This thread is to be used as a reference tool before posting anything concerning Shadowmoor in the rumor mill, and also to keep track of the progression of information on the set thus far. The first post will be kept updated until it’s time for the partial spoiler to take over.
Logo Symbol Set Name Shadowmoor Block Set 1 of 2 in the Shadowmoor Block Number of Cards: 301 (80 rare, 80 uncommon, 121 common, 20 basic lands) Release Date: May 2, 2008 Prerelease Tournaments: April 19-20, 2008 Previews start on magicthegathering.com: March 31, 2008 Minisite: here Characteristics of Shadowmoor
Product line The Fat Pack has been redesigned. It now includes 2 additional booster packs (8 total), one deck box, and no tab divider cards. Precons The Shadowmoor Theme Deck Display contains 5 different theme decks.
Cards See: Partial spoiler and http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x...review/shmpack Antoine Ruel’s Invitational card Sometime after the release of FS, MaRo stated that the Antoine Ruel’s Invitational card would appear within the coming year but not in Lorwyn (the set). It wasn’t in Morningtide either. The secret card is a replacement for Bibi//Sleur, which is now confirmed to be a bad joke. The card will either appear in Shadowmoor or Eventide. Art See:
The book releasing in conjunction with Shadowmoor is an anthology, a collection of a novella and short stories. The novella is by Cory Herndon and Scott McGough and continues the events of the Lorwyn and Morningtide novels. Then there are eight other short stories. When the Great Aurora comes . . . The daylit world of Lorwyn is no more, its beauty forgotten by all but a precious few. The other souls have descended into a darkness that mirrors the sky above their heads, and unthinkable horrors lurk in the ever-present shadows of a world gone bad. Table of Contents: "Ode to Mistmeadow Jack" by Scott McGough and Cory J. Herndon "Five Brothers" by Ken Troop "Paths" by Denise R. Graham "Mark of the Raven" by Jess Lebow "Meme's Tale" by Will McDermott "Pawn of the Banshee" by Doug Beyer "Expedition" by Matt Cavotta "Sootstoke" by John Delaney "The Cloudbreaker" by Jenna Helland Last edited by Hunter : 04-02-2008 at 08:33 AM. |

Given the raging debates in the Speculation forum, I'm not sure you can have a list of 'possible cards from Future Sight' without including half the futureshifts.
But it's good to see this thread up. Wizards started spoiling stuff too soon, huh :P |

still, mist meadow skulk and this are the two strong ones because cairns cares about ally, cares about hybrid and skulk is in mist meadow hehe (seriously, he cares about mana cost) |

If you put in Graven Cairns because of hybrid mana, why not Henchfiend of Ukor?

why rule out Phosphorescent Feast? thats perfectly likely!
but anyway you should look at the spoiled art thread someone made, and put the art here, like with MOR. ~Lil Kalki

Cairns would make perfect sense as a part of an allied-colors duals cycle seeing as all the hybrids so far are allied colors as well. Henchfiend would require Echo to return which is unlikely and Phosphorescent Feast just doesnt sound shadowmoor-ish to me.

Doesn't Cairn make reference to people and events that aren't in the world of Shadowmoor? I'm not exactly the best at these things, but it doesn't seem likely that Graven Cairns will be in this set.

Mistmeadow Skulk is pretty much certain, as the name of Goldmeadow changed to Mistmeadow. (Kinsbaile=Kinscaer, Wanderwine=Wanderbrine, Gilt-leaf=Wilt-leaf, Ballyrush=Ballynock)
And i like how the color wheel for the races is redesigned ![]() Elves![]() Giants![]() Cinderkin/Flamekin/Sootkin![]() Faeries+Merfolk![]() Kithkin

The card can preview upcoming mechanics and settings, but the setting doesn't have to house the mechanics per se.

One of the spoiled art threads has new art that looks like a redone Phosphorescent Feast, i think it's a totally viable selection. |

Phosporescent Feast I would rate as more likely than Graven Cairns simply because it's uncommon. Timeshifting a rare so soon might weaken its value as it would be more easily accessible than the others in the cycle.
Thornweald Archer is also a likely candidate. Its name doesn't contradict anything in the style guide (to my knowledge), and it's just as possible as Fomori Nomad.

graiven cairns has a mention of sengir in its flavor text and it has a vampire's face on one of the cliffs with blood coming out of its mouth. i don't think it'll be inside shadowmoor.

Anyway, as Boldwyr Intimidator shows, new art and flavor texts are possible for any and all future shifted cards.
