I took about a week or so to fine tune this deck and tested it at my local FNM last night. I went undefeated (4-0-1 matches / 8-1 games) (Top 8: 2-0 matches / 4-1 games). Most of the night people said I was running Faeries, but I only run Bitterblossom.
Played Dragonstorm in my final match and won in 3.
Played the guy (and his deck (or hybrid of)) that won 1st in regionals in Dallas last week and won in 3.
1st Match vs GR Elves (red for burn)
G1 - A lot of elves out early, Damnation, countered threats - hooked hammer up to a 4/4 Epoch and countered/pact'd stuff from there on out.
G2 - 2 Bitterblossoms out early, Ghastlord, used Beseech to fetch Mirrorweave, copied Ghastlord to Faeries for the win.
2nd Match vs guy/Deck that won Dallas regionals last week (or hybrid of)
G1 - Landed 2 Goyfs early, I was mana screwed (only 3 whole game), could never stabalize and lost.
G2 - Pecked away with Bitter tokens, warhammer on Epoch, Profane for the win. --- extremely close match --- He had a Bitter out, and Oona, Queen of the Fae.
G3 - Mirrorweaved Bitter tokens for Ghastlords for the win.
3rd Match vs Merfolk
G1 - Cleared board, countered threats, won swinging with a Ghastlord hooked to hammer (7/4 unblockable with lifelink!!!)
G2 - Mirrorweaved Bitter tokens for Ghastlords for the win.
4th Match vs RB Land destruction / Demigod of Revenge
G1 - Epoch attached to hammer won it for me.
G2 - He got mana screwed, I had two Epochs on the board.
5th Match vs ---- Drew for us both to go Top 8.
Top 8
1st Match vs B(?) Discard deck (Stupor, Oona)
G1 - Stupor hit me early, but countered next two Rune Snags, won with Bitter token on hammer.
G2 - Countered Stupor and Etirpated them, countered Oona, He profaned me for 6 and brought back Oona, Used Oona to make 2 Faerie tokens, I played Cryptic to tap them and swung with 2 hammers on 2 Faeries and 2 other Faeries.
2nd Match vs Dragonstorm
G1 - Had Mind Shatter in hand, but got greedy, he went off on turn 6 or 7 for 19, and I just laid Bitterblossom... died at my upkeep.
G2 - Turn 1/2 Thoughtseized & Extirpated Rite of Flame, countered Lotus Bloom & Extirpated.
G3 - Mind Shattered his hand for 3.
Throughout the night I was able to hook the hammer to a faerie to offset the life loss of Bitter or beats. I would use Tolaria West to hunt down Pacts when needed. Overall the deck played very smooth. Storage lands came in handy big time.
looks like a really cool deck, -1 pact of negation, +1 cryptic command? this is a realy cool original idea. never thought about bitterbllossom tokens, mirrorweave, ghastlord. hmm cool.

Is your plan to play Ghastlord and then weave it into your tokens, if you have 5 tokens you get an instant kill, or massive discard at least.
I can see the deck being very powerful.
I can't think of anything to add. Maybe the warhammer could be a bit to slow, tendrils could be faster to get some creatures off your back and I assume that the extra 3 damage from the hammer isn't that important.
So lemme get this straight... You play Bitterblossom to get your little faeries out and then play Mirrrorweave on Ghastlord? All the while killing and controlling your opponent's side of the board. Seems interesting enough...
I played with & against this deck multiple times tonight. The beauty of Mirrorweave is that it has a very high chance of being a finisher.
Barry swung at me with 3 faerie tokens... I declare blockers, they are all flyers so I can't block. 3 damage right? Wrong. He Mirrorweaves Witherscale WormAFTER the declare blockers step. He swung for 27.
Ouch.
I never won against the deck tonight, and never lost with it. Amazing deck. The Pact of Negation at 3 works very well. Play test it and you'll see why.
It would give you an instant kill Wrath if you could Mirrorweave A legendary Creature, To bad you cant. If you could that would be sick... But Props on the deck I actually like it and I hate Control Builds.
Yeah, more then one person thought I ran faeries last night, but I suppose bitterblossem can make you think that way.
As far as the pacts go, I found 3 of each to perfect. I really want the pact when I am ready to go off for mirrorweave. If I play a counter deck or anything that could halt my alpha strike, I dont want to wait until I have 8 mana for both pact and cryptic.
Also, as sweet as Ghastlord is, he is mainly there in case my opponents aren't running anything that would be good to mirrorweave into. Of course him equipped with a hammer can almost get a gg.
I like the 2 mutavaults cause it only costs 1 mana to make em a creature, thus freeing up mana for mirrorweave or whatever.
Its nice when someone evokes a cloud threasher to kill my faeries and I make them mutavaults in response....
The storage lands also make the pacts easy to deal with when it comes time to pay up.
Whats cool is that I dont need the combo to go off....I won several games by beating face with a 7/4 life link, trample epochrasite. There just arent that many answers for that.
Oh, and the mindshatter and mindspring, give me something for beseech for (which also can go get part of my combo for me if needed) and use those storage lands for. The mindspring is mainly for late game, and yes I used it to reload 6 cards....the mind shatter is cool too, but I dont really want to draw it early, just late game, right after they harmonize or something. The pacts can make sure it goes through for a full mana tap. Again, I run them for the option of using them. Beseech means I run 3 of each main deck, at least thats the way I see it. I also never found myself in topdeck mode since I really wasnt playing cards, once bitter and epoch hit, me creatures took care of themselves, I just maintained until I was ready to mirror. (or just beat em with a 4/1 lifelink faerie for 4 turns.
Tolaria West worked as a blue beseech as well, used it to go grab a slaughter to kill the red 6/6 angel in the dragonstorm deck.
Glad you guys like it.
ps. Hey, Murph, how did you like the quick and toast deck? That was what you were running right? That deck looks so sweet.
I might play this at my regionals next week. I like the list, though i dont see what PC is doing for you. I will test -2 PC, -1 each pact, +1 epoc, +1 BtQ, +1 cryptci, +1 teferi or ghastlord.
The Profane Command is a potential game winner. I had Profane in hand with 5 mana. 3 damage to the dome, 3 (4/4) Epochs with fear, and a Ghastlord swinging. It was GG.
I know the pacts look like too much, but 3 of each work very well with this deck. As previously stated, Teferi is legendary, thus not able to work with the weave. Plus he has no evasion. If you are only adding him for more control know that it probably isn't needed.
While I am sure that there are some sweet tweaks for the deck, I would have to disagree with boarding out Profane and 2 of each pact. Take a quick look at the land....I run very litte basic. Magus has the potential to wreck this. I saw him once at FNM, at the end of his turn I Slaughter Pact Magus and moved on to my next turn with no fears. I thought about 4 Cyrptics, but more often then not when I play tested, I would have 1 or 2 cyrptics in hand along with mirrorweave. I couldnt play mirror cause it was vs a counter deck, or worse some deck running holy day or some such. I would waste the alpha strike and lose tempo. Once I upped it to 3, it was like I tap out to make muta a creature and play mirror copying a hellkite, he trys to burn one of dudes in response since he would die with 4 tokens and a mutavault being 5/5's, then PACT....
If I knew it was a win, and they had a cloudthresher out, I would be able to do the same thing but use slaughter to clear the way after I mirrorweaved my tokens into cloudthreashers of course
Profane is just another win condition that is awesome, one game at FNM I did -5 to a sower to get back a faerie he stole, and brought back a Ghastlord he had countered....mirrored the next turn, gg. I have also won more then one game with the direct life loss Profane does, those storage lands come in handy big time for stuff like that.
Also, be careful about adjusting land making it too much colorless land like more dreadships or more mutavaults, I ran 4 mutas before, and would run into problems not being able to cast Ghastlord or, yikes, cryptic when I needed too....
Good luck with it if you run it, and report back!!!
Wow. My bad thinking of too many things.
I was thinking of a different trick with weave that my group is saving for block constructed. Still think Oona should be in the maindeck.
Just noticed that this looks a bit like the deck I ran at regionals: http://www.essentialmagic.com/Decks/View.asp?ID=630662
It actually looks more like the updated version (updated 6/9/08) though. I kinda like the use of the Pacts. I may have to look into that. I've been playing a similar deck on MTGO as well... it's basicly Ghastlord, Inkfathom Infiltrator, Shadowmage Infiltrator, and Venser, plus a little Helm of the Ghastlord action. Shadowmage + Helm = massive card advantage.
I just looked over your deck, and it does seem a bit similar to mine. The main idea of bitter and mirror is there along with ghastlord, but from there we sort of have different decks aside from staple counters like rune and cryptic.
Anyways, its goes to show that there is a killer combo with weave and bitter if other people are thinking of it.
After looking at your deck I would loose the the inkfathoms and the shadow mage. You really need life gain, warhammer (4/1 Fae with lifelink is money) so you wont die to bitters. And drop the mutavault count down to 2 and get rid of the reflecting pools, I would notice so many times when I ran lots of colorless land that I would get mana screwed early. FOr sure take the ruins down to 2 or 1.
Also I would run 3 damnations main deck. Still not sure about oona in this though. I would hate a hand with ghast and oona in it. Would rather have some kinda control card instead....
Good luck tweaking it bro!
I wonder if anyone else is running something similar?
Very interesting idea. Looks like it's very well functioned, but a little early to pilot it at a regionals. I would recommend playtesting it against faeries, elves, and ramp some more though, seeing that they look the most potential threats to the deck. Faeries can have multiple counterspells in hand, along with their own blossoms and scion, and they are very resilient post board, with seizes coming in, and perhaps damnations if needed. They're still the top tier deck for a reason. Elves is just a well tuned rock machine that encompasses board control, with card disruption and a very aggressive start. You may or may not need more answers to t3 colossus on the play, without a rune snag in hand. Lark and ramp both have excellent board control, with ramp having threshers, skreds to deal with your ghastlord, firespouts etc, and again colossus. Lark has the aspect of just out board controlling you, especially if you don't have a bitterblossom turn 2. It seems like mind spring and mind shatter sometimes may be your only chance to get back into the game long term, vs quick and toast, and lark, so leaving them in would be a good choice. Other then that, hope you have success with the deck, and perhaps I'm also thinking of sleeving up this archetype for a change of pace at my local tournaments.
Just found out about the mutavault thing. But one positive that I came across is that I could make everything copies of token faeries and kill something with the mutavault, or after he declares attackers for his alpha stirke and I need a silver bullet, I can make everything copies of mutavault, thus turning his creatures into land and removing them from combat. Sure he can reanimate them, but the declare attackers step would have passed.
Someone was asking me about win conditions with this deck other then combo of bitter, ghastlord, and weave....so here ya go:
Thing is I have 6 win conditions with this deck…the combo of course (tokens ghast and mirror), but then I also won games with Ghast and the hammer protecting him with my spells, Epocrasite with a hammer, faerie tokens with or without the hammer, or just weaving them into one of there creatures, and profane command with storage lands….
I have won games in each way….pact of negation sees stuff like profane command etc, through while I am fully tapped out.
Hope that helps anyone thinking of running it.

pretty slick to say the least.
My original thought was to ask how a singleton mind Shatter was working for you then I saw your SB and saw 2 more. must be working out.
How does/did Mind Spring do for you? Did you ever play it? Seems like it's eating a spot for another spell but all in all this real nice.
