How so? Unless they reprint Ponder or Brainstorm, Delver won't see the competitive play it used to. Without library manipulation Delver just isnt that good.

Index.

Haha, just kidding. I don't think Delver is that far off from being viable again though. Two more spells would probably get it there.

A cantrip cipher for under 3 mana WILL make delver viable again, though not as consistent as it was with ponder.

No it won't. The problem isn't just lack of ponder or leak. Its abrupt decay and supreme verdict would instantly push delver back into t2 or worse status if it was popular again.

You're playing Slitherhead. That's how you're missing out. I think you should be disqualified from having an opinion regarding competitive deck design.

OGC has an ETB effect that's relevant versus all archetypes, is fairly mana efficient (5/5 for 5 is not bad) and dodges all sorcery speed removal. I don't want to think about Facing a Junk midrange deck playing Lotleth troll, Dreg Mangler and OGC, while I'm stuck with Supreme verdicts and Azorius charms.

Off topic but it is played competitivly (not slitherhead but tragic slip). In fact all control decks that have access to black use it as at least a 1-2 of that I"ve seen in standard. Its a solid removal spell. Thinking a good card is an amazing card doesn't quite merit someone from not having an opinion.

_______

On topic

Obzedat seems like a quality finnisher in standard. I don't see it making much of a splash outside as all other formats (excluding limiited) have great instant speed removal in near every deck.

I was speaking of Slitherhead. That's unplayable trash. Also the only deck I've seen performing anywhere that used tragic slip is B/G agro but I do concede that it's not a bad card.
