Default [MOR] Bosk Banneret, Warren Weirding, and Research the Deep (rumoured)

I've gathered a few more low-hanging fruit from the rumour tree for you...
Spoiler:

Bosk Banneret 1g
Creature - Treefolk Shaman (c)
Treefolk spells and Shaman spells you play cost 1 less to play.
1/3

This card may look quite familiar! Yes, it's exactly what you'd expect at this point in the cycle.

Research the Deep 1u
Sorcery (u)
Draw a card. Clash with an opponent. If you win, return Research the Deep to its owner's hand.

Again, this card was to be expected, given Release the Ants. The cycle appears to be a vertical in red, with Titan's Revenge and Fire Juggler (sort of), so can we expect to see more clashing card-drawing? If Morningtide gives us more ways to set up the top of the library, as promised, then this might be fun.

Warren Weirding 1b
Tribal Sorcery - Goblin (u)
Target player sacrifices a creature. If a Goblin is sacrificed this way, that player puts two 1/1 black Goblin Rogue creature tokens into play, and those tokens gain haste until end of turn.

Here's the spell the Weirding Shaman is casting (more or less)! It's a Sorcery Edict that's not quite so effective against an opponent playing Goblins, and a way to bump up your own Goblin count that plays into the boggart sacrifice/rebirth theme. It's a shame that you can't use it as a combat trick, but it'd have to cost more then, I guess.
That's all, for now...

Hmm... Interesting cards. I like Warren Weirding, could be useful as you can use it as a positive for you or a negative for them.

Yey!!! more cards...

Bosk Bannerete, will definitely see play, especially that treefolk are starting to look good once Morningtide comes out, and this is the card to make it even better. Too bad, Doran doesn't benefit from this card with an
gbw casting cost

Research the Deep
, so there is a cycle of return to hand cards like Titan's Revenge, there must be an unc cycle and a rare cycle of it. On to the card: Not bad, although I will feel better if this card is an instant, but that would make it even better..

Warren Weirding
, hmmm Diabolic Edict for Goblins, plus it is a tribal goblin itself, making it 1 to cast with a Bannerete in play, plus you can make yourself sac a creture to get 2 more goblins, with Mogg War marshall out I can get 3 Goblins instead of just 1, and they have haste as well, except the one from War marshall.. Too bad if your opponent sacs a changeling or a goblin he gets the token himself...

Oh wow. They're really pulling out all the stops with card-draw, huh? First that crippled Braingeyser, and now this!

Lol, the Warren weirding makes more roge tokens, this + oonas Blackward.... I sacrifice my 1/1, atack with 2 2/2 (counting you have only one) and then you discard cards...

10/1

It still dies to Path, Bolt, Terminate, Doom Blade, and Fallout! That must mean it's fine! Sounds like a printable card to me!!! /sarcasm

Bosk Banaret is awesomesauce for getting Leaf Crowned Elder in play on turn 3 while still staying within the Treefolk/Shaman creature type. Sickness.

But what really makes me salivate is Warren Weirding. "Hello Warren Weirding, meet your new best friend Wort, Boggart Auntie". Devastating, Cruel Edict every turn! Especially versus the bound to be pesky Treefolk

What's really great is it's also not a dead card versus Control since you can just make tons of tokens... Man I love that card!

It is, nevertheless, welcome - the 2-slot is the only one the Treefolk really have spare, and they've now got a good mana curve that allows the 5-cost Timber Protector to start seeing play. A bit tougher to kill than the others, as a bonus.

My initial speculation on seeing Titan's Revenge seems to have been spot-on - the clash buyback is going to be a fixture of the set rather than an isolated ability. It's a lot cheaper than Whispers of the Muse, but then that hasn't seen play since it came back, with people opting for Think Twice instead. This is a less reliable proposition than either.

Now this is very interesting. Diabolic Edict when used on an opponent, Empty the Warrens with a discount when you play it. I suspect this will see more use as creaturekill than as a token maker, but I still prefer it to Weirding Shaman.

The weirding is interesting to say the least. It can be good creature kill, it could also backfire when your opponent has a fire-belly changeling or any other cheap changeling. I like it though

Weirding +Wort is quite sick.

Research the Deep is sadly worse than the other clash/return cards, simply because you cannot as easily predict the card you're going to be clashing. Gilt leaf seer can sort of dig for it. - It would have been better if it has been clash, then draw.

Me likey the goblin removal... in Classic anyway. A tutorable/ringleaderable removal spell for B/R goblins? Sure, why not? Oh, and it also turns a useless goblin into two goblins for better piledriver attacks. Seems like a decent enough card to me. Not to mention that the warchief drops it to B... Might not see play in Eternal formats, but I'm certainly going to try it out.

I'm happy to see another 2 drop for treefolk, especially one that drops the CC of other trees. I've been running Woodland Changlings...

The Wierding is all kinds of amazing just because it's tribal.

Research the Deep: Okay, with Mulldrifter and Think Twice in T2 this won't see play, especially at sorcery speed. But, I bet MOR has some hidden goodies that may make it more palatable.

Reseach of the Deep would be playabe if it were an instant. Think Twice takes the show here.

Warren Wierding seems OK, but Edicts haven't been really good in T2 at the moment due to Birds and Elves and extended has better variants.

The Treefolk Bannaret on the other hand looks very good and fills a nice gap that the Treefolk Deck had.

Well, my guess would be that there is a blue uncommon one with:

2UU
Instant
Counter target spell. Clash with an opponent. If you win return ~this~ to it's owner's hand.

This would be somewhat sick in Extended with Top, I'd say. Those two cards together would be kind of like Counterbalance, but you could counter anything, not just the things have CMC for. Interesting idea.
