Default [MOR] Lunk Errant and Redeem the Lost (rumoured)

Filling out a few gaps...

Spoiler:

Lunk Errant 5r
Creature – Giant Warrior (c)
Whenever Lunk Errant attacks alone, it gets +1/+1 and gains trample until end of turn.
4/4

At last, confirmation that Lunk Errant is a red Giant, as we suspected - and a pretty straightforward common creature, to boot.

Redeem the Lost 1w
Instant (u)
Target creature you control gains protection from the colour of your choice until end of turn. Clash with an opponent. If you win, return Redeem the Lost to its owner’s hand.

Here's the white uncommon in the clashback cycle, with a standard white effect. Even though I like this kind of white trick, it's not that exciting, as you'll lose the element of surprise even if you win the clash. Gimme shelter!

Shelter indeed. These are both rather mediocre cards liable to end up as 12th+ pick in drafts.

Nothing impressive at all.

Thanks for filling our gaps. It tickles.

Basic fillers, however i must say that Redeem the Lost is intresting in limited. Moreso than the blue one of carddrawing at least.. Neither is constructed worthy though in my opinion.

thanks
Not sure if they're accurate and stuff... but assuming they are, nothing there for constructed. 5/5 trample (at best) for 6, meh! And like you said, the other one loses the element of surprise. I don't much like clash.

Not exciting at all. Redeem might prove to be a rather annoying tool in limited, but lame all the same.
Anyway, nice finds. A big tap on the back to all rumormongers that had the info pouring these last few days. Keep up with the good work folks.

Lunk Errant- It's either a mediocre 4/4 red giant for 6 or if you have no other creatures to attack with its a limited worthy 5/5 trampling red giant for 6. Obviously no constructed value and very little limited value.

Redeem the Lost- Yes it's a worse Shelter, still it's an okay limited combat trick and if you clash works once it's actually worthwhile. Constructed jank though.

Woah, I'm surprised you guys are giving redeem no credit. It's not like the surprise factor is all that relevant here. It's good for screwing with combat either way.

If you win the clash, you can use it multiple times in the same combat. Otherwise it's still a card that will trade for an enemy removal spell or creature. Not bad in limited at all, imho.

I kinda agree with you. I kinda like this card too. I will probably test it to see how good it is.

Redeem the lost is great as it is actually useful with kinship in limited at least: "oh I see a fattie all my creatures get protection from you colors, alpha strike, etc".

Lunk Errant - This set's Bog Hoodlums... kinda. It can be played in some circumstances (Limited, of course), but I'd hate to have this in my deck.

Redeem the Lost - If only they were willing to exchange "creature" for "spell or permanent", then white would have a tournament-worthy card in this set. But alas, it was not to be.

I would play the Giant in sealed, it is quite splashable there and a 4/4 that can become a 5/5 trample is a very decent body. Unlike the Hoodlums that are just craptacular.

The lunk seems decent. He fills about the same slot as Axegrinder in a giant deck, but has the virtue of trample, which frankly is pretty huge in a giant deck. The attack alone clause is annoying, but if you're swinging with multiple giants, you're probably well on the road to winning anyway.

I don't know how I feel about the clashback cards in general. I don't think this one's that potent, but I like tricks, so we'll see.

Redeem the Lost does lose its surprise factor if you win, but on the other hand it makes your opponent play around it. They may not kill a creature with burn knowing you can just protect it again. They might wait until they know they can kill which leaves it as a threat on the board. I agree that it is not amazing, but winning does cause your opponent to have to play around it, making it a little more useful.
