Default [SHM] Tainted Bond & Mischief of the Phooka

BAM two more enchantments for this Urza set

Tainted Bond

Enchantment (R)
Whenever a land comes into play under an opponents control that player loses 2 life and you gain 2 life.
Michael Sutfin
74/301

Okay... next one is a pain.......

Mischief of the Phooka

Enchantment (R)
At the beginning of your upkeep you may exchange control of a target non-land-permanent you control and target non-land-permanent an opponent controls with converted manacost equal or less than your permanent.
Scott Altmann
47/301

OKay... phew... I know the wording is a bit off... but compare to the german version:

Unfug des Phookas

Verzauberung (R)

Thats some rulestext...... note that our verbs are at the end of the sentences or at the end of enumerations. So tauschen=exchange

Wow. This is a set that's shaping up to transform multiplayer. Soooooo many cards that are going to make a splash in Free-For-Alls or Two-Headed Giant.

Of course that means that there's going to be a lot of constructed and limited junk, but I guess there's no pleasing everyone.

Why are there so many terrible rare enchantments in this set?

I like the Tainted Bond.. seems fun, but will not be constructed playable. Thanks again Nocturnus.

"Pooka", "pookas", "phooka", "phookas" all get 0 hits in the Orb, so the word in the card name must be some other synonym.

Lol, the German text of Mischief of the ?? looks hilarious!

I foresee potential disputes over card ownership, because not everyone is going to be careful about keeping track of who owns which card as they move around.

I like the second one, but I like everything that is Blue and copies or steals stuff.

Hmm, both seem pretty bad for their mana costs. Perhaps Mischief can be broken somehow, but I don't know how. Anti-Tarmogoyf tech? :P

I can confirm the translation. Though the name seems off, as it seems to be only one Phooka and the english version sounds like plural. could be a titel or something then it would fit.

We have 17 rare enchantments so far in this set. *barf*

EDIT: Try Puka in the orb.

Well, Mischief seems like a Spawnbroker every turn. That could be amusing.

"Mischief" is powerful in limited: you consistently trade your -1/-1 weakened stuff for their fancy creatures. It can even trade itself away in a pinch, but then they get to grab your thing back so it's probably not worth it.

The black enchantment is borderline playable (limited)...4 point life swings are fun, but I think he comes down too late to have an impact. Maybe if they have lots of fat or X spells.
