Thats some really hot art. The card seems fine in limited.

Decent body and good ability, might find a home in the Affinity-esque Merfolk.

This is extremely powerful. As long as you're even just spending your mana and swinging in, this thing is fairly monstrous pretty much all the time (or at least on your turn). Things get even better if you start talking about cards like Snap or Time Spiral, or even just Merrow Reejerey.

So in Limited, it's swinging for at least 4 on turn 4. And it only gets better.

That is rock solid.

Just so everyone understands how good this is, count your non-enchantment permanents every turn, and that's how much this swings for normally. whew!

yes because we don't have enough undercosted green creature between the 2/2 for G, 4/3 for 1G, vanguisher, tarmogoyf etc etc :P

The new green/blue liege cares about untapping. This card could have easily been hybrid.

It probably was until the testers broke it 10 different ways and they had to lose the green...

Wow! I love this!

Turn 1: Land + Cursecatcher. (Opp at 20)
Turn 2: Land + Loa. (18)
Turn 3: Land + Wake Thrasher. (14)
Turn 4: Land + Reejerey + Untap a land. Swing for 15. (-1)

Me like.

Ok hes a 4/4 the turn after you play him ready to attack if you have 0 other things in play except lands.

Then grows from there the only thing keeping this guy from insanity is the fact that hes a 1/1 most of the time.
