Tapatalk is an outstanding mobile app for viewing forum sites - signup for forum owners is free, and it supposed a wide variety of forum types, which I believe include the type used here. It would be outstanding to be able to post with ease from my Android phone! (it's also for iPhone/Blackberry)

This is not an ad for Tapatalk. I just think this would really enable more people to utilize and enjoy the forums here. Thanks for your time, admins!

I won't link the tapatalk site because I'm really not trying to advertise for them or anything and don't want a ban or suspension over this; I have the utmost faith in your googling skills!

We're looking into creating a mobile version of the site. I'm not a big fan of Tapatalk because it's not free, but I'll reconsider it. Thank you for your patience.

Thanks for your reply!

I can definitely see where you're coming from. As just a tiny nudge, think of it as just opening another door to the site for those people like myself (1.3 million and growing) who decided it was worth it to invest in an app that gives them easy access to several forum sites... and definitely not as a service we want to push on everybody or overtly advertise. You could even make it policy that tapatalk users for the site please remove the 'posted from tapatalk' signitures here. =)
Showing up in their 'browse' section will get you all a few more hits...
Okay, I'll shut up, I'm just thrilled at the idea of ease of use for salvation on my phone! A mobile version sounds outstanding, don't get me wrong - but I'm somebody who's paid for and enjoys Tapatalk.

I appreciate your input. We'll definitely reconsider.

Oh, and another thing is that it hooks quite deep into vBulletin, so we'd have to thoroughly test it, since we customized vBulletin quite heavily over the years.

Tapatalk not being free sucks, I agree. However, most people who are forumgoers use more than just one forum. So even if they just use 3 forums the price for MTGS would be less than $1. Certainly MTGS is worth $1 to these people, right?

Generally I prefer to just use my phones browser (Safari in my case) to check out various forums. However, if I know I'm going to be posting something Tapatalk generally works a lot easier.

$1 is FREE IMHO... if that's the cost of TapaTalk, why would you ever be hesitant?

I wouldn't use it in the first place. I have no problem browsing MTGS in full mode.

*just thought I'd chime in a differentiating opinion.

I think it would be nice if there was a universal mobile forum reader... I am a big fan of standardized stuff... that's why I like Apple so much, their ecosystem works together

I don't use the mobile app versions of sites that I visit, but I do use the Tapatalk version of every one that allows it. I like having one app for them all, not a different app for each one.

The full site works on my Android, but I really like having the Tapatalk "participated in" tab to quickly check responses to threads I've replied to.

Any updates on this? I'm a huge Tapatalk user on my phone. It saves data, loads faster, and makes navigating and reading really long threads much easier.

I definitely understand about the cost and vBulletin stuff. I've experienced what it's like when you install a plugin and it breaks something. Not fun.

Yes please enable tapatalk, I use it for many forums and it would be very nice to use mtgs forums with it as well.

I just tried the new android application. Good job guys! There's room for improvement, but I'm satisfied as it is. I still need to test the notifications and emails to have a better idea of its usability, but so far seems nice.

EDIT:

Turns out it needs a LOT of improvement. The app takes the user in the actual site itself, which is something one can do through their phone's browser. We still need a phone-friendly layout of the forum

So glad I found this. Having this forum available on Tapatalk would absolutely amazing. Navigating and using MTGS on Android mobile is a huge pain. I could see myself getting a lot more done on here through Tapatalk.
