Default [EVE] Double Cleave and Loyal Gyrfalcon (rumored)

More unsolved mysteries from the S-files....

Data from several sources now seems to confirm that Double Cleave indeed does what everybody has expected it to do:

Double Cleave
Instant (C)
Target creature gains double strike until end of turn.

Also this Birdie came sitting on my shoulder:

Loyal Gyrfalcon
Creature - Bird (U)
Defender, Flying
Whenever you play a white spell, Loyal Gyrfalcon loses Defender until end of turn.
3/3

Double cleave is the nice cap to the creature you've just loaded all your pump spells onto. Loyal Gryfalcon looks like a solid limited pick.

Both these cards seem REALLY good for limited.

Double Cleave is going to turn poor blocks into GG in so many limited matches, especially on something like Scuzzback Marauders

Double-Cleave - a solid combat trick.

Loyal Gyrfalcon - pretty sweet actually; very nice in Limited.

I really like double cleave. It could be good in my mono-w soldiers. a double strike, flying, vigilance 9/9 would hurt like hell. and i even have slots for it.

The Loyal Gyrfalcon on the other hand, makes me cringe. I realy dont like it...

The ironic thing is that while in most blocks Double Cleave would be awesome, here Psychotic Fury would be so much stronger.

Double Cleave is actually Stndard playable in the right deck. Just now I was thinking about my Doran build, with this as a combat trick, I can smash for 14 points of damage turn four with an ideal hand. And its uses extend to every other potential attacker.
Very scary card, especially with G/W's strength and R/W's assumed strength in EVN.

Good to see you Colonel. Scarlet here reporting for duty. Great cards sir! Instant doublestrike is a long awaited yet eagerly anticipated feature.

Double Cleave is still playable in decks only running red or white an can be used on anything, which makes it more flexible and better overall IMO, even is this block.

giving a creature double strike is going to be so awesome on a wither creature, especially if you drop the opposing creature's power to less than the toughness of your guy with the first hit

Well I'm loving both Double Cleave and the Gryfalcon. While I won't play the Gryfalcon anywhere other then limited, the Cleave will go in a couple of my decks for sure.

Nice one white! Double Cleave is what everyone expected I think and the white defender is very good in limited! Great cards in my opinion!

I'm really liking the double cleave and i'm glad it was worded how we thought. I think this will see alot of limited and constructed play. Playing it on any of the unblockable creatures or anything with evasion at the moment could be devastating. Also liking the gryfalcon although it is not a stand out card. Thank you colonel white.
