Arabian Nights Characters

Nailah
While most people on Rabiah have 1001 versions, one for each copy of Rabiah, Taysir only had 5, one for each type of magic. Prophecy had it that if the five where united, they would become the strongest planeswalker ever. Sorceress Queen Nailah sought to unite them and use their power for her goals.
She seduced the black version of Taysir and had him kill and absorb the green one. But then the black/green Taysir rebelled, and managed to warn the red Taysir, who merged with the white and the blue one. The Taysir eventually came back for the others, defeated Nailah and merged with his last living counterpart.
After Taysir planeswalked away, Nailah created a barrier around the 1001 Rabiah’s, preventing Taysir from ever returning.
There are many uncertainties around Nailah. Is she a planeswalker, or did she use the Ring of Ma’Rûf to travel between the Rabiahs? And was she the queen of all Rabiahs, or just one? Did she even survive the wounds Taysir inflicted on her?
We may never now…

Taysir
After ascending, Taysir travelled to Dominiara, where he fell in love with Kristina of the Woods. He is the author of one of the few remaining accounts of the Brothers War, and attended the Summit of the Null Moon, where he and Kristina resurrected Ravidel.
After the Shard was destroyed, Kristina left him, and Taysir was slowly driven mad by homesickness. Ravidel suggested that he should kill a planeswalker to breach the barrier around Rabiah, as Faralyn had done with the Shard. Taysir tracked down Leshrac, but couldn’t kill him, and instead imprisoned him in Phyrexia.
When he discovered that Kristina and Sandruu had become lovers, Taysir fought and banished the minotaur, and was than killed by Sandruu’s best friend, the planeswalker Feroz. His centre of consciousness was saved by Anaba Spirit Crafters however, who resurrected and rehabilitated him. Taysir stayed on Ulgrotha for a while, where he took the young planeswalker Daria as apprentice.
Taysir and Daria where eventually drawn into the planeswalker war on Corondor, but their exploits there are unknown, although they both survived.
Later, they where both recruited by Urza against Phyrexia. During that war Daria was killed by the traitor Tevesh Szat, and Taysir was murdered by Urza himself. However, his centre of consciousness survived jet again, and is now kept by Lord Windgrace of Urborg.
Phyrexia.com on Taysir

El-Hajjaj
A powerful wizard, and possibly one of the few people not copied in the refraction. HE is the father of Nailah and trained both her and Raghib in the arcane arts. He escaped his daughters wrath once, and hid in his castle with the blue Taysir, but after the White and Blue Taysirs merged, he came out of hiding, only to be found and killed by his own daughter.

Raghib
Fellow student and one time lover to Nailah. She used him to gather various objects she needed, such as the Ring of Ma’Rûf. When he had outlived his usefulness, she cursed him to live as a leper. He tracked down the white Taysir and stayed at his side, helping him find the others until their final showdown with Nailah, in which he was killed.

Princess Fatima
An insane planeswalker of ages past. She created the City of Brass, way before the refraction of Rabiah.

Sinbad, Ali from Cairo, Ma’ruf, Aladdin etcetera
Heroes from the ancient times. Read “The stories of 1001 nights” for more info on them.

King Suleiman
An ancient king from before the refraction, he was famed for his wisdom, and for the many djinn he held imprisoned.

Legends Characters

Pre-Rev Comics
Geyadrone Dihada

Geyadrone was/is an ancient planeswalker who was always looking for ways to improve her strength, usually by getting other powerful being to become her minions, voluntary or otherwise.
Dihada first appeared on Dominiara between the fall of the Thran and the Borthers War, waging war on the continent of Corondor. She was also present during the Planeswalkers War of Corondor. She hasn’t been seen since, save for a little cameo on the 5th Edition version of Lure.

Son of Carth, the Lion
This character has several title’s, though his true name was never revealed. He was a young man, probably around 18, who wanted revenge on Geyadrone Dihada for destroying his home town. He was captured however, and thrown into jail, where a disguised Dihada tricked him into summoning Dakkon Blackblade and linking Dakkon to himself. Dihada used this trick to make Dakkon more vulnerable, thus enabling her to force him into her legion.
After this misadventure, he and Dakkon made peace, and the two travelled to Terisiare, where the son of Carth founded House Carthalion, beginning the bloodline that spawned several of the greatest heroes and villains in the history of Dominiara.

Dakkon Blackblade
Once Dakkon was the most skilled blacksmith in the multiverse. He was approached by Geyadrone Dihada, and in exchange for the Blackblade, the greatest sword ever made, she triggered his spawn. Dihada tricked him however, stealing Dakkons shadow, denying him inner peace.
Years later, Dihada tricked a young man into summoning Dakkon, and neutering his planeswalking capabilities. Still a formidable foe, Dihada send some of her greatest warriors against him, but all where defeated, some even killed. But when Dihada faked a moment of vulnerability, Dakkon got to close to her, and she was able to place her mark on him.
Afterwards, Dakkon made peace with the son of Carth, and accompanied him to Terisiare. What happens to him afterwards is unknown, but Carth supposedly severed the spell linking the two together.
Ages later, Dakkon would be present during the Planeswalkers War on Corondor, although his exploits there are unknown. It is most likely that he was somehow freed of Dihada’s grasp, possibly by Jared Carthalion, the descendant of the man that was responsible for his enslavement.

Chromium Rhuell
An Elder Dragon working for Geyadrone Dihada, Rhuell fought Dakkon Blackblade, but was unsummoned by the planeswalker.
Years later, Rhuell started to work with Faralyn, befriending his spell squire Ravidel. Faralyn betrayed the two however, and used the energy of their deaths for his own exploits.
Ravidel ascended and used Rhuells bones to make a planar barge to keep his troops in while travelling from plane to plane.
Whether Chronium Rhuell and Chronium are the same dragon is unknown. It could be that Chronium had limited shapeshifting capabilities, or that Rhuell is a lesser Elder, possibly a descendant of the original Chronium.

Piru
Piru was a Lesser Elder, a direct ascendant of 5 Elder Dragon Legends. She was Chronium Rhuells life mate and served in Dihada’s army with him. She met an untimely end however, when she was ordered to fight Dakkon Blackblade and lost. Her energy was absorbed by Dihada.

Sol’Kanar, the Swamp King
Once the Maro-Sorcerer of Khone Forest on Corondor, Sol’Kanar was corrupted along his with his forest by Geyadrone Dihada. She gave him the Blackblade, and he became the leader of her troops.
After he lost a one on one battle with Dakkon, the Blackblade was taken from him, and his place in Dihada’s army was given to Dakkon. To regain the power he had lost, and to defend himself against the fallen angel who had started to conquer northern Corondor, Sol’Kanar and two women summoned the Scarzam Dragons, but one of the women betrayed Sol’Kanar and this lead to the war that would destroy Khone for good. This probably meant the end for Sol’Kanar as well.

Sivitri Scarzam
A woman who gained control over the Scarzam Dragons on Corondor some time after the original Dragon Wars. She was presumably defeated and resurrected ages later by Sol’Kanar.

Scarzam
A Lesser Elder Dragon. Scrazams followers later followed Sivitri, who assumed his name.

Chondaeh of Shikar
One of the woman who aided Sol’Kanar into summoning Sivitri Scarzam and her dragons. Chondaeh was the one who betrayed the Swamp King.

Gydolien M’r of Khone
The other woman aiding Sol’Kanar. Her name is suspiciously similar to that of Gwendolyn Mor’s, the mother of Jared Carthelion. Since overlapping storylines where more common in Pre-Rev days, this is quite possibly an ancestor of her.

Trine, the Fallen Angel
A Serra Angel that was corrupted by “a scheming magician” and used to conquer northern Corondor.

Rahel, Serra Angel
An angel summoned by Eskil to defeat Trine. Rahel later wrote down the story of Ravidel.

Eskil
The adopted son of Trine’s keeper. Eskil was the one who summoned Rahel. It blinded him, but that didn’t matter much, for he ascended shortly after, and became the Keeper of the White Woods. Mangara was one of his apprentices.

Legends Cycle 1
Johan

A very powerfull mage, that tried to conquer the country of Bryce.

Jaeger Ojanen
A mysterious Cat Warrior that fought Johan once.

Jedit Ojanen (of Efrava)
The son of Jaeger, who killed Johan. With a little help of a sand wurm.

Hazezon Tamar
Leader of a group of desert nomads. Fought alongside Jaeger and Jedit.

Adira Strongheart
Pirate queen of sorts. Allied to Hazezon.

Shauku, Endbringer
An ancient Jamuran vampire. Johan came to her for power, but was almost made captive himself.

Hunding Gjornersen
Apparently, Hunding doesn’t appear in the books, but pre-rev he was a companion of Adira and Hazezon.

Ur-Drago
A powerful creature that almost defeated Jedit, but was killed by the cat warrior in the end. Legend has it that his soul is kept in the Abbys.
This guy has nothing to do with the Ur-Dragon by the way. Their name’s are similar, but Ur-Drago is just a cool looking guy, while the Ur-Dragon is the perfect dragon from draconian myths. Ur-Drago isn’t even a dragon.

Stangg and his Twin
Stangg was the captain on a ship on which both Adira and Jedit sailed a long time ago. His twin might be an actual twin, or perhaps just the effect of some spell.

Xira Arien
Apprentice of Johan that got trashed rather easily. (See under Legends 2 cycle for more info)

Ramirez DePietro
Pirate who spend some time with Tor Wauki.

Tor Wauki
A bandit king that spent some time with Ramirez DePietro. (See under Legends 2 cycle for more info)

Jasmine Boreal & Princess Lucrezia
A druidess and a companion of Adira Strongheart, Jedit Ojanen and the others in their quest for Johan and Shauku.
PRE-REV
Although she championed light and purity, Jasmine Boreal was a zealot who believed that justice would meet all. Striking down all she considered evil, there are few others in Dominarian history who have been as murderous and destructive as Jasmine Boreal.

Legends Cycle 2
Nicol Bolas
One of the 5 Elder Dragons that survived the Elder Dragon Wars. He ascended and conquered many kingdoms across the multiverse.
He was so ancient that he needed massive amounts of Mana to remain in one world for long. Therefore he conquered the empire of Madara, which was rich of the black, red and blue mana he needed. He was exiled from Dominiara after Tetsuo Umezawa destroyed the shrine of Bolas that stood on the border of the 3 mana area's. He might even have been killed by Umezawa on the Meditation Plane.

Tetsuo Umezawa
Tetsuo was the champion of Madara and one of the most powerful battlemages ever. He became the champion because he hoped he could help the empire against outside forces and the ire of the emperor himself. But after he was forced to join the brutal campaign against the rebeleous Edemi islands he resigned the title of champion and turned against emperor Bolas and his regent Ramses Overdark. After he killed Bolas many forces in the empire strived to become the new emperor, and Umezawa was last seen making plans to make sure Madara would be ruled by someone worthy. Many people want him to take the throne himself.

Ramses Overdark
The Royal Assassin of the Madaran Empire. He furthered Bolas's cause trough stealth and schemes, but also longed to gain power for himself, and to replace Tetsuo and Elsdragon with people that would listen to him. After Tetsuo had resigned and Elsdragon replaced by a minion of Overdark, Bolas made Overdark the imperial regent, the effective ruler of Madara. But that didn't last long, for Tetsuo returned for vengeance and killed Overdark, absorbing his powers.

Tor Wauki
An archer, friend and second of Tetsuo. He had lived and trained with Umezawa since he was a child. Tor was drafted into the Kentsu for the campaign in the Edemi's.
This Wauki seems an entirely different person from the one in the first legends cycle, and is presumably an descendant of the legendary bandit king.

Ayesha Tanaka
Tetsuo's chief artificer. She was forced to serve in the Kentsu during the campaign against the Edemi's, during which she became sick because Overdark had poisoned the mana of Kusho. Searching for a cure for herself and her student Kei she took the Sylvan Library of Lord Magnus by force, but the power of the forest overwhelmed her. While connencted to the forest she was responcible for the defeat of the Kentsu in the Edemi's, in exchange for which she was cured of her poisoning.

Kei Takahashi
Healer-in-training and student of Ayesha Tanaka. When Overdark planned to frame Tetsuo for the attack on the Edemi's, he lured the champion to the islands by having Xira Arien plant her eggs in Kei and then having Arien fly off to Argenti. Kei slowly turned into an insect like Xira, but intervention of Ayesha and Tetsuo stopped the mutation before it was completed.
He was forced to serve the Kentsu in their campaign against the Edemi's. During this campaign he and Tor where attacked by Halfdane and Xira Arien, and they where both mortally wounded. Kei used his last strenght to heal Tor.

Kolo Meha
A sixt circle Bogardan fire-mage. He joined a Keldon warhost because a Bogarden pilgrim must journey the world to become a seventh-circle mage. The keldons where attacked by the Kentsu however, and sold Meha to get awya unharmed. Quitting the Kentsu after Jorgan Hage had killed Marhault Elsdragon, Meha joined Tetsuo's quest to overthrow emperor Bolas, and destroyed Overdark's mansion, thereby gaining his seventh-circle status.

Boris Devilboon
A Seer that worked for, and was killed and resurrected by, Ramses Overdark. He then became Dead Boris, who was destroyed by Tetsuo.
PRE-REV
Pre-Rev, Boris was a bogeyman for demons. This version of him appeared in one of the old Anthologies.

Xira Arien
An assassin working for Ramses Overdark. She lured Tetsuo to the Edemi's by planting her larvae in Kei Takahashi and flying off to Argenti, which was part of a plan of Overdark to frame Tetsuo for the attack on the Edemi's. Tetsuo later killed her.
She could be the same person as the Xira from the first legends cycle, for we do not know what age the Eumidian species can reach.

Lady Orca
Once a minor battlemage, but turned into a giant twisted 'siege demon' by Ramses Overdark. She attacked Kusho and Argenti while wearing Tetsuo's banner to farmed the champion. Later, during the Kentsu's campaign against the islands, Overdark used her to defeat the defenders of Lady Caleria's castle and after that to attack the Kentsu. She was then killed by Tetsuo.

Jorgan Hage
An Ærathi Berserker, and second in command of the army of Madara. He got possessed by Ramses Overdark and killed his superior Marhault Elsdragon, and was appointed new general of the Kentsu. He was killed by Tetsuo Umezawa while trying to keep the champion away from the imperial shrine.

Halfdane
An ancient shapeshifter that originated in Tolaria (Which was abundant with ‘shifters, doppelgangers and clone’s before Urza founded his Academy there).
Halfdane was present at a lot of turning points in Dominiara’s history. He worked for Gix for example. His last job was to infiltrate Elsdragons forces disguised as Barktooth Warbeard, and place black mana crystal on Kusho to poison the island's mana. He was killed by Tor Wauki and Ayesha Tanaka.

Marhault Elsdragon
Half-Elven General of the Madaran Army. Elsdragon let the attack on Kusho and Argenti after Ramses Overdark failed to conquer those islands. He was succesfull, but immediatly afterward he was killed by his second in command, Jorgan Hage, who was possessed by Overdark.
PRE-REV
A legendary elven warrior whose travels were well-known in ancient times, Elsdragon was changed forever when his ship was burned. Although restrained and civil in normal times, he is a ferocious fighter that embodies chaos in times of war.

Gosta Dirk
A powerful warrior and water-mage from Kusho. Kusho is populated by many small tribes and has no actual ruler, but in times of trouble Gosta becomes the person whom most tribes turn to to be their general, mostly because of his powerful blue magic and because Kasimir the Lone Wolf is in his service.
PRE-REV
He once killed a bunch of pirates that where going to harm his family.

Lady Ohadi Caleria
The queen of Argenti. She rallied the Edemi islands to rebel against Madara. She was last seen rallying the islands again for an actual attack on the empire, wanting to demand money for the restoration of the islands.
Lady Caleria was mentioned as a goddess of the hunt in the first legends cycle. Presumably this Lady Caleria was named after the goddess.

Kasimir the Lone Wolf
His real name is Shasido Mayasi, and he was the Kentsu general before Marhault Elsdragon. When the job of impirial champion became vacant, he battled Tetsuo for it and lost. He became a hermit in Kusho, working for Gosta Dirk when neccecary.

Ragnar
Gosta Dirk's healer. He was killed by Halfdane.

Barktooth Warbeard.
A high-raking officer in the Madaran army. He was killed and replaced by Halfdane.

Lord Magnus
The highest druid on the Argenti Woods, and the Maro-Sorcerer of the them as wel. It's nut know wether he was an actualy nature spirit, or a normal human bonded to the the forest. Magnus resides in the Sylvan Library.
PRE-REV
Pre-Rev Lord Magnus was the Maro-Sorcerer of Llanowar. (His full name was Lord Magnus of Llanowar). This place is now being fulfilled by Molimo.

Waisitora
The Nekoru (Cat-Dragon) Queen during the second legends cycle. She used to be fierce and attack the villagers of Sekana, but she made a deal with Tetsuo, and is now the guardian of the area she lives in.

Bejahn
An elder from Sekana village. She advised the city council to call in Tetsuo when Waisitora had attacked the village, and defended his decision to make the Nekoru-dragon his deputy.

Hatoki
Tetsuo's standard bearer. His family where all servants in Tetsuo's mansion. Hatoki had some martial art's training, as you tend to have when you're a servant of the most powerful warrior in the empire.

Haki Umezawa
Tetsuo's father. He lost an eye in a duel. His second, Tetsuo had to stand in for him. That was the first time Tetsuo had killed someone.

Chanto Umezawa
Tetsuo's grandfather. A lowly farmer who was drafted into the Kentsu for an attack on the Edemi islands. He used his gains of the war to become a wealthy smith.

Mudai
A Hyperion smith working for Lady Caleria. Like all of the hyperion he was completely covered in metal.

Gunamo
An AErathi commander in the Kentsu. His troops accompanied Ayesha Tanaka on her attack on the Sylvan Library. They succeeded, but after Ayesha had been overwhelmed by the forest Gunamo was thorn in half by killer vines.

Chada
A sergeant in the Kentsu. He was the only survivor of the soldiers that attacked the Sylvan Library. When Ayesha gave the Kentsu the disision to run or to fight, Chada was one of the few who chose smartly.

Peribet
One of Wasitora's kittens. She's white with patches of black, brown and orange, and has blue eye's. Of the five kittens, she is most like her mother.

Sindoya
One of Wasitora's kittens. He is white and black. His name means "Warning Growl", for he likes to frighten people with his voice. He is bigger than Peribet, but not as strong or fast. Kolo Meha calls him Buzzy, which he doesn't like very much.

Hayokai
Another kitten of Wasitora. His name means "Swiftly Striking", from which Meha derive dhis nickname, Swifty. He is midnight black, and the brute of the five.

Kubiho
This Nekoru looks much like his brother Sindoya, but has a very big neck, and thus has the most emberasing nickname: Big Neck.

Tsukikage
His name means "Moonshadow", and Meha found this such a nice name, that he didn't think of a nickname. Tsukikage is the smallest kitten. He is white with grey patches and the most delicate of the bunch.

Maigoyume
The sixt nekoru kitten, but he died as a baby. His name means "Lost Dreamer" and he was completely black, looking the most like his father of all the kittens.

Commander Hrothga
An AErathi berserker that was promoted after Jorgan Hage became general of the Kentsu. He lead the attack on Tetsuo's manor, but his battalion was thorn to pieces by Wasitora.

Commander Orai Daiyeta
A commander of the Kentsu, ordered to raze Sekana to the ground to lure Tetsuo out of hiding. His battalion was destroyed by Wasitora's kittens. Daiyeta himself survived, but was then killed by Xira Arien for bleeding on her dress.

Zalgadib
An efreet from Suq'Ata. He defended Overdark's manor, and in exchange he got to eat Ramses, if he was still alive after the end of the efreet's survice. It never came to that, because his service would end 256 years after the year in which Overdark died. Zalgadib himself was killed by Kolo Meha.

Other Legends Characters
Riven Turnbull
A political fire starter willing to resort to any means to achieve his dark goals.

Chromium
Not much is known about this Elder Dragon. He could be dead by now, he could have ascended. He could have ascended and then died… He could even be the same person as Chronium Rhuell (see under Pre-Rev Comics for more info)

Arcades Sabboth, Veavictis Asmadi, Palladia-Mors
We don’t know much more about these guys than we know about Chronium, but at least we know for certain that they’re not the same person as Rhuell.
Sabboth, Mors, Chromium and Nicol Bolas are siblings, Asmadi is their cousin.

Lady of the Mountain
A creature of myth. She was created by Fiers (who the dwarves consider a god) and Gaea. She in turn created the dwarves.

Agnus McKenzie of Karakas
Angus represents Karakas well: like the wondrous city, he has the power to dispel discord. War and civil unrest are total strangers to Karakas.

Bartel Runeaxe of Hammerheim
A mighty warrior from the mountain stronghold of Hammerheim, Bartel Runeaxe is so named for his trademark weapon-a vicious axe which is only one aspect of his great strength and endurance.

Gabriel Angelfire
An ancient, winged warrior, Angelfire is the god sacred to the Benalian nation. Worshiped across the empire, he is remembered as embodying divine wrath and retribution. His worship has superseded that of Serra; although both are known as angelic figures, the worship of Serra is banned in Benalia for political reasons, allowing Gabriel’s cult to grow in importance.
Whether he really existed is unknown.

Gwendlyn di Corci of Urborg
Known as the Great Seductress, Gwendolyn was once the ruler of Urborg. Capable of charming anyone with either (or both) her looks and her spells, Gwendlyn ensured that no man could resist her wiles.

Jacques le Vert of Pendelhaven
Born in the autumn realm of Pendelhaven, Jaques Le Vert became a warrior but chose to return home to defend his utopian homeland. He is remembered for having fought the Brute, a creature of immense strength and rage, while protecting Pendelhaven. His name means Jack the Green in French.

Jerrard of the Closed Fist
Jerrard is the last of the Order of the Closed Fist. These legendary knights were powerful in The Domains, where their realm stretched across the Kb’Briann Highlands south of Benalia. With the onset of Sheoltun and various other kingdoms, the Closed Fist survives only in the powerful Jerrard.

Lady Evangela
A radiant, magical being who possessed the power of serenity, she is most often associated with the true moon of Dominaria. Ancient mosaics depict her riding rainbows to the Mistmoon and holding a Glaive, a powerful pole arm weapon.

Livonya Silone
Mysterious but deadly in combat, Livonya Silone is shrouded in mystery. Legends place her as having forged alliances with dark powers, but many are those who tell of her incredible stealth and strength.

Nebuchadnezzar of The Domains
For centuries Nebuchadnezzar wandered throughout The Domains, dispensing his form of strict justice. In his lifetime, he was a seeker of truth and a speaker of wisdom. Nebuchadnezzar is also the name of a Babylonian king here on Earth.

Rubinia Soulsinger
A radiant speaker of truth and wisdom, Rubina was a champion of integrity and purity. She could sway others to join her cause, and indeed even the coldest warrior would readily ally with her after hearing her voice.

Tobias Andrion of Sheoltun
A military commander of the ancient Sheoltun Empire of Aerona, Tobias Andrion was a major force in establishing the empire across the continent through conquest and intimidation. Despite the fact that Sheoltun was well entrenched in mainland Aerona during, the empire had failed to conquer the pirates of the neighbouring western archipelago called the Spice Isles.
During the last thirty years of Tobias Andrion’s life, the pirates were pushed back as he led Sheoltun’s forces in crushing their power. The pirates of the ship Wavespawn were successful in killing the military administrator, however, in an ambush. Magical lightning is rumored to have played a role in his death and legends say that Tobias Andrion was reanimated as one of the undead-to dance upon the corpses and wreckage of his ship. The bay around Benalia is named in his honor-Andrion Bay.

Torsten Von Ursus of Wrenna
When an evil sorcerer seized the throne of far away Wrenna, Torsten von Ursus, a member of the black-clothed Knights of Jenges, fled to The Domains. Living amongst the minotaurs of the Hurloon Mountains, Torsten believed that the minotaur culture was an advanced, not primitive, one-a belief, although correct, that was extraordinary at the time.
After immersing himself in the Hurloon realm, Torsten wandered south to the plains of Aerona. There he found the dying city of Benfosa, beset by various afflictions that he then sought out to cure. Rallying the Benfosans together, Torsten created the new empire of Benalia (a name that means “aspiration”) and ruled it with the iron hand of justice and duty. His death at age seventy-two led to internal squabbling in Benalia, but fortunately his commands were followed and the city became ruled under a septite, or seven-part, council representing the Seven High Clans of Benalia descended from Torsten’s seven lieutenants.
EDITORS NOTE
This is all pre-rev, although most of it is still true. The only big change is that Wrenna is no longer far away, but on the other side of the street from both Hurloon and Benalia.

Legends without a storyline
These sad folks are the ancestors or characters like Reya Dawnbringer and Cromat: No matter how cool they are, no one has ever bothered to write their stories down.
Adun Oakshield (Dwarven Necromancer?)
Axelrod Gunnerson (Vampire Gaint?)
Pavel Malaki (Misguided cleric? Someone trying to make up for something?)
Princess Lucrezia (Riven Turnbulls love interest?)
Rasputin Dreamweaver (Based on Russian Mad-Monk Rasputin)
Rohgahh of Kher Keep (Lives on Terisiare, that’s all we know.)
Sir Shandlar of Eberyn (Not associated with Shandalar in any way)
Sunastian Falconer (No link to Soraya the Falconer. No link to any falcons either…)
Tuknir Deathlock (Triceratop-hat! Get it? Top-hat? Hehehe…)

Fallen Empires Characters

Tevesh Szat
Also known as the doom of fools, this planeswalker lived in Argoth before the brothers’ war. Then called Tev Loneglade, he moved to Sarpadia with his sister that he kept magically young.
When his sister was killed in the internal struggles of the Fallen Empires, he went completely insane and delivered the killing blows to the empires. He renamed himself Tevesh Szat. Szat would continue destroying civilisation, for he now thought it only lead to decadence and corruption. It was Szat that manipulated the battle between Freyalise and Jason Carthalion in such a way that the city of Strogard was irreparably damaged.
Szat attended on the Summit of the Null Moon, where he fought Freyalise. After that he tried to intensify the Ice Age, but was defeated by Jahuel Carthalion and fled to Shandalar, where he was defeated again, this time by Kenan Sharmal.
Szat stopped his rampage for a while and retreated to a plane of perpetual darkness. Here he was visited by Urza who wanted him to be part of the 9 titans. Szat betrayed the titans, got Darigaaz too free the Primeval Dragons and killed Daria and Kristina. Urza then killed Szat and used his energy to fuel the Soul Bombs that destroyed Phyrexia.

Timolyn Loneglade
Tev’s sister, she was kept young by his spells so she could live with her dwarven husband Kaylen. When the dwarven empire fell under the pressure of the goblin and orc invasions, Kaylen was killed and Timolyn became fatalistic. She wanted Tev to unsummon the spells that kept her alive. Tev refused and got her to go with him to Montford and Icatia, to warn the people there about the coming horde.
Timolyn was captured by the Order of the Ebon Hand however, who wanted to use her to bride her former lover Olivier Farrel. Farrel didn’t want to be reunited with her however, he wanted her dead. When the Order gave Farrel a moment alone with Timolyn, he stabbed her, fulfilling her death-wish.

Olivier Farrel
The charismatic leader of the extremist Farrelite group. Farrel himself was mostly after personal gain and revenge on Timolyn Loneglade, but after he was killed by Tevesh Szat, his follwers became a formidable force that defended Icatia against the goblins for a long time.

Sianna of Montfort
Farrels most elite warrior, even though she had doubts about Farrel himself. She was defeated, but not killed, by Tev Loneglade, and presumably gave up being a Farrelite afterwards.

Priestess Vaylesh
A priestess of the Ebon Hand. She lead the squadron of Ebn Hand followers that captured Timolyn. After her prisoner was killed by Farrel, a fight erupted among the Farrelites and the Ebon Hand, which was almost ended in favor of the Hand when Vaylesh summoned a Derelor. Tevesh Szat showed up however, and torched the Derelor. And all the Hand followers. And all the Farralites. And half the forest they where fighting in.

Tourach
The founder, and first high priest, of the Order of the Ebon Hand. Tourach worshiped a being known as the Ebon Praetor instead of the Hand of Justice, which most people worshiped at the time. There are lots of similarities between the Ebon Hand and the Brotherhood of Gix, such as cutting of limbs as an honorable thing, which suggests the Tourach might have been a survivor of the Brothers War that fled to Sarpadia.
Tourach established an new country. It's capital was Achtep Keep, also known as the Citadel of the Ebon Hand.
Later high priests, such as the one during the wars: Thurzen Klathe, started to worship Tourach as a god.

Endrek Sahr
Sahr mixed Tourachs early research with alchemy, allowing him to create the Thrulls. The Thrulls where a race bred for sacrifice, but later also for other tasks, such as battle and aiding spell casters. The Thrulls eventually rebelled, and Sahr was killed for his “crimes”.

Jherana Rure
Alongside the mercenary captain Ivra Jursdotter, Jherana started the counter-insurgency that was supposed to stop the Thrull Rebellion. It didn’t work however, and Rure was killed by Necrite’s.

Scout Loren
An elvish scout, and son of the creator of the Thallid. Loren wanted to make peace with the Thallid, but he was killed by Morgan, who desired victory over peace.

Druid Morgan
A war mongering druid with a high ranking in the elvish kingdom of Havenwood.

Empress Galina
After her husband died, she became the empress of Vodalia. When the Homarid attacked the city she lived in she and several warriors and mages tried to teleport to a more remove city. Something went wrong however and she ended up more than 4000 years into the future. There she reclaimed her throne by killing the current rulers of New Vodalia and became empress again.

The Dark Characters

Jodah
Jodah is a descendant of the Brothers. Because of his magical capabilities, he was apprenticed to Voska. However, they where caught by the anti-magical inquisition of Tal, and Voska was killed. Jodah escaped with little more than the magical mirror Voska had given him.
Jodah searched for the magic school, The City of Shadows, Voska had told him about, but eventually ended up in another school, the Conclave of Mages. During his search, Jodah nearly drowned in the Fountain of Youth, which slowed his aging down to a crawl.
The School of the Unseen was run by Mairsil, who had usurped it from Lord Ith. With Jodah’s help Ith was freed and Mairsil defeated.
Jodah journeyed to the City of Shadows, where he became Archmage, and eventually, because of his old age, Archmage-Eternal.
At the end of the Ice Age, Jodah was captured by Lim-Dûl, who was influenced by Mairsils spirit. The necromancer wanted Jodah to devise a way to kill a planeswalker, specifically Leshrac, the one who enthralled Lim-Dûl. With the help of his old “friends” Jaya Ballard and Freyalise Planeswalker, Jodah escaped and rallied Kjeldor and Balduvia against Lim-Dûl.
Jodah’s mirror, which he had been using to keep sane over the millennia, was used by Freyalise in the Worldspell that ended the Ice Age.
Twenty years after that, Mairsil/Lim-Dûl returned again, and Jodah and Jaya went after him. As it turned out, it was actually Jaya who was possessed by him. Jodah was wounded and his blood, as descendant of the Brothers, was used to activate several Phyrexian War-Machine’s. Jaya/Dûl/Mairsil left to destroy the School of the Unseen, the renamed City of Shadows, with them, and left Jodah for dead. However, the Archmage-Eternal isn’t defeated that easily.
Freyalise had imbedded Jodah’s mirror with energy that would light his spark, but Jodah realized he had no spark. He traveled after Jaya and smashed the mirror into her, activating her spark, the one Freyalise had sensed and mistaken for Jodah’s. This purged Lim-Dûl/Mairsil from her. Jaya then destroyed the War-Machine’s and blessed Jodah so that he no longer needed his mirror to retain his sanity.
Jodah has had influence in many turning points in Dominiara’s history. It was Jodah who first proposed a alliance between Balduvia and Kjeldor, which would eventually lead to the merging of the two countries into New Argive. It was Jodah who helped Urza set the first steps to sanity, enabling him to start his preparations against Phyrexia. Who knows how many other great decisions have been made by rulers with Jodah as advisor.
Jodah was still alive during the Phyrexian Invasion.

Voska
Jodah’s first tutor. He presented him with the mirror, which he himself had received from his master before him.

Sima
Jodah’s first wife. She helped him free Ith and showed him the City of Shadows.

Mairsil the Pretender
A very powerful mage that made himself even more powerful by imprisoning his master, Lord Ith, above a Phyrexian Pit.When Jodah freed Ith however, he was killed.
His spirit remained inside his ruby ring however, and would later influence the other wearers of the ring, Lim-Dûl and Jaya Ballard.

Barl, Artificer
Barl was Mairsils right hand. He devised the cage that held Ith. He was killed by Sima and probably turned into Ith’s new Rag Man.

Lord Ith
An extremely powerfull mage for his time, perhaps even a planeswalker. Ith founded his magical society, the Conclave of Mages, away from the world, where once had stood the Monastery of Gix. He was betrayed by his apprentice Mairsil, who locked him in a cage and drained his powers. With the last of his abilities, Ith summoned the Rag Man, who lead Jodah to the Conclave. Jodah freed Ith, and helped him regain his sanity.
After his release, Ith abandoned the Conclave, and ventured into the world, helping Tidavar of Thorn in his crusade against the goblins.

Shannah
A mage at the Conclave and a friend of Jodah. When the Conclave was abandoned, he joined Jodah and enrolled on the City of Shadows.

Primata Delphina
A zealot of the anti-magic inquisition. She used magic herself, but thought that was a gift of the divine. She rallied the people of several villages against the Conclave of Mages and attacked it, which gave Jodah the chance he needed to free Ith.
She was killed by Mairsil the Pretender.

Tivadar of Thorn
A very young, but very charismatic soldier who lead the crusade against the goblins. He was aided by Lord Ith in his quest.

Sister Betje
A Mircale Worker of the Church of Tal.

Shannan
An artificer from the Conclave of Mages and a friend of Jodah. He later moved to the City of Shadows after the destruction of the Conclave.

Nevinyrral
An ancient lord of Urborg. During his reign, prior to the Ice Age, Urborg was at war with Bogardan. As a last ditch effort he activated his Disk, which prevented the Bogardians from claiming Urborg, but also caused the destruction of Urborg City when a volcano rose and devoured it.
You're probably wondering why Nevin is placed among the "the Dark" characters. Well, his reign was prior to the Ice Age, but everything indicated that Urborg was alreay a swamp (A necromancer ruled it, for example). This would place it after Urborg was submerged when Urza activated the Sylex blast. And the period between the Sylex and the Ice Age was of course, The Dark.

Ice Age Characters

Post-Rev, End of the Ice Age Characters

Jaya Ballard
Phyrexia.com on everyone’s favorite task mage.

Lim-Dûl
Phyrexia.com on Lim-Dûl.

Royal Mage Gustha Ebbesdotter
Gustha was in on the conspiracy that allowed Lim-Dûl to capture Jodah, but she felt remorse. She made amendments and eventually died a heroes death during the last battle against the necromancer.

Gerda Äagesdotter, Magus of the Unseen
Archmage of the School of the Unseen around the casting of the Worldspell. Gera was always overshadowed by Jodah Archmage-Eternal, and set up a conspiracy that allowed Jodah to fall into the hands of Lim-Dûl, making Gerda the most powerfull mage in the School of the Unseen. Jodah eventually returned and sort-off forgave her. Gerda died when Lim-Dûl/Jaya’s War-machines attacked the school.

General Varchild
She was one of the heroes of the last battle against Lim-Dûl, and one of the high ranking knight that didn’t join Avram Garrisons “Knights of Stromgald”. After the battle however, she fell out of grace and continued to attack the Balduvians, even after the merging of Balduvia and Kjeldor into New Archive.

Avram Garrison
A knight of Kjeldor that hated the Balduvians so much that he was willing to ally himself with Lim-Dûl and overthrow King Darien. He and several other betrayers named themselves after Marton Stromgald, who they considered a real Kjeldoran hero.
Their plans where thwarted by Jodah and Jaya however, and after they fled to Lim-Dûl, they where killed and added to the necromancers zombie army.

King Darien
The king of Kjeldor at the end of the Ice Age. He was saved from assassination by Jodah and Jaya and allied himself with Balduvia against Lim-Dûl. Later he gave up the throne when Bladuvia and Kjeldor merged into new Argive, making his daughter Alexandrite the new queen.

Lovisa Coldeye’s
Chieftan of Balduvia. Lovisa allied herself with Kjeldor against Lim-Dûl. She also abandoned the throne when Kjeldor and Balduvia merged. Her son Lothar became the new king.

Chaeska, the Keeper of Tresserhorn
The strongest of Lim-Dûl undead minions, Jaya teleported him back to Tresserhorn during the great battle. He then constructed a undead replacement for Lim-Dûl to keep the undead from rebelling. He presumably withered away after Lim-Dûl had been gone for to long.

Marton Stromgald
A Kjeldoran hero. He lead Lim-Dûls squadron, and presumably got them killed. Lim-Dûl hated him for that, and later zombified his late commander.

General Jarkeld
An ancient Kjeldoran hero from the time Kjeldor was a new nation. Jodah created an illusion of him during the last battle against Lim-Dûl to boost the moral of the Kjeldorans.

Mad Zur, the Enchanter
An insane mage who lead a number of other mages looking for greatness. He disappeared eventually, with most people claiming he died, but his followers claiming he achieved immortality and is now a hermit.

Marit Lage
A powerfull planeswalker during the ice age, that was locked in an icy prison under the sea.

Hans Eriksdotter
A young soldier. He had only one appearance in the books, in the short Lhurgoyf story in Monsters of Magic, but the general consensus is that he ascended and traveled to Rath, where he had the chance to appear on Revenants flavor text. Fanofficially it has been established that Hans is also the tiny guy on Phyrexian Dreadnaught, Bringer of the White Dawn, Temple of the False God, Cosmic Larva, An-Zerrin Ruins, Walking Wall and every other card that has a tiny person in the art of which we can’t see who it is.
There is also something odd about his name. He is male, but his last name indicates that he is someones “dotter” (=daughter). Also, “…dotter” names should have the mothers name in the place of the dots, which would mean Hans’s mom was names Erik…

Summit of the Null Moon Characters
Faralyn
A planeswalker captured inside the Shard when it sealed. Eventually Faralyn wished to exit the Shard, and called several planeswalkers to the Summit of the Null Moon. Faralyn told them he wanted to use the energy of the plane Shandalar to restore the Multiverse, but in truth he, Leshrac and Tevesh Szat betrayed the others, and attacked them. They hoped that one planeswalker would die, and that they could use that energy to escape the Shard. The plan went a bit different and Faralyns spell squire Ravidel, and his friend Chronium Rhuell where killed instead of a ‘walker. Faralyn used Rhuells energy to escape to Shandalar.
He wanted to conquer that new plane, but was tracked down and killed by the Faery Dragon, a minion of the Guardian of Shandalar.

Ravidel
After his death on the Null Moon, Ravidel was resurrected by Kristina and Taysir. He was furious however, that they brought him back instead of Rhuell. Ravidel ascended and vowed revenge on everyone that had hurt him or Rhuell.
Shortly afterwards, the Shard was repaired, and Kristina and Taysir parted ways. Ravidel got himself apprenticed by Taysir, manipulating the heartbroken and homesick planeswalker. He tried to get Taysir to kill the ‘walkers that had hurt him and use their energy to puncture the mini-shard around Rabiah. Taysir tracked down Leshrac, but found that he couldn’t kill him. Later, Ravidel led Taysir to Ulgrotha, where he showed him Kristina and her new love Sandruu. Taysir was furious, but again couldn’t kill. He banished Sandruu to a distant plane, for which Sandruu’s friend Feroz killed him.
Again without a master, Ravidel started to plot his grand revenge. First, he needed to get everyone who could endanger his plans out of the way.
First he threatened the Sages of Minorad with the resurfaced Golgothian Sylex. The sages surrendered, which made Ash Warlord Emberek quit the group. This allowed Ravidel to make them virtually powerless (see their entries by Shadow Mage Characters).
Next he tried to kill everyone with enough potential to endanger his plans. Prime target: The mighty Carthalion Lineage. This didn’t go entirely as he planned it, and left him with a powerful new enemy: Jared Carthalion. (See the Adam and Jared Carthalion entires by Shadow Mage Character for more info on this.)
Ravidel realized that he had to continue with his plans nonetheless and killed Liana of Minorad to take her Moxen. He forged them together as the Mox Beacon, which he used to summon all those that he wanted revenge on to Corondor and imprison them on the continent. He probably perished during the following Planeswalkers War, although the details are unknown.

Kristina
Kristina of the Woods is a Corondorian Planeswalker that was locked inside the Shard. She met Taysir there, and fell in love with him, although after the Shard was repaired, she wanted more freedom and left him. She met Sandruu, and fell in love with him, which enraged Taysir and made him banish Sandruu to a plane from which it would take a millennium to return.
Kristina fled, but disaster was on her trail. She, alongside the other Sages of Minorad, was approached and threatened by Ravidel. When Ash Warlord Embrerek left the council, the Sages where weakened so badly that Ravidel could take them apart and render them virtually powerless (for a planeswalker). Kristina was bound to her woods on Corondor, which where quite big, but would render any ‘walker claustrophobic.
She later helped and fell in love with Jared Carthalion, who became her apprentice. Together they destroyed the Golgothian Sylex, so Ravidel could no longer threaten the Sage’s with it, although they couldn’t prevent the Planeswalkers War from happening. What happened to them during the war is unknown.
During the Invasion Kristina, without Jared, was one of Urza’s 9 Titans. She was killed however, by the traitor Tevesh Szat.

Leshrac
A planeswalker that ascended during the Ice Age. He had Lim-Dûl construct a great army to conquer Shandalar with, but thanks to Jodah uniting Balduvia and Kjeldor, most of that army was decimated.
He took Lim-Dûl and the remains of the army to Shandalar anyway however, using the energy of Ravidel’s death. On Shandalar, he was thwarted by Kenan Sharmal quite easily because of his small army, and Leshrac was forced to flee, only to be found by Taysir, who imprisoned him in Phyrexia.
Leshrac was freed by the Mox Beacon and fought in the Planeswalkers War, but what happened to him there in unknown. There are no later appearances of him.

Freyalise
Once a half-elven fire mage from Strogard, She was manipulated by Tevesh Szat into fighting her childhood friend Jason Carthalion. With Szats help, Jason killed her. Jason felt enormous guild over this, since he didn’t know Freyalise had ascended.
After her ascension, she nearly went insane, but was helped overcome this by Jodah, the Archmage Eternal. After this, she helped elves in Fyndhorn and Llanowar survive the ice age.
She studied the Shard in search of a way to free the worlds within, and hoped to find the answers during Faralyns Summit of the Null Moon. She was tricked however, since Faralyn wanted to use the energy of a planeswalker to escape the Shard. She fought Szat on Azoria and was left for dead.
After this, she and Kristina of the Woods used Kaysa, Jodahs mirror and the Icy Cauldron to cast the world spell to end the ice age. She also armed and instructed Jahuel Carthalion on his quest to expel Szat from Dominiara.
After she completed the world spell, she installed the enchantment on Jodah’s Mirror that would cause Jaya Ballards ascension twenty years later.
Freyalise left Dominara, but returned to defend it against the Phyrexian invasion as one of the 9 titans. With Lord Windgrace, she was the only survivor of that group. After the invasion she erected the Martyrs Tomb.

Fall of Strogard Characters
King Miko
Miko was the king of Strogard, the last empire that was founded in the Dark period to succumb to the Ice Age.
Normaly, disputes would be settled in the council, but thanks to Tevesh Szat corrupting Miko, the future of Strogard hinged on the outcome of a battle between Freyalise and Jason Carthalion. Thanks to Szat amplifying the battle, most of Strogard was destroyed during it.

Oriel Kjeldos of Clan Emerald
Strogards High-Council had 5 seats: one for each color of magic. Oriel held the green seat, and along with Hurn of the white seat thought that the people of Strogard should leave the doomed kingdom and start somewhere else. A corrupted king Miko decided that the green and white followers where allowed to leave if their champion, Jason Carthalion, defeated Freyalise, Which he did.
Oriel perished on the tundra, but her descendants made it to the other side and founded Kjeldor.

Jason Carthalion
The champion of Clan Emerald who was forced to fight his childhood friend Freyalise. Jason made it across the tundra, and House Carthalion, which was founded over 3000 years ago, became a family of knights in the name of Kjeld.

Zilegeth of Clan Ruby
He held the red seat in the council of Strogard. He was killed by a Johtull Wurm, and Freyalise took his place.

Hurn of Clan Pearl
Had the white council seat of Strogard. Its unknown if he made it across the Turndra. He was married to a woman named Mariska.

Lothrun of Clan Saphire
A dwarf. Held the blue seat of Strogard.

Arimaya Kjeldos of Clan Onyx
She held the black seat of Strogards council. She is the sister of Oriel, but she is much younger. Or perhaps she used spells to remain young. Thas probably the case since she looked about 30ish, when Oriel was already an old woman.

Pre-Rev End of the ice Age Characters
These characters appeared in the pre-revisioned comics. Most of what they did (defeating Lim-Dûl for example) has been ret-conned by wizards and should now be considered Jodah’s doing. What became of these characters is unknown, although some of them reappear in Alliances, where they do things that haven’t been ret-conned away.

Kaysa
She was born with the symbol of the Elder Druid. While she was still a little girl, Freyalise used her as part of the Worldspell.
Later, she married Jahuel Carthalion and the two of them lead the Fyndhorn elves from their sinking lands to Yavimaya, where they made peace with Multani and the sentient gorillas.
Kaysa could be a descendant of The Son of Carth, since both of them, as well as Jared Carthalion had a crescent-moon symbol on their face. There is probably no link to Mochi.

Jahuel Carthalion
Jahuel is a descendant of Jason Carthalion, but fell out of grace. He was even banished from Kjeld Capitol after stealing the eye-patch of Lord Kailo.
When Tevesh Szat tried to prolong the Ice Age, Freyalise wanted to mess with his feelings and send Jahuel after him. I know it sounds unlikely, but the expelled knight managed to defeat Szat with the Amulet of Quaz.
Jahuel was knighted (again), made Jupiner Order Advocate and married Kaysa (when she was old enough). The two later moved to Yavimaya.

Kolbjorn
Kaysa’s father and Elder Druid of the Jupiner Order. It was Kolbjorn that gave Jaya Ballard the amulet to summon Freyalise.

Disa the Restless
Kaysa’s mother. She was an expert explorer and most of the writings about Terisiare during the Ice Age where written by Disa. She died of the plagues that ravaged Terisiare during the Age of Floods.

Lord Balo Kailo
A Kjeldoran knight that has lost an eye and a hand in battle. He was once married to Zaraya, until their son died on a military mission over which Zaraya had command.
RET-CONNED
Kailo and Zaray went on one last mission, years later, in which they made peace with the Balduvians, curing the plague Lim-Dûl had infected the barbarians with. The then ran into Dûl and nearly killed him. Leshrac imprisoned him in an icy prison for his failure.

Lord Zaraya
During the mission mentioned above, Zaraya received a Nova Pentacle, which Freyalise later took from her and gave to Jahuel Carthalion to protect him on his mission to slay Szat.
Zaraya and Kailo where present when the Worldspell was cast.

Shaman Bolar
A Kjeldoran Shaman. Kjeldorans aren’t shamanistic, Balduvians are…
Plotholes aside, Bolar was a cool character. He accompanied Zaraya and Kailo on their last mission and was the one who cured the Balduvians.
Bolar had two tiny arms sticking out of his chest which he used to flick trough tiny spell books that he kept in a belt around his chest.

Severin
The son of Kailo and Zaraya. His squadron had to pass an ice bridge. Since he was the lightest, Zaraya had him go last, and when he stepped on the bridge, it cracked and Severin fell to his death.

Xian Onala
A member of Kjelds royal family. Her friend Gregor died while they accompanied Kailo and Zaraya, because Xian couldn’t break out of Lim-Dûls hypnotizing spell. After that, Xian decided knighthood wasn’t for her, and she spent the rest of her life in the royal court.

Samiks of Balduvia
Samiks was a Balduvian dying of the plague, but still he went to deliver a message to Kailo and Zaraya about Lim-Dûl poisoning the waters. When he couldn’t walk any further, he waited for them to arrive while hanging on a tree in full armor. It was Samiks who gave Zaraya the Nova Pentacle.

Priest of Yawgmoth
This guy lived on Dominiara and was contacted by Tevesh Szat to convert all the artifacts under the ruins of Strogard into pure black mana that Szat could use to elongate the Ice Age.
How he ended up in Dominiara is a mystery, for he seemed complete, truly Phyrexian, but Phyrexians couldn’t reach Dominiara during the Ice Age, because of the Shard.

Storyless Legends
The saga continues. Skeleton Ship and Rubina Soulsingers possessive little sister Merieke Ri Berit both lacking in the storyline department.

Alliances Characters

Arcum Dagson, Soldevi Machinist
A brilliant artificer who wanted to create a mechanical utopia in the city of Soldev. He was convinced that a world of machines would be paradise, until Soldev was destroyed by Lim-Dûls rampaging War-Machines.

Sorine Relicsbane, Soldevi Heretic
Born Sorine Daabson, this man once believed in Dagsons mechanical utopia. But after he discovered more about artifacts, he became what the Soldevi call a heretic: someone who things machine’s shouldn’t be used, or at least not one such a large scale.

Lord of Tresserhorn
An undead imitation of Lim-Dûl created by Chaeska to keep the undead from rebelling. It got trashed by Jodah.

Pheldagriff
Another storyless legend. But be honest: does a big purple hippo with wings need explanation?

Ulgrotha characters

Feroz
A planeswalker that thought using summoned beings was immoral. He journeyed to Ulgrotha, where he befriended the minotaur Sandruu, which he helped ascend, and Serra, whom he eventually married. Feroz and Serra helped the Ulgrothan people defend themselves against Baron Sengir, and after Sandruu’s battle with Taysir, they created Ferozs’ Ban, to hold other planeswalkers out of Ulgrotha. Feroz died in a lab accident while studying a fire elemental.

Serra
Revered as a goddess, Serra was actually a planeswalker of white mana, that had created her own plane, Serra’s Realm, long before the brothers’ war.
Serra saved Urza after his failed crusade against Phyrexia. By doing this, she doomed her own plane, for the Phyrexians came after Urza and attacked her Realm.
Serra fled from the tainted place to the plane Ulgrotha, where she met Feroz and fell in love with him. Feroz and Serra helped the Ulgrothan people defend themselves against Baron Sengir, and after Sandruu’s battle with Taysir, they created Ferozs’ Ban, to hold other planeswalkers out of Ulgrotha. After Ferozs dead, Serra left Ulgrotha and was eventually killed by a black planeswalker.
A small part of Serra lived on in her plane, which lay locked in the crystal that powered the Weatherlight. When the Weatherlight was destroyed, the Realm and Serra came into being again and was visited by Karona hundred years later.

Sandruu
A minotaur that came to investigate when Feroz tried his skills on a Didgeridoo. Snadruu befriended Feroz, who eventually helped him ascend. Sandruu met Kristina on his travels and fell in love with her, for which Taysir banished him to a plane somewhere on the edge of the multiverse, from which it would take millennia to get back.
80 years later however, Ravidel activated the Mox Beacon which brought Sandruu to Dominiara, and during the following Planeswalkers War he met both Kristina and Taysir again. What happened is unknown, but there are no further Sandruu appearances.

Baron Sengir
Once upon a time, a young boy became a vampire. He was enthralled by a planeswalker and traveled all over the multiverse with him. Until one day the planeswalker died, and the vampire was stuck in his home-plane again. That is what happened to Sengir.
When he came back to Ulgrotha, he found a dwarven keep. He slaughtered all dwarfs and renamed the keep Castle Sengir, and named himself Baron. He sought to conquer the entire pane, but Feroz and Serra stood in his way.
After their deaths, Autumn Willow became his new nemesis, but her power slowly dwindles, and Sengir is eternal. For now he is satisfied with keeping the world in fear, and when Autumn is gone, he’ll make the worlds fear reality.

Ravi a.k.a. Grandmother Sengir
Possibly a planeswalker, possibly a spellsquire with the spark that was never flared.
Ravi’s master was one of the Tolgath, a group of powerfull planeswalkers on Ulgrotha that waged war against the Ancients. Ravi ended the war by ringing the apocalypse chime, which destroyed the creatures that where summoned, the ancients, the Tolgath, Ulgrotha’s Ley-lines and most of Ulgrotha. She locked herself in a basalt spire to protect her against the apocalypse, but couldn’t escape the spire from the inside.
She was freed by an old friend, Baron Sengir, now a vampire. The Baron allowed her into his family as a grandmother.

Autumn Willow
Feroz’s Ban did not only keep ‘walkers out of Ulgrotha, it also kept mana in. the green mana manifested itself as a great forest, and as all great forests, it had a Maro-Sorcerer: Autumn. Autumn first only cared about the forest, but after Feroz and Serra died, she took their place as the counterweight against evils such as Baron Sengir and Eron the Relentless.
But as the years passed, Feroz’s Ban weakened, and green mana began to flow away again. Autumn now waits for a hero to slay Sengir, so she can use the portal under castle Sengir to restore the Ley-Lines. If there will come no hero, Autumn might have to cast her own Worldspell to recreate the lines, but this will do as much damage to the world as the Apocalypse Chime once did.

Eron the Relentless
Once Eron was a thief from Aysen. But then he stole a book of magic from the Baron for Reveka with a very original payment method: A random spell from the book would be cast on him. Eron said he wanted the last spell in the book, which proved a lucky guess: It made him immortal.
With his new powers, Eron conquered the goblin kings and founded the bandit nation of Koskun, which he sustains by bullying Aysen into delivering food to them. To date, Eron has been assassinated 23 times.

Ihsan
Ihsan was once a paladin of Serra who wanted to become a vampire and use his vampiric powers to kill Sengir. The Baron had anticipated the reason why Ishan wanted him to turn him into a vampire, and turned him into a Shade instead. Now Ishan is forced to do the bidding of whomever controls a certain ring. And since that ring is in possession of Sengir, Ihsan has been forced to do many hideous things.
The worst thing in his mind is that the people of Aysen now think him a traitor, instead of their saviour.

No story behind her either, but all evidence points to her being the hero Autumn has been looking for. NOT RAKSHA, GOLDEN CUB (Thanks Caranthir )

Liana of Minorad
Liana was seen for the first time during the gathering of the sages of Minorad. This gathering was rudely interrupted by Ravidel, who threatened them with the Golgothian Sylex. Liana was put by Ravidel under mind control of Ravidels spell squire, the Scarlet Vizier.
Liana couldn’t fight Ravidel, but did whatever see could to obstruct his plans. When the vizier died in the attack on Arathoxia, Liana allied herself with Jared Carthalion and detonated all of Ravidels artifacts.
Ravidel survived however, and fought Liana in the Abbys. He killed her, and got his hand on the Moxen which he needed to create the Beacon that started the Planeswalkers War.

The Scarlet Vizier
This was Ravidels spell squire. He infiltrated House Carthalion for Ravidel to manipulate the lords of Carthalion, but secretly hoping to use the Carthalions power to kill Ravidel. Ravidel might have known about this though, for the Vizier was one of the first to fall when Ravidels juggernauts started to destroy Arathoxia while looking for Jared Carthalion.

Adam Carthalion
The father of Jared and husband to Gwendolyn Mor of Golthondor, to daughter of Grenrall Mor. He wanted to become a planeswalker so he could defeat the great evil that would decent on Corondor in the near future, according to the portents. He wanted it so badly that he even sacrificed his own wife to Ravidel for it, not knowing the Ravidel was the great danger himself, and just wanted to eliminate everyone that could harm his plans. Jared grew up on the streets of Arathoxia, brought up by his fathers spellsquire Ezer. Sixteen years later Ravidel tracked him down and conquered Arathoxia. Jared, with help of Liana of Minorad defeated Ravidel.
Later Jared met Kristina of the Woods, who thought him how to use his magic, and eventually they fell in love.
With the help of Grenfell Mor and Altair of Coloni, the two managed to destroy the Golgothian Sylex, but failed to rescue Liana. What is worse, Ravidel took Liana’s Moxen and erected the Mox Beacon that would start the planeswalkers war.
It is not known if Jared survived the war. Kristina did not speak of him during the Invasion though.

Mirage Wars Characters

Teferi, Planeswalker
A real prankster that attended Barrins lessons on the original Tolarian Academy. He was caught in a time bubble furnace for forty years after the disaster. He was saved from that by Johira. He ascended some time after that.
As a planeswalker Teferi took care of his homeland Zhalfir as the royal mage, but also studied the timelines. These studies went as disastrous as Urzas, since he removed himself from the timeline for a while, which attracted several powerful mages to Jamuraa, and incidentally cause the Mirage Wars. He eventually returned and repaired the timeline. Because this took all of his time he couldn’t directly help the Jamuraan nations, but he did help indirectly by giving the leaders of the army’s visions to guide them.
During the prophecy wars, Teferi decided he no longer wanted to be part of Urza’s plans. When the Phyrexian Invasion started shortly after that, he phased out Shiv, Zhalfir, Suq’Ata and Femefer to save then from the Phyrexians.
Teferi was called back to the timestream by Karona, which got him to think that it might be a good idea to return the phased out lands to Dominiara.

Mangara of Corondor
Trained by Eskil the white, Mangara was an expert politician. He was one of the 3 mages that came to investigate Teferi’s disappearance. When it became clear that this quest would end fruitless, Mangara turned his attention to the squabbling nations of Jamuraa and helped broker peace among them. Zhalfir was so impressed by his abilities that he was awarded with a high political standing. He kept the countries of Zhalfir, Femefer and Suq’Ata out of trouble, and into the Golden Age of Harmony.
But Mangara was imprisoned by Kaervec, who sought to conquer Jamuraa for himself. Trapped in the Amber Prison Mangara couldn’t interfere, until Asimira freed him. Mangara then tracked Kaervec down and defeated him.

Kaervek of the Burning Isles
Kaervek was also attracted to the disappearance of Teferi’s Isle, and he thought he could find a way there to defeat his rivals on Urborg. He found nothing however, and grew jealous of Mangara, who managed to gain control over several countries. For that Kaervec imprisoned Mangara and launched his night stalkers and undead at Jamuraa. He almost succeeded, if Mangara had not been freed. Mangara tracked Kaervek down, defeated him, and then locked him into the amber prison.

Jolrael
Jolrael is one of the oldest surviving Zhalfirin. Generations ago she was a court mage at the royal houses of magic in Ki’pamu, capital of Zhalfir. After enduring the taunts and imposed isolation of her peers, Jolrael forsook humanity and ordered an expedition to take her into the Mwonvuli. Although the thick vegetation forced her companions to turn back, she alone continued. Thought dead by many, she in fact lived off her magic and the wildlife for ages. She rarely emerged out of the forest, the only recorded case being her presence at Queen Yormeba’s coronation.
Until the two foreign sorcerers arrived. She allowed Kaervek to see the wilder reaches of the continent, but was very surprised to find Mangara ruling Zhalfir upon her return. Her natural distrust of humans allowed Kaervek to manipulate her into declaring war on Mangara. But eventually, she overcame that distrust and sensed the truth-Kaervek was only using her to further his ambitions against Jamuraa. She rebelled and attacked Kaervek while they were sailing in the Kukemssa Sea, and although she was knocked unconscious she managed to damage the Urborg mage severely. After Kaervek lost the war, Jolrael retreated to the Mwonvuli once more.
She made a brief appearance during the Prophecy Wars.

Asmira, Holy Avenger
Gifted with supernatural powers of prophecy since an early age, Asmira’s gifts were quickly recognized by Mangara. When Kaervek began to move against Jamuraa, an early harvest was brought in across the land. Asmira cautioned the leadership, saying that it was a sign of war, but in the Femefer church there were a few who believed Asmira’s words, but even more denounced her as a charlatan or power-grabber eager to enhance her own position. Her words were lost on the church, and so Femeref was completely unprepared when Kaervek struck.
When the Council of Voices was eliminated by the Spirit of the Night, Asmira was immediately propelled to power as their successor.
Asmira as a clairvoyant received the clearest of Teferi’s Visions and led the expedition to recover Mangara from the Mwonvuli. Although Purraj of Urborg slew her while she was freeing the imprisoned mage, her memory continued to live on amongst all the people of Jamuraa. She was given the posthumous title of Holy Avenger, for her brave sacrifice.

Rashida Scalebane
After her entire family had been killed by dragons working for Kaervec, Rashida took up the ancient Banesword and vowed to eradicate the beasts. She dropped her surname in honor to the dead, and renamed herself and the sword Scalebane.
Rashida and her followers became the greatest of the Mirage Wars heroes. It was them who accompanied Asimira to Mangara’s prison.

Sidar Jabari
The ruler of Zhalfirs armies. A grounded, sharp man with a diplomatic demeanor, Sidar Jabari led the armies in defending the city of Tefemburu after Sidar Mwigo fell at Ufunguo. With the aid of Hakim, Loreweaver, and other figures he was able to destroy Kaervek’s primary army and save the people of Tefemburu in one fell swoop. After Kaervek’s defeat, he led Zhalfirins against the retreating armies of undead and Viashino.

Telim’Tor
Although ruthless and despotic, Telim’Tor did choose the side of Femefer and Zhalfir when Kaervec attacked. He is one of the great generals of his time, although there are rumours that he managed to receive that title by killing his own brother. Of course, anyone who spreads these rumours will soon be dealt with.

Hivis of the Scale and Zirilan of the Claw
Leaders of the Viashino Scale and Claw tribes from the Great Desert. They where allies of Jolrael and their dragons spread death and destruction across Jamuraa while she was misled by Kaervec.

Hakim Loreweaver
A Suq’Atan storyteller. Hakim is a great historian who collects every book and artifact he can get his hands on, but he can also cast quite a mean spell. He rides an Azure Drake.

Purraj of Urborg
A Cat Warrior from Urborg, and Kaervecs most loyal follower. She loves to dance the Song of Blood. (read: to kill)

Spirit of the Night
The strongest of all nightstalkers. It was this horror that murdered the council of Femefer.

Vizier Qhattib of Amiqat
The ruler of the Suq’Ata government during the wars, Vizier Qhattib was the legislative voice that offsetted Telim’Tor’s military command. His considerable knowledge of the djinns and efreets of Jamuraa can be attributed to his links with the Wildfire plane. Although Qhattib survived the war, he was assassinated by a Breathstealer soon after as the dark clans of Urborg infiltrated his country.

Mtai, Civic Guildmage, Kifimbo, Shadow Guildmage, Panya, Granger Guildmage and Tywanna, Shaper Guildmage
The highest mages in the guilds that make Zhalfir tick.

Talibah, Embermage
A member of the Embermages, a group of powerfull Suq’Atan mage’s that allied themselves with the Djinn and Efreet of Wildfire.

Scout Ekemet
A famous scout. Her final diaries proved crucial in the battle against Kaervec.

Sidar Mwigo of Tefemburu
A hero during the Mirage Wars, who gave her life while buying time for the people of Ufunguo to escape.

Taniwha
A random serpent that was influenced by Teferi’s meddling with the timestream.

Phyrexia.com on Yawgmoth

Rebbec
Rebbec was a Thran woman and the wife of Glacian. She was the one who welcomed Yawgmoth back into Halcyon to heal her husband. Yawgmoth fell in love with her, but she rejected him. And by “reject” I mean “Lock outside of Dominiara”.
She died of Yawgmoths plague cloud shortly afterwards.

Master Artificer and the husband of Rebbec. Yawgmoth was brought back to Haclyon to heal him, after someone had attacked him with a powerstone knife.
Glacian had the spark, which is why Dyfed came to him.

Dyfed
An ancient planeswalker. Dyfed was the one who first showed Yawgmoth the existance of other planes and brought him to Phyrexia for the first time. Yawgmoth later betrayed her after she had betrayed him, and stabbed her trough the skull with a powerstone knife.

Elyssendril Lademmdrith
An elven princess who Yawgmoth infected with a plague. He wanted ransom money for the cure.

Xod
A Tharen healer who was later Phyrexianised.

Brothers War Characters

Mishra
Mishra and his brother Urza accidentally broke the gem stone the was supposed to keep Yawgmoth from entering Dominiara. The two parts of the stone seemed to fill the brothers animosity, and the situation in which they lived helped turn that animosity between brothers into animosity between entire countries.
While the Brothers War raged across Terisiare, Mishra made a deal with the Brotherhood of Gix, servants of Phyrexia. Over time, Mishra was replaced by/turned into a Phyrexian minion. His flesh was kept in Phyrexia, and eventually used to create the newt Xantcha. What had remained of Mishra was a metallic abomination, that lead his troops to a final, cataclysmic battle on Argoth. Urza however, had been given possession of the Golgothian Sylex however, and activated it, which causedthe death of the Mishra-thing, the ice age, the forming of the shard and Urza’s ascension.

Urza
After his ascension Urza befriended the defective Phyrexian newt Xantcha and together they fought against Phyrexia, but where defeated. They wandered the planes for ages after that, until they where rescued by Serra. The Phyrexian followed Urza however and corrupted Serra’s Realm.
After their return to Dominiara, Urza and Xantcha destroy all other sleeper agents on Dominiara, and defeat Gix, the Phyrexian that manipulated Urza and Mishra during their war. Xantcha dies in the process.
Urza encounters Barrin, and together they start the Tolarian Academy. Urza creates KArn and starts experimenting with time travel, hoping to prevent horrors of Phyrexia. This fails, and most of Tolaria is destroyed in the process. A group of Phyrexians is locked in a fast moving time bubble and Urza realizes he accidentally created a new Phyrexian thread to Dominiara.
Urza journeys over the plane in search of help, and finds the Shivan mana-rig. Urza starts building the Legacy. He is imprisoned by Multani, but the Maro-Sorcerer lets him go when he realizes Phyrexia is a much greater thread. Urza builds the Weatherlight, defeats the Phyrexian in the time bubble and the Phyrexians in Serra’s Realm. He collapses the Realm into a power stone and places it in the Weatherlight.
Urza starts his bloodline project to create a human component of the legacy. The component becomes Gerrard.
When the Phyrexian invasion begins, Urza assembles the 9 titans and the coalition forces. He kills Tevesh Szat to power the soul bombs, but then is corrupted by Yawgmoth and even kills Taysir. It takes Gerrard cutting of his head to undo this corruption. Urza’s eyes are taken out of his skull and placed in Karns chest, creating Karn Planeswalker, who will defeat Yawgmoth.

Jarsyl
The child of Harbin. He was just a kid when the Sylex blast destroyed Argoth. Afterwards he became one of the first Terisiaran wizards and even devised a spell to open a portal to Phyrexia. Ratepe had a certain affinity for the Weakstone, and ‘hearing’ its voice, he managed to make Urza think he had found his brother again. Ratepe stayed with him and Xantcha for a year, helping them fight the Phyrexians. Over time, he fell in love with Xantcha.

After the Tolarian Disaster, Jhoira survived on the island, and drunk slow-time water, slowing her aging down to a crawl. She later saved Teferi from his slow-time bubble. Together they became two of the most important members of Urza’s coalition against Phyrexia, stationed on Jamuraa and Shiv.
However, by the time the Invasion itself came, Teferi had had a change of mind. He no longer wanted to a part of Urza’s plans and phased out Zhalfir, Femefer, Suq’Ata and Shiv, taking Jhoira with him.

Phyrexia.com on Teferi
During the Prophecy Wars, Teferi aided the Jamuraans, but while doing so, decided that he no longer wanted to a part of Urza’s plans, and Phased out a large part of Jamuraa and Shiv.
He was later pulled back into normal time by Karona, who was looking for beings similar to her. Teferi saw the world as it was had become and thought that it might be time to return.

Karn
Phyrexia.com on Karn
After bringing Gerrard to Sidar Kondo, Karn stayed around as the boys bodyguard. When Vuel started his rebellion though, Karn was disabled and sold to pay for the mercenaries Vuel needed. Karn went from hand to hand until he was bought by Sisay, who was trying to complete the Legacy.
After Sisay had been abducted, Gerrard returned to ship and found Karn, using his powers as Heir of the Legacy to reanimate the golem. The joy of reunion was short however, for Karn was captured by Volraths forces not much later and put in a flowstone prison that continually shifted, making Karn topple and thus kill the Mogg Goblins that where huddled around him. A monstrous way to torture a pacifist golem.
Gerrard freed Karn later, and together with Hannah, Karn managed to talk the Sliver Queen into releasing the Legacy parts.
Karn played an important part in the Phyrexian Invasion, and was eventually merged with the Legacy, Gerrard and Urza, and became a planeswalker. He constructed his own plane, Argentum, and send probes to Dominiara to study it. One of the probes was broken though, and released vast amounts of energy. After meeting with the being Karona, Karn returned to Dominiara and brought the probe back to Argentum, where he turned it into a golem. The golem was ordered to guard Argentum while Karn took the newly ascended Jeska on a trip around the planes.
Ages later Karn returned to Argentum, only to find it twisted by the golem, who had become insane by Phyrexian influence. Karn turned it back into the probe it had once been and gave it to Glissa and Slobad to guard it. After that he disappeared again.

From that moment one, Multani played an important role in Urza’s plans. It was Multani who provided him with the Weatherseed for example.

During the Invasion, Multani fought for Dominiara and even transplanted Yavimaya to the edge of Urborg, to deliver the final strike to the Phyrexians stationed there. He was trained by Lyanii, but had no interest in being a warrior. Patrick was his son. When Isarrk was old they where attacked by Phyrexians and defeated them, but Patrick died doing so.

A Clan Leader of the Capashan and a descendant of Ellyn. He managed to get the help of Lyanii’s village against the Phyrexian raids on Benalia.

A Keldon Warlord. The first to be interested in Gatha’s bio-engineering.

Invasion Characters

Astor, Doyen Olvresk and Doyenne Tajamin
Phyrexia.com on these characters

Lich Dralnu
An Urborgian Lich Lord who joined the coalition against Phyrexia. He helped commander Agnate during one battle of Urborg, and then performed an ancient warrior's rite, when he washed the Metathran's feet into tar-like liquid. Later Agnate realized that he was infected by the lich's plague - Dralnu wanted to get Agnate into his undead army. He wrote orders for his army to accept Grizzlegom's leadership and then asked the minotaur for ending his misery. So Grizzlegom did - with his axe. Then he went to General Rilgesh, Metathran second-in-command and showed him the orders. Dralnu interfered and accused Grizzlegom from murder. The minotaur suggested the ancient trial - their hands was bound and heads capped. It was onto the Metathran soldiers to decide who to believe - and who to kill. They believed Grizzlegom - and killed Dralnu, hacking his body into small pieces and shattering all phylacteries the lich have in stock to reborn himself.

Agnate
A 7-foot tall Methatrhan soldier. He was created by Urza as a leader of the Coalition Army. He was killed by Dralnu.

Grizzlegom
The leader of the Hurloon forces during the Phyrexian Invasion.

Thaddeus
The other Metathran general Urza created. He was killed by Tsabo Tavoc.

Bo Levar
One of the 9 Titans, Planeswalkers gathered by Urza to fight Phyrexia. Levar was once a smuggler who had ascended in the Sylex Blast. He fought in the Invasion and eventually place his soul bomb on Phyrexia. After that he returned to Dominiara and died protecting a merfolk colony from Yawgmoths Death cloud.

Commodore Guff
A Planeswalker that resided in an infinite library. He was recruited by Urza into the 9 titans, even though he knew that Phyrexia would win the war. When Bo Levar discovered the Guff knew this, he managed to convince Guff that that would be wrong. Guff then hurried back to his library and erased the books that contained the future. Guff did this, until he was killed. It seemed to be that he was killed by Yawgmoths death cloud, but there are also stories about him erasing himself from the books that contained the future.

Lord Windgrace
A cat warrior planeswalker, and an ancient one to boot. Windgrace is realy old school, having been born before that Brothers War, when Urborg was still a lush jungle instead of a swamp. Windgrace was one of Urza’s 9 titans, and with Freyalise the only ones that survived. Windgrace is now in possession of Taysirs centre of conciseness.
Windgrace might be a title that was passed on even after humans took over Urborg from the cat warriors, and thus ended up as the name of Crovax’s family. It could also have been the Lord Windgrace, or one of his descendants had a thing for human-women, which is not unheard off among cat-folk.

Parcher
A planeswalker who got chucked out of the 9 titans because of creative differences. Urza said it was for being insane, but since all planeswalkers are a little light in the head, I like my theory better.

Tsabo Tavoc
Phyrexian.com on Tsabo Tavoc

Rith
One of the Primeval Dragons. Ages ago, somewhere between the Elder Dragon Wars and the forming of the Thran empire, the Primevals Dragons conquered Dominiara. They where eventually defeated by the Numena, who stole their poweres. Rith was imprisoned in an ancient Magnigoth tree in Yavimaya.
Ages later, during the Phyrexian Invasion, Tevesh Szat got Rhammidarigaaz, himself the reincarnation of a Primeval to resurrect the others. Rith was the first to emerge from her prison. She immediate assumed control over Darigaaz and set out to free the other primevals, for if all of them where free, they would form a link of power that would be nearly unbreakable.
After Darigaaz had sacrificed himself the powers of the others waned, and Rith was devoured by the Magnigoth treefolk that had followed her from Yavimaya.

Treva
The second primeval dragon to be awakened. She was imprinsoned in a great library in New Archive. What happened to her after Darigaaz broke the link is unknown.

Dromar
The 3rd primeval dragon to be awakened. Dromar was imprinsoned under the sea, in a tomb build by merfolk, and still guarded by their zombies. It took the death of nearly all the dragon lords to ressurect him. The fate of Dromar after the link was broken is unknown.

Crosis
The final primeval to be awakened. Crosis was imprisoned by the Numena in a tar pit, and was send back there after the link was broken.

Nemata, Grove Guardian and Verdeloth the Ancient
There is some confusion about which of these two is the one Rith was trapped in. Nemate is called the Grove Gaurdian, so it would make sense that he was the one who guarded Riths Grove. Verdeloth on the other hand, looks far more similar to the Magnigoth Treefolk that hunted down Rith. The general consensus is that it was Nemata, and that Verdeloth was just some guy who liked to hang around with Saproling.

Molimo, Maro-Sorcerer
The Maro-Sorcerer of Llanowar. Molimo doesn’t want to have much to do with the rest of the world, but when the Phyrexians came and nearly decimated Llanowar Forest, he didn’t have much of a choice.

Storyless Legends
Their back! We haven’t seen their likes since Alliances, but they’re like Team Rocket: No mather how many times their defeated, they’ll ALWAYS COME BACK.
Kangee, Aerie Keeper (I’m guessing this guy is an early member of The Order)
Reya Dawnbringer (One of the refugees from Serra’s Realm probably)
Cromat (Anyone’s gues)
Atalya, Samite Master (…)

Otaria Characters

Kamahl
Oddesy: Me Kamahl. Me smash in Pit Fights.

Scourge: Me Kamahl. Me try to smash, but puny fellows smash for me. Me no like
Sorry, this was the last Otaria character I did, and I got a bit mellow by all of it.

Jeska
Kamahls sister. She was wounded by him while the Mirari was possesing him, and left to heal by Seton. But Seton was killed by Braids, who took Jeska to the First. He turned her into Phage.
Phyrexia.com on Phage

Balthor Rockfist
A dwarf that was abandoned by his own people, but taken in by the Pardic barbarians. He raised Kamahl and Jeska, and helped them with the Mirari. He got killed by Burke, came back as a zombie, was killed by Kamahl, pulled a Obi-Wan on Kamahl, only to be killed by him again.

Laquatus
The big bad from the Oddesy cycle. Laquatus wanted the powers of the Mirari. He was enevtualy defeated by Kamahl.

The First a.k.a The Cabal Patriach a.k.a. Virot Maglan a.k.a. Calchexas
Virot Maglan killed his wife and children and became a worshipper of the god Kuberr (actually an ancient mage). He founded the Cabal, which was part religious organisation, part evil overlord business and part mafia family.
He wanted Kuberr to be reborn as his and Phage’s child, in which he succeeded, but got killed before he could execute the rest of his plans.

Chainer
Phyrexia.com on Chainer
His secret name was Mazeura.

Skellum
Chainers teacher in the Dementia Powers and an awesome character.

Aboshan
The Cephalid emperor of the Mer Empire. He wanted to conquer all of Otaria and used the Mirari to flood the land, but got killed by the Mirari’s power before he could de anything.

Llawan
The Cephalid empress of the Mer Empire. She replaced Amboshan after he got himself killed, and was the once who started the Riptide Project.

Braids
A Dementia caster for the Cabal, and completely nuts. She brought Jeska to the First and killed the First after Phage gave birth. She survived riding a deathwurm, but died when Karona made the land around her dissapear, forcing Braids to go into her Dementia Space and to fight off all the horrors in there.

Lieutenant Kirtar
Religious extremist bird 1.0. Once of the high commanders of the Order. He wanted to spread his beliefs across Otaria with the Mirari, but got killed by it before he had achieved his goal.

Major Teroh
Religiuos extremist bird 2.0, who replaced Kitar after his death.

Commander Eesha
More liberal religious bird, who replaced Teroh after his death.

Pianna
Once the more liberal leader of the Order, she was killed by Kitar who didn’t like liberals very much.

Seton
Kamahls old pitfighter buddy. Seton is also a high nob among the Krosan centaurs, until Braids killed him.

Thriss, Natuko Primus
an ancient Nantuko somewhere in the depths of Krosan Forest. He tought Kamahl to be a druid.

Burke
Burke was a Dementia creature created by Chainer, and a lackey of Laquatus. He killed Balthor, but the dwarf took him down with him. A tiny piece of Burke remained in Balthors corpse however, and brought him back as a zombie.

Turg
Turg was an Anurid (a big frog) and a lackey of Laquatus.

Akroma
Phyrexia.com on Akroma

Ixidor
His girlfriend got killed while they where pit fighting, and he got banished to the Otarian Desert because he couldn’t pay his debts to the Cabal. There he discovered he had tremendous powers and summoned an entire army, as well as an angel based on his girlfriend Nivea. The army was supposed the get revenge of the Cabal, Phage in particular, but Phage summoned a bunch of Deathwurms who ate Ix. He later reincarnated into Lowallyn.

Karona
Phyrexia.com on Karona

Nivea
Ixidors girlfriend. She got killed by Phage.

Kuberr
The Numen where mages from way back in the day, who first defeated the primeval dragons and took their powers. They where killed in a war that was sparked by Averuu, but Averuu also cast the spell that would make them reincarnate.
Kurbeer was the black Numen and the god of the Cabal. He reincarnated trough the child of Phage and The First. In the end he got killed alongside the other Numen by Karona.

Lowallyn
The blue Numen. He reincarnated trough Ixidor.

Averru
The red Numen. He reincarnated as a city.

Zagorka
A woman on Otaria who wanted to create a refuge, and did so in a bunch of ruins who where actually the reincarnated Averuu. She got killed by Kamahl which creature Karona.

Sash & Wastecoat
Two of Ixidors Unmen, creatures that he could sacrifice to teleport around. They stayed alive after Ix’s death and hung out with Karona for a while, until Karn persuaded them to kill the godess.
(Okay, it's actually Waistcoat, but Waste is more apropriate)

Stonebrow
A centaur. He was an Ixidor worshipper, and later fought against Karona.

Umbra
One of the Unmen. She sacrificed herself to help Sash and Wastecoat escape.

Pemmin
His body was transformed into liquid glass by the mirari energy and the Riptide Project he worked on was overrun by slivers, but Pemmin survived all of that and created a powerfull Aura.

Varv and Furt
You might recognise these stars from flavour texts such as Goblin Lookout and Misguided Rage.
Okay, I only included them because my playgroup thinks they’re the best characters in all of Magic.

Chester
A very big mule. Best character in the entire Ounslaught cycle.

Sliver Overlord
Against all odds, this guy actually developed a story! When the slivers broke out off the Riptide Island, they where drawn to the big battle at the end of Legions. When Kamahl killed Zagorka, Phage and Akroma and the energy that was released created Karona, most of the slivers where fused together into the Overlord. What he did afterwards is unknown.

The Pit Fighter Legends
These guys don’t have much of a story, but its something, so you can’t realy call them storyless. They all fight in the Otarian Pits.
Arcanis the Omnipotent Accoring to the Battlemage game he came from Tolaria. Ofcourse, the rest of the story from that game was absolutely bollocks, but this seems to have stuck. In other news: He has gone to some place (Tolaria?) and doesn’t want anyone else to go there.
Rorix Bladewing (the Risen) Dragon from Shiv, to lazy to rebuilt his home, went to Otaria to become a famous pit fighter, got famous, developed a habit and died. If you’re a pop-artist you releas post-mortem albums, but if you’re a pit fighter, you get resurrected. That’s the bizz for you.
Jareth, Leonin Titan Me big lion guy. Me have no connection to the Mirrodin Leonin.
Visara the Dreadfull Okay, she is actually storyless.
Silvos, Rouge Elemental He was born of the Mirari, thrust out of his homeland before he was even aware. Left without purpose or meaning, he found both in the pits.. Yes I know that’s his litteral flavour text. I said he didn’t have much of a story.

Storyless Legends
2 this time, not counting the Pitfighter legends.
Atogatog (Talk about dysfunctional families)
Mistform Ultimus (I think it was just a legend because he had all creature types. And after Kamigawa he just remained Legendary to avoid eretaing the thing.)

Mirrodin Characters

Glissa
Glissa is an elf that lives on Mirrodin/Argentum. She wanted to uncover the secrets of the world and got visions from time to time. She travelled around the plane for a few time until she discovered that Memnarch wanted to transport her spark into himself so he could become a ‘walker. Glissa killed him before the process was complete, but died in the process.
But she was resurrected by Slobad and the two, accompanied by Geths severed head are now on Argentum, guarding the Mirari.

Slobad
A goblin who used to hang around with Glissa. He got her spark after she and Memnarch died before the spark was completely transplanted. He gave up his spark to resurrect everyone who died on Mirrodin. He is now on Argentum, helping Glissa guard the Mirari.

Memnarch
The reshaped version of the Mirari. He was placed in control of Argentum by Karn, but was turned insane by the Phyrexian Oil and reshaped Argentum into Mirrodin, and brought life to it.
He wanted to become a ‘walker so he could hang out with Karn, and transformed Mirrodin into a spark-transplantation device that used 5 moons as mana sources. He was killed before the spark was fully transplanted though, and was turned back into the Mirari afterwards.

Bosh
A golem that walked around with Glissa. He died heroically.

Al-Hayat
A wolf-thing that walked around with Glissa. He died, and nobody cared. At least, the readers didn’t.

Bruenna
An insanely powerfull wizard chick from Mirrodin. She died during the final battle but was resurrected by Slobad, and then returned to the plane where her people came from, where she was seen making peace with Raksha and Lyese.

Dwugget
Leader of the Krak-Clan. He allied himself with the Virridian Elves and the Leonin against Yert and was probably returned to wherever his people came from at the end of Fifth Dawn.

Geth
Geth was the leader of the Nim zombies that lived in the Mephidross. Until Memnarch send Yert to wage war on the surface world, which started by Geths decapitation and the usurpation of the Mephidorss. Geths decapitated head still lived however, and helped Glissa on several occasions. He stayed on Mirrodin after Slobad send everyone back to where their souls came from, apparently since his soul was in his body and not in his head.

Janus
The highest of the Vedalken, until they dethroned him and founded their republic.

Lyese
Glissa’s sister. She got possesed by Alderok Vetro at a certain point and planted the mana-bomb on Taj-Nar. She was freed of his influence in the end, only to die alongside everyone else on Mirrodin. But she was ressurected by Slobad and send back to wherever the elves came from, where she was seen being friends with Bruenna and forging an alliance with Raksha.

Malil
Memnarchs confidant.

Orland
Newly elected Synod member. He was one of the Vedalken that founded the republic.

Pontifex
A Vedalken lackey of Memnarch. He appeared to be in love with the metal thing 0_0

Raksha
Leader of the Leonin people of Mirrodin. Thanks to Vetro’s manipulations it looked as if he had gone insane and destroyed Taj-Nar, and he was forced to ive in the jungle. After Slobad send everyone on Mirrodin home he was seen making an alliance with Bruenna and Lyese.

Alderok Vetro
A minion of Memnarch with the ability to take over other people. He took over Lyese and made her plant the mana-bomb under Taj-Nar.

Yert
A necromancer from the Mephidross. He was turned into a vampire and Memnarch gave him enough power to overthrow Geth and usurp the Mephidross. He then started a war on the rest of Mirrodin. Glissa killed him by teleporting into him.

Marek
Another goon of Memnarch. He didn’t like Pontifex much and they fought until both of them where dead.

Chunth
Chunth was the leader of the trolls of the Tangle and kept the secrets of Mirrodin, but was killed by the Levelers.

Drooge
Chunth's successor, who gave Glissa the helm of Kaldra, and then probably perished along with the other trolls when Kaldra and Memnarch's army attacked Tel-Jilad.

Ushanti
A leonin seer who saw Glissa responsible for the death of all beings on Mirrodin. Which turned out to be true, but Slobad fixed it.

Kane
Glissa’s boyfriend. He got killed by the levelers.

Yshkar
Raksha’s cousin. He took over command after Raksha was considered insane. He fell in love with Lyese, but we’re not sure if it was mutual. Lyese apeared in love, but she was possesed by Vetro at the time.

Kamigawa Characters

Novel Characters
Michiko
The daughter of Lord Konda. Her father used the spiritual resonance of her birth to bring Kyodai to the mortal-world and imprison her, starting the Kami War. 20 years later Michiko freed Kyodai. The two of them defeated Konda, O-Kagachi and Mochi, thus eliminating (nearly) everyone who wanted to keep the war going. They became the new O-Kagachi, and the Kami War sort of petered out.

Kyodai a.k.a. That Which Was Taken
The “daughter” of O-Kagachi. She was taken from the Spirit-World by Konda and turned into That Which Was Taken, which Konda used to gain immortality. She was later saved by Michiko, her “sister”.

Lord Konda
After defeating most of his rivals, Konda preformed the ritual which imprisoned Kyodai and gave him immortality, thinking that he could rule his lands forever and maintain eternal peace this way. Unfortunately Kyodai’s “father”, O-Kagachi, was the most powerful of spirits and his anger also turned almost all the other Kami blind with rage. Konda had thus started the Kami War.
Twenty years later O-Kagachi and Konda where about to meet in battle, when Toshiba stole That Which Was Taken. O-Kagachi left, and Konda took the spirit-army of the samurai that had fallen in the battle against the master Kami to reclaim his prize. When he got there Kyodai had already been freed. Konda was turned into stone and smashed into a thousand pieces.

Toshiro Umezawa
A very powerful Kanji wizard who got caught up in the climax of the Kami War. The Myojin of Night’s Reach wanted to keep O-Kagachi accupied to keep the barriers between the worlds weak, and enlisted Toshi to keep That Which Was Taken out of the master Kami’s reach. Mochi also wanted the war to continue, but believed that Toshi was to unpredictable, and tried both to aid as to kill him, depending on the situation. Mochi’s fears where well-founded, for Tochi did betray everyone he was working for by giving Michiko That Which Was Taken.
The Myojin punished Toshi by banishing him to Dominiara and blinding him. He survived however and even became the founder of the Umezawa lineage, and thus the ancestor of Tetsuo Umezawa.

Myojin of Nights Reach
The Kami of all black magic. She discovered that while O-Kagachi was distracted and fighting Konda the planar barriers where weak and she could travel across the planes. Thus when O-Kagachi was preparing for the final attack on Eiganjo she enlisted Toshi to keep That Which Was Taken away from O-Kagachi. This turned out to be a mistake, because Toshiba couldn’t be trusted.

Mochi, Kami of the Cresent Moon
A minor kami, but intelligent enough to get out of O-Kagachi’s infectious anger. Mochi wanted to prolong the Kami War until O-Kagachi had completely demolished civilisation on Kamigawa so he and his Moonfolk minions could easily take over. In fact, he was the master or Meloku and Hisoka, both wizards who where present at the ritual that started the war.
When Kyodai was freed, she banished Mochi into the realm of the Oni of All-Consuming Chaos, which isn’t a very nice place.

O-Kagachi
The Great Beast. O-Kagachi was the Kami of all of Kamigawa. He formed the barrier between the spirit world and the mortal world for ages, until Konda breached that barrier and stole his “daughter”, Kyodai. 20 years O-Kagachi sent his Kami to retrieve what was taken from him, but the war became stagnant, and it took O-Kagachi’s personal manifestation in the mortal world to turn the war around.
But he wasn’t successful, as Kyodai was freed and didn’t want to become one with O-Kagachi anymore. Kyodai and Michiko managed to kill him, and become the new barrier between worlds.

Kobo
A former Budoka-monk who wanted more power than his masters could give him. He ran away and ended up as the apprentice to the sadistic ogre Hidestugu. Hidetsugu sent Kobo to follow Toshi on his quest to discover who was trying to kill him. The two where captured by Orochi, and while he was unconscious Kobo was drowned by Choryu, who had been ordered to kill anyone who could hurt Michiko.

Hidetsugu
An old and powerful O-Bakemono, or Ogre Shaman. He was the acolyte of the All-Consuming Oni of Chaos. He lived in the Sokenzan Mountains for many years, until his apprentice Kobo was killed. Hidetsugu then set out to avenge his death by not only torturing Choryu, but also by killing the people who gave him his orders, demolishing Oboro and Minamo, and feeding all his victims to his Oni.
Hidetsugu came into conflict with his former ally Toshi however, and was blinded by Marrow-Gnawer. When his Oni fled for O-Kagachi Hidetsugu surrendered to Toshi. The kanji mage then sent the ogre into the realm of the Oni, where Hidetsugu bested his former master and merged with him.

Choryu
A young wizard with white hair. He was a friend of Michiko and a servant of the Moonfolk and Mochi. He was ordered to keep the princess safe, but after he killed Kobo Toshi brought him before Hidetsugu, who placed a crystal in his chest to keep him alive, and planned to torture him for all eternity. But Toshi felt sorry for the mage and removed the crystal, killing him.

Pearl-Ear
A kitsune who lived in Eganjio for many years. She raised Michiko after Lady Yoshino’s death.

Lady Yoshino

Riko
A student of the old Minamo Academy and a good friend of Michiko.

General Takeno
Konda’s right hand, and one of the people that was present by the ritual that brought Kyodai into the mortal world. He was killed when he jumped in front of Konda and caught a boulder for his lord. But O-Kagachi’s presence warped reality, and brought him and all the other fallen samurai back as spirit warriors. He presumably dispersed after Konda was defeated and the barrier between worlds resorted.

Captain Nagao
A captain in Konda’s army with remarkable survival skills. He led a small group of samurai that was sent to retrieve Michiko from the kitsune village, but was forced to fight a large force of Akki, and was thought to have died. But he in fact survived and later escorted Michiko to Minamo. Unfortunately he was trapped there when Hidetsugu attacked. But he survived even that, and was saved from the All-Consuming Oni of Chaos by Toshi.

Isamaru
The dog of Lord Konda, although he ignores it. He enjoys playing with Michiko and killing Kami or Akki.

Marrow-Gnawer
Lord of the Nezumi of Numai. He killed the leaders of three clans in one night and became their leader.
He was hired by the Moonfolk to do some jobs that would weaken the humans further, but his plans where accidentally thwarted by Toshi. He later became part of the Hyozan Reckoners, basically meaning that he had to help Toshi in exchange for not being frozen by the Yuki-Onna.
Marrow-Gnawer met his end when he blinded Hidetsugu, thinking the Hyozan-spell had been lifted. But it hadn’t and struck back at Marrow, killing him.

Kiku
A wizard-for-hire from Numai. She used to kill with special flowers that would grow roots trough your brain or simply drain your life force, but after the Moonfolk killed the wizards that thought her, she was given tremendous shadow-powers by them to strike back at the moonfolk. The power nearly consumed her, but Toshi took the powers and sealed them in a stone disc. Kiku later broke that disc to access the powers again, but apparently she mastered control over them, for Azusa’s journal tells of an assassin who kills by turning peoples shadows against them.

An old woman who runs most of the human crime in Numai. She used to be Toshi’s boss. She ended up killed when she got involved in the final events of the Kami War trough Toshi.

Hisoka
The headmaster of Minamo Academy. He was a pawn of the Moonfolk and Mochi and was the last person present by the ceremony. His head was bitten off by Hidetsugu when Minamo was invaded.

Myojin of Infinite Rage
The Kami of all red magic. During the final months of the Kami War the Myojin of Infinite Rage gathered his all his worshipers, even though they usually fight among themselves, to launch a large attack against Eiganjo. Seitaro and Shujiro Yamazaki
Twin brothers. They used to be part of Konda’s army but defected to Godo and lead the Myojin’s army against Eiganjo. After that they left Godo’s service to return to their village, where they where greeted by a strange creature which they mistook for a Kami and thus killed. It turned out that this creature was a summoning of their father, who was killed by the backlash created by the creature’s death. The brothers defended their village from the Kami afterwards, and lived to an old age. Something happened during their years of fighting that made them stop talking to one another, but nobody may ask what that is.

Myojin of Life’s Web
The Kami of all green magic and the god worshipped by the Orochi and the Jukai Monks. She had Michiko captured, hoping that her death would end the Kami War. But the princess escaped, and not much later her forest was attacked by the Moonfolk of Oboro.

All-Consuming Oni of Chaos
A terrible demon that exists as an endless swarm of snapping jaws. The All-Consuming was Hidetsugu’s patron Oni, but the Ogre fought and actually defeated his former master after the All-Consuming had fled from battle with O-Kagachi. The Oni and Hidetsugu merged into a new Oni of All-Consuming Chaos, who’s first deed was to massacre Mochi.

Keiga, the Tide Star
The Dragon-Spirit who guarded Minamo. She was killed (as far as spirits can be killed) by Hidetsugu.

Yoshei, the Morning Star
The Dragon-Spirit who defended Eiganjo. He was grievously wounded in battle with O-Kagachi, but did manage to survive and fight the Akki forces of the Myojin of Infinite Rage. He later remained by the ruins of Eiganjo to guard them against further danger.

The Ice Woman. An old and vicious spirit who for ages terrorised a certain area of the Sokenzan Mountians, but she was captured by Toshi, who gave the seal that held her to Hidetsugu, who in turn tricked Godo into unleashing the spirit against the Eiganjo border patrols. She killed many Eiganjo soldiers but, unfortunately for Godo, also many barbarians, until Toshi dealt with her.
