Though i really am on the fence about the Sorin/Liliana debate, will tokens be eating her sac ability that often? I feel even against zombies Liliana will be advantageous to us, since other than Messenger it does put them back slightly on tempo (even if it is a crawler.)

Lingering souls + tragic , yes it does seem like alot of resources but, I'm okay with doing that since it does take down anything other than hexproof. Which is fine, plus in a pinch you can slip something so Sigarda will live (if we choose to use her still).
I'm really loving Tribute to Hunger (except in zombies) , should this list be tailor'd for zombies? I'm assuming it will be all over the place? thoughts? I think the MD now has a solid 1st game against it, and after board probably even better (Curse/decay ect).

I really like this list. I agree that the Golgari Charm should be a Curse of Death's Hold as you can leave enchantment removal to Vraska, ORing and Sideboard strategies. Have you thought about Garruk, Primal Hunter as a one of? I feel that his card draw will be relevant as your own form of draw is Sign in Blood. I'd probably also reduce Abrupt Decay to a 2 of and run either another Selesnya Charm, Tragic Slip, Murder or Sever the Bloodline. Abrupt can be useful, but if you hit lategame (which you want to do) than it may be a dead card in hand. Sever is a fantastic card against tokens, zombies and other decks that run a lot of the same creature - and with the ramp you may be able to flashback consistently.
yeah, keep laying down pw's and threats. The same suggestion id give vs any creature removal in a control deck relying on creatures.
I hate lilianna in this at all, as I dont think she does much of anything besides force a sacrifice. You dont have any cards you are going to want to discard anything you have. I understand trying to have a pw curve, but she doesnt seem as productive as sorin, who protects himself at least somewhat, and gains you life.
For some reason I am tempted to try to fit in a rangers path or 2 here, to lay down 2 extra shocklands on turn 4-5. That would significantly help improve threat density once the game goes longer. Or maybe im crazy. At the very least though, farseek seems like a must have card.

I've been playing around in my head with the idea of a 1 of Underworld Connections, but I'm not sure if that would be better or worse than a one-of Garruk Primal Hunter.

Underworld Connections is essentially a 5 drop from somewhere I was reading. And it requires a mana-investment to take advantage of. Maybe Bloodgift Demon or Garruk, Primal Hunter (but I think the fact that Garruk draws you the cards immediatly is better than both of those combinations) plus he a threat by himself. His tokens are strong, protects himself and walkers you control and his ultimate is better than Vraskas (as you have no Kessig Wolf Run).
Edit: Also, is Selesnya Keyrune the best rune to use? It seems to me that the 3/3 vanilla beater is just meh (I guess it's good against zombies) What about Golgari Keyrune? The deathtouch is relevant removal.

Farseek is a must, indeed. I think you're better off with the Farseek/Keyrune package then forcing Ranger's path we want to be ramping, but don't want to "ramp" if that makes sense. You're right in the long run Sorin may prove to be better, i'll update the OP to reflect such **still working on the Primer**
Yeah Dreadbore is going to happen, have to just play through/around it if you need to.

It stays alive much easier, and lives through a Geist of Saint Traft block, among other things.
I recently converted my test version to this, runs pretty good! I dropped 2 of the Arbor Ekfs due to the decks already smooth mana flow! Additionally I'm running 6 walkers because they are all extraordinary candidates for token production plus give additional kicks elsewhere. As fort sideboard I feel it's pretty solid but still open for suggestions. Also I'm aware this is the super friends thread but I have no where else to post it

Not to steal this thread's thunder but - http://forums.mtgsalvation.com/showthread.php?t=450048. If you are looking for a Junk token discussion come here. I really like both lists (as mine seems very similar to both lists). I'll be watching both of these threads

Still very new to this, its telling me I don't have those privileges yet.
If push came to shove and I had to name mine today it would be "Masters of Evil" because I enjoy Marvel more than DC, but any group of villains would work for this.
Out of curosity why hasn't anyone running a version of GWB shown any attention towards cards Slime Molding? I mean you can cast it for X then populate it. Seems legit to me. Especially on turn 5 or 6, considering mana dork potential it becomes even more of threat. Just curious?
