If you are on a budget, i strongly suggest that you go either mono-red or mono-blue. Playing only one color gets the benefit of having mostly basinc lands as your mana base, wich reduce the cost of a deck by a great margin. The choice between the two colors also depends on wether you play 1vs1 or multiplayer.

If you play 1vs1, i would choose a mono-blue deck. Blue offers some very good generals while the red ones aren't that great or simply cost too much for what they do. Blue also offers the possibility of playing counterspells, which usually don't sell for too much money.

If you play multiplayer, i would still go for a mono-color deck but, you can pick either color and be very fine with it. In fact, red offers some good removal, while counterspells are less effective in multiplayer games.

For decklists, it would be easier if you provide some playstyle you want or any theme you would like.

i usually play fast burn (lots of haste and red burn) or high control/mill.

ive never played edh on mtgo so to be honest id play whichever i was likely to find more games in 1v1 or multi

Talrand is a very interesting EDH deck... are you playing 1v1 or multiplayer?

because he doesn't work so well in multiplayer.

Talrand plays a ton of cards that aren't normally used in EDH. He basically likes to have low cost cards with small effects rather than big plays that EDH is.

so Can trips, Counter spells, card draw, perhaps some bounce. then ways to make your Drakes better.

You really have to keep Talrand alive to make it work so you need a lot of counter spells.

Try organizing your list in a way that is easier to follow... ie:

Land
(list Land)
Creatures
(list creatures)
etc...

Additionally, there was another thread started in this same subforum about build Talrand on a budget. Check it out:
