Hey guys, never thought I would have a little rumor. I just got a newsletter which got a few images in it, I haven't seen the elf here but the kithkin tro was know but here is a better version.
The newsletter is in Dutch and there was a little hint in it, translated it would be something like this:
"Furthermore, like Magic: The Gathering sets of the past, Eventide too will reveal a glimpse of the next set.
Nothing else is unknown to us.. This is the rest:
Shadowmoor Elves take the main stage in Eventide. They live in a world of perpetual darkness, but a tiny spark of hope illuminates the darkness for this near extinct race.
The popular hybrid cost mechanism will be further expanded upon. Also several new mechanisms will be introduced that are based upon the themes from the last set Shadowmoor.
I think I translated it quite correctly

I bet we have a case of Jon Finkel sleeping with the girl, then never calling her again and she going bat #%^% crazy and writing this article case closed.
First PTQ top 8 6/13/09(1st) Second PTQ top 8 10/7/09(5th) Second at national Qualifier 5/15/10
Third PTQ top 8 2/12/11 (2nd)
Second at Alberta 2011's
Fourth PTQ top 8 3/17/12(8th)
GP Vancouver 2012 (18th)
WB elves would be one of the most unusual things they've done in a while, but they did move faeries out of green altogether, so not completely unheard of.
I would like to point out that since in Shadowmoor Kithkin were :symuw:, I don't think it's that farfetched to suggest maybe they will get some action.
Afterall, we ARE also speculating that the elf art corresponds to :symwb:, which is probably even more unusual as it's a common creature type that has almost always been green.
That being said, looking at art alone isn't enough to determine color, barring the blatantly obvious. After we saw Elvish Hexhunter's art on the Shadowmoor Orb of Insight people were all excited for a powerful elf. The fact it was a measily 1/1 for 1 mana was quite a surprise.
What I mean is that that elf could very well be green. And the Kithkin could very well be :symwr:, but I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out :symur:.
Finally, in terms of guessing based on art, it's hard to tell with anything that we expect to be black, because given Shadowmoor's dark theme, a LOT of arts will see black-ish.
Just my $0.02.

Asking out a girl is like trying to cast a first turn Necropotence. Sometimes the other player will have the Force of Will to say no. You shouldn't let that stop you from trying it.
I see no evidence whatsoever there is any color shift. Could I have the reason everyone thinks there will be one?
Well, if you check out the preview Eventide pack you'll notice all Enemy hybrids and no Allied. This means there won't be any Kithkin, for example. There might be white ones, and there might be blue ones, but if there are hybrid ones they'll be or :symrw:.
While it HAS been stated numerous times that we'll see new creature types crop up [don't know if they're brand new or just new to the plane], I don't think all of the hybrid attention will be given to the new ones.
And, for the nail in the coffin, in an article on MTG.com it was alluded that there is a elf in Eventide.
So, there's the evidence of color shifting. It's impossible that color shifting WON'T happen.
EDIT: Sarnath'd, although my post is more in depth.

the kithkin lookes like it will be the RW duo...i mena they will; prolly complete the cycle of duos so its pretty obvious to me at least that it has a good chance of it being that...
i would see it sumpin like this:
Embermeadow duo 1(r/w)(r/w)
whenever you play a red spell ~ gets +1/+1.
whenever you play a white spell ~ gains vigilance untill end of turn.
(3/2)
I'd definitely put down money that Kithkin are R/W in Eventide. B/W Elves sounds really, really cool to me. I mean, what else (I originally typed "what elves") could they do with them in Green? They've defined everything that is Green (fast aggro, mana producing, bonuses for all creatures vs. just one, etc), and B/W need something interesting.
As for the Kithkin, I know I'm personally ready for Boros Deck Wins 2.0. Bring it!
Won't thid Kithkin-nightmare ever end? *sigh* The arts are really cool, if only the second would show dwarves or humans or every other non-goblin non-kithkin type
Well... the good news... It's the last set featurning kithkins for a very very very long time (at least i definitly hope so).

*sighs* If you think about it, you know that the Elf isn't black-green: I know we can't judge by art alone, but the Elf is reaching for a flower, in a very, VERY dark place. The Elves of Shadowmoor rescue prettyness from all over the world. This Elf is doing just that, instead of slashing it away.
So I think we can safely assume that this elf is just green or green-white.

Yeah, I thought so too, but the blueish color reminds me of the aura's of the demigod cycle Perhaps something like: "Headband of ......"
But the most intriguing thing is that the set will hint to some next set. Possibly Alara... But how are they going to do that?...
I'm interested by off color elves

1. Baneslayer Angel 2. Birds of Paradise 3. Lightning Bolt 4. Honor of the Pure 5. Goblin Chieftain
My top 5 Zendikar cards:
1. Eternity Vessel 2. Chandra Ablaze 3. Beastmaster Ascension 4. Ob Nixilis, the Fallen 5. Rampaging Baloths
Other than Eventide will be sporting enemy hybrids as opposed to ally hybrids? There has to be a little bit of a shift due to that.
