MTG Salvation

Since 'shopers are often called on to render cards, I thought it would be nice if they had a place to get all the set icons for MTG cards in a size they can use. For the time being, some of the icons will be from MWS themes, but eventually I hope to have a completely vectorized version of each symbol. It should be apparent which ones are already vectorized. If not, then I'm doing something wrong.

If you open the spoiler and there's a . in it, that just means I haven't gotten around to uploading the pics yet. I wanted to get the post up so people could use it fast.

Just a nitpick, if it matters, FPM: Mercadian Masques has C/U/U instead of C/U/R. Double silver. Also, Champions is missing the Uncommon symbol, but that's probably 'cause you haven't gotten there yet. Hope it helps (if it does).

As always, you prove your self to be a master at your craft. (I'm not sure about the on fire or the penguin part, but you deserve recognition anyways.)

Good catch. Yeah, looking at a mile-long string of forum code makes it easy to miss things. If you find any other errors, let me know!

Nice expansion symbols, though I think that the Black Lotus for alpha is a bit... unjustified. And what's the beta logo? I can't place it...

I didn't design these, so I don't know what the Beta logo is, tbh. I just pulled them out of the MWS theme files. If anyone has better ideas for the sets that don't actually have a Wizards-Approved expansion symbol, please do share it with us so that we can make it available.

I suggest a few things.

First, you should put each category in its own spoiler and then the multiple spoilers inside of that. The first post could have 6 spoilers originally and then expanded from there. more code, but only a few lines..

Second, DCI logos should go into special sets. Alpha, beta should be redone in roman numerals or the card face logo to match the others. The beta is godawful and the black lotus looks odd. I know you didn't make them..Other than that, good work FPM..

FPM you're the man. That is one of THE dopest additions to the artwork forum I've ever had the joy of seeing. Thanks for making this thread, your work, and helping.:)

EDIT: My other idea was to use the "A" and "B" from the Magic Medieval font used for 7ED frame card names.

I kind of like the alpha one but the beta one is too... obvious. I think they both should look a little more retro, but that's my opinion. Perhaps even a simple triangle for alpha?

also, Shards of Alara will need the Red "mythic" rare added into the icons..

Very true. Most of these are from MWS, so there really hasn't been a great deal of recent proofing for accuracy. If you look at the Invasion symbol (which I recently redid) I do plan on eventually updating all the symbols to that quality of image, so we have good-sized png and/or vectorized versions of all the symbols in their original form. That does mean that for sets like Alliances, there won't be different uncommon and rare ones, since they were originally all just black/white.

Is the image just not showing up for you? I'm not sure why it would be doing that... it works fine for me.

Excuse me Sire, but imo the SoA Symbol is way too much stretched in the top-down direction. I can't say that for 1oo % sure, but it's just my impression by looking at them. But maybe I just have never seen a SoA symbol at such a big scale. However, Just sayin'.

Updated a few (i.e, Shards )...and added Conflux and Master's Edition 2 for those who are interested.

The Fifth Dawn icons are gone. Don't mean to be nitpicky...

Sorry about that... I was in the process of updating those as well and was called away from my computer and forgot about it. They should be working now.
