Hey there folks, here are some more cards that i think are missing or incomplete in the spoiler:
Heap Doll 1 Artefact Creature - Scarecrow Uncommon Sacrifice Heap Doll: Remove target card in a graveyard from the game. "I know one night it won't come back. Then i'll know it's trully done its job." - Breanna, cobblesmith 1/1 John Avon 253/301 I must say i love this little thing. Goyf, Tog, Flashback, Threshold ... beware ----------------------------------- Corrosive Mentor 2B Creature - Elemental Rogue Uncommon Black creatures you control have wither. Guttering cinders stoke their dying flames by snuffing out the lights of others. 1/3 Daarken 61/301 ------------------------------ Leechridden Swamp Land - Swamp Uncommon (tap: Add B to your mana pool.) Leechridden Swamp comes into play tapped. B, tap: Each opponent loses 1 life. Play this ability only if you control two or more black permanents. Lars Grant-West 273/301 ------------------------------- Raking Canopy 1GG Enchantment Uncommon Whenever a creature with flying attacks you, Raking Canopy deals 4 damage to it. "Raven's Run has awoken, and ravens will no longer cry in it's branches." - Roon Ghastbark Heather Hudson 127/301 Pew pew Faeries! --------------------------------- Wildslayer Elves 3G Creature - Elf Warrior Common Wither 3/3 Dave Kendall 133/301 Solid creature for limited. ------------------------------- This one is on the spoiler, but with one very important omission: Juvenile Gloomwidow GG Creature - Spider Common Reach Wither 1/3 Thomas M. Baxa 121/301 Maybe i am wrong (i dont do standard in general) but this thing can be the card that will help the elves matchup vs fairies. It either kills fliers or dies crippling them. -------------------------------- Gloomlance 3BB Sorcery Common Destroy target creature. If that creature is GREEN (edited!, my bad) or white, it's controler discards a card. Zoltan Boros & Gabor Szikszai 67/301 --------------------------------- Scuttlemutt 3 Artefact Creature - Scarecrow Common tap: Add one mana of any color to your mana pool. tap: Target creature becomes the color or the colors of your choice until end of turn. 2/2 Jeremy Jarvis 263/301 This will be one of the high picks in the upcoming limited format. Have fun ya'll! Last edited by Doodly : 04-15-2008 at 03:07 PM. |

So Juvenile isn't strictly worse than Canopy Spider
Gloomlance makes me wonder why its black or white and not green or white.

Raking Canopy is an SB BomB for Standard constructed!!
The 1cc Scarecrow opens a path to actually making a Scarecrow deck as well! (Now Mothdust Changeling isn't the only one drop scarecrow) |

The mentor is pretty sweet and Im probably gonna use the swamp, since its ability is pretty good. The canopy is a nice faerie/rogue killing machine.

It's good to see that not all 5 of the superBasic lands are crap, I think the swamp could def. see play.
Gloomlance looks odd, why does it care if the creature was black or white? shouldn't it bee green or white? EDIT: nath'd as well. |

I was wondering where all the limited cards were...now I know. Thanks again, Doodly
I'm not too big a fan of Scuttlemutt, actually - I doubt manafixing'll be at that high a premium in this set, and its lace *might* be, depending on your deck. Apart from the 3/3 can't be blocked cycle does anything else really care about colour? The Swamp is the best of the cycle in a general deck (the mountain/plains might beat it in a constructed deck designed to take advantage of it). All but the Heap Doll are solid (even Gloomlance, as unless you're playing vs a GR deck it should always be card advantage). I'd play all of them |

Nothing amazing, but some of this stuff is nice. More cheap scarecrows helps non-changling Reaper King decks (they still look to be casual only, but at least they now have a 1 drop and some mana accel).
The black land definitely looks like the best of the bunch, although that's not saying much. I'd expected it to be each player loses one life, since that seems to usually be considered on par with gaining one life, but each opponent losing one life is nicer. Still not sure if it's worth the CIPT most of the time, but at least it could be playable in limited for breaking stalemates. That would make a lot more sense. We already have a cycle of spells that gets better if their target is an enemy color, so Gloomlance would fit into that if was supposed to be green or white and not black or white. Especially considering black getting a creature destruction spell that's better against black creatures would just be weird.

So glad to see gloomlance, limited was looking somewhat worrying with the lack of answers to some of these bombs.
