IIRC, Dimir was supposed to have a mill-based mechanic that they took out and replaced with Cipher. Maybe that's what he's referring to here?

I'd look for the post on MaRo's blog where he mentioned it, but the search doesn't work.

MaGo mentioned grind in his feature article today, as a specific variant of milling (mill until you hit a land).

"Grind" was the playtest name for a mechanic that was going to be used as the Dimir keyword. They went with Cipher instead, but the mechanic is still used on a few Dimir cards in the set (and one in Return to Ravnica: Destroy the Evidence).
