Does this mean that we will be seeing more spirits? I used to play a tribal spirit deck and this makes me incredibly excited to read.

People seem to forget spirits was an actual deck a block ago.
Considering we just got a 4-5 star power spirit, plus orzhov being a heavy spirit guild, it is not unlikely spirits are going to be very strong again.

It only takes a 2 cmc spirit, to open the floodgates, something to keep an eye out for.

Yep, 1 good 2-drop (maybe a 1/1 flying spirit with Extort? or a 0/3 flying defender with Extort?) and Esper spirits will definitely be a thing. Sooo many good choices at the 3-drop spot, and now the Ghost Council comes in as a curve topper.

Sadly the best 2 drop spirit is green: Strangleroot Geist

There is also Mindshrieker, which has some decent synergy with Lingering Souls.

Spirit decks nowadays focus on Spirit Tokens, and thus have their 2CMC slot covered by Favorable Winds or Intangible Virtue, so it doesnt necessarily need a 2 drop spirit to be decent.

Im also not seeing a 0/3 Extort spirit. I can see the card happen but it wont be a spirit.

I don't mean to derail, but that article mentions that Detention Sphere doesn't work on counsil. Why?

Because you can only play D. Sphere on your own turn, and by then Obzedat has exiled itself until it's controller's next turn, so by the time you play the Sphere, there's nothing to target.

Oh! I thought it just blinked out and in again at EOT to activate its ability and any extort creatures. Now I see what the fuzz is about, that thing is crazy! Thanks.
