I think if the cost would be 5 and not 4 + one snow lots of cubes would play this card. Its colorless removal that does not take a spell slot.
I am considering to just ignore the snow symbol on the card and treat it as a normal cost. Thoughts?
Just fill the land box with snow lands. Problem solved. I think it is too slow even then since it essentially costs six and a land sac to activate. It doesn't do enough damage to kill finishers and is too slow to stop aggro rush...
I think the card is fine, it's a land drop that can function as removal. Sure, it's a bit slow, but really what can you expect from a land that can kill x/4s? It's not something I'd depend on as my only piece of removal, but it's a nice card that you can throw into a control deck with little to no penalty and get some value out of later in the game.
It also isn't restricted to attacking/blocking/etc creatures, which is nice.

This is all true, but the same can be said for other lands, and often it is not enough to justify a Cube slot for these lands. Removal is very relevant, so Mouth of Ronom is in a better position than most of these lands, but still.

It's not just removal, it's super powerful removal... It's 4 damage that avoids protection, and has no restrictions, along with being repeatable if you have something like Crucible of Worlds.
The ability to kill haste creatures later in the game, or in response to an equip trigger, is pretty good. Yes, it's 6 mana, but in a control deck you want to have more lands, and this goes right into a control deck.
I ran this in my cube list for a while, but no one had decks that survived long enough to use the card. I've always thought control decks want efficient answers, and while this card has undeniable upside, it's not efficient - anything you could kill with 4 damage likely would have helped kill you before turn 6. Do you want to tap out and spend 6 mana to kill their 1-4 drop (but not 5 or 6 drop?).
It was certainly disappointing once playing it since I wanted the card to play out well. For land based snow card advantage, I'd rather run scrying sheets - and even then, the return on the card is only 1/4 or something like that - figuring your deck only has snow lands for snow cards minus nonbasics.
As Waffles said Mouth is a card that doesn't take up a deck slot, but also has some cool interactions with cards like Crucible of Worlds, Primeval Titan, and even Life from the Loam. The only real interaction Effigy has is Trinket Mage and that's far more cube dependent than the cards listed for Ronom. It's also important to note that Mouth of Ronom goes into control decks that want to go heavy on lands, and as such their desire for a higher land count leads to a need for lands that can preform utility tasks, such as Mouth.
