Default [SHM] Steel of the Godhead, Spell Syphon & Barrenton Cragtreads (rumored)

Hello again everyone, just saw a couple more cards this morning that we didn't have yet, to help fill out the spoiler list. I hope this helps our rumor season:

Steel of the Godhead (c)
2{w/u}
Enchantment
Enchant creature
As long as enchanted creature is white it gets + 1 / + 1 and has lifelink
As long as enchanted creature is blue it gets + 1 / + 1 is unblockable

Spell Syphon (c)
1{u}
Instant
Counter target spell unless its controller pays 1 for each blue permanent you control

and the quite boring and unoriginal:

Barrenton Cragheads (c)
2{w/u}{w/u}
Kithkin Scout
Cannot be blocked by red creatures
3 / 3

I've been on the lookout for some good rare cards for everyone here, I hope I can get some for you tomorrow. Thanks for letting me post them here guys!

Well there we go, it does look like there is a cycle of auras based on the Avatars, so the W/G avatar is something Oversoul.

So being white grants different abilities for the two auras, I suppose we can assume the other colors work the same. Looks like they all grant +1/+1. So maybe:

G/R = Green trample, Red firebreathing?
R/B = Red first strike, black wither?
B/U = Black regeneration, blue shroud?

Spell syphon seems good for Merfolk aggro, Fish kinda decks. The Cragheads seem to have a strange ability for w/u.

Thanks for posting.
Random fillers, I guess. None of them playable in a decent deck.

Default Assuming the info is accurate and real....

Steel of the Godhead (c)
2{w/u}
Enchantment
Enchant creature
As long as enchanted creature is white it gets + 1 / + 1 and has lifelink
As long as enchanted creature is blue it gets + 1 / + 1 is unblockable

Yeah, nice. Blue is the right colour for unblockable (referring to fact that black seems to have got it in this set, due to hybrid shenanigans). Decent aura.

Spell Syphon (c)
1{u}
Instant
Counter target spell unless its controller pays 1 for each blue permanent you control

Interesting, because blue decks typically don't have a ton of permanents out. Early game, it's crap, and therefore not good enough to see much play.

Barrenton Cragheads (c)
2{w/u}{w/u}
Kithkin Scout
Cannot be blocked by blue creatures
3 / 3

Crackheads?
Should it be "red creatures"?

I dig the Avatar aura cycle

Shouldn't the cragheads be red creatures? Which would mirror the one we have in the spoiler already...
'nathed...

Anyway, I LOVE powerful common aura cycles, (Magemarks, anyone?) and these are...amazing.

Well a lot of cycles. It seems there is indeed an aura cycle based on the avatars.

Steel of the Godhead: now here is a card that makes the kithkin ophidian more playable. I swing for 4 gain 4 life + a card and maybe even more life. Good stuff although not sure if that interaction is competitive enough.

Spell Syphon.... this is a pretty decent counter for fish deck, that drops small blue weenies and has this to counter wrath and removal. Especially in block where there are not many better alternatives.

The craghead looks like a very lazy and boring cycle to me. It is a pure limited filler and a very boring one at that. Also I think it would be for red creatures too.

That Aura cycle is amazing, especially since its all commons. The other 2 are kinda boring.

I wonder what the other 3 are gonna be?

...indeed, GOGO Diamondbro!!!

Don't feel too bad about filling in the spoiler, any new cards are all good brother, even if all of them are commons. Nice.

That counterspell really wants to get played in a blue aggro-control deck... Probably.
In a Faerie decklist, though, it pretty much acts as a condescend effect in a similar fashion as spellstutter acts as a spell blast, except it doesn't count Bitterblossoms or its tokens, which can make it much worse. It *might* replace my Snags this October, but never before. EDIT: No it won't. Snag is a great counterspell turn 2, 3, 4, or whenever. This card is jank.
In a straight blue control deck, I don't think you'll ever have that many blue permanents in play, though. I wish it was cost less somehow without actually costing {U} or something. It requires you put extra effort (having stuff in play) but I can't see it being one mana... Ugh. It's a hard card to assess. All in all, I won't be playing with it in anything I run.

UW creature with +2/+2 Unblockable Lifelink could be fun. I'm definitely going to attempt some kind of UW commons aggro-control deck to compliment my GW commons aggro deck. ;P

The blue creature is a 3/3 for 4 with *slight* evasion which isn't terrible for a blue common. Gogo UW common aggro-control!

This set is going to be just full of Limited bombs...I hope that Sealed doesn't just come down to who rips the better bomb.

Well I doubt it as these are commons so chances are you will see a lot of these cards in limited on either side. And the auras are a cycle so every color combo will have one, so not one will be left out.

Oh and thanks for the spoilers CrazyDiamond
