Replendent doesn't come up in the orb, it should probably be Resplendent, which has 1 hit. Not a very good card, but Nasty with Judge of Currents!

Mentor is like bad wellwisher; but it could be useful for creatures with

abilities, which are often in white. Either you can get activations (potentially multiple) of their untap ability, or if it's a cheap but not useful one you get a bunch of life. On something like Silkbind Faerie (which is

I think to tap a creature) it could be nice.

Initiate is pretty much as could have been guessed. Pity they felt that an Ivory Cup was necessary; though it is the card that inspired the cycle, so I guess it's OK. This set seems to be full of cheap, ultraminor abilities on creatures like these Initiates and on the basic land type lads.

Oh, come on. What's with ridiculously overcosted creatures in this set? The Mentor could have costed 1W, and it wouldn't break anything. At 2W, it would be a fair limited card with no constructed applications.

If this will be my opponent's best 5 drop then I will be quite happy ! (Except if he has got many untap abilities.)

You're correct, of course, but there has to be some sort of fodder in the set.

There's too just too much of it in Shadowmoor, at least at rare.

The white mentor sucks in ways scientists until now thought to be theoretically impossible. Too expensive, in a cycle where all the other cards are good, and to cap it, it's main use appears to be stalling for a draw in sealed deck.

Hmm... didn't think about it like that, tapping two creatures and gaining two life for four mana is pretty awesomesauce in limited!

Apothecary Initiate- It's the white member of the initiate cycle and what a shock it gains you life AMAZING {tone of incredible sarcasm}. That said kithkin cleric is useful and it's a decent 1 drop for limited. Might make for a fun addition to a multiplayer/casual Battletide Alchemist deck.

Resplendent Mentor- This could be quite potent with a good white token producer but the 5cc really cripples it for anything besides limited. Good with

creatures.

Late game that Mentor could be vicious if you assemble the dreaded stalemate. As stated with untap guys he gets pretty bad too bad its white only.
