So, I went to my local store yesterday, and got to talking with the owner, who is also a judge. Turned out he had been invited to go play in a shards draft by the wizards distributer in NZ (at least I think that wa the gist if it).
And he offered me a game of magic, using the two draft decks that he had got from it. Cards that I don't think you have that I can remember are: Guardians of Akrasa 2(w) Creature Defender Exalted 0/4 Outrider of Jhess 3(u) Creature exalted 2/2 Cathartic Adept (u) Creature Tap: Target player puts the top card of their library into their graveyard. 1/1 Bone Splinters (b) Sorcery As an aditional cost, sac a creature. Destroy target creature Banewasp Affliction 1(b) enchantment - aura enchant creature When enchanted ceature is put into a graveyard from play, controller loses life equal to its toughness 1(u) creature 2/1 Those are all I can remember, you already know about the 2(u)(g)(w) flying exalted and the pseudo vigilance cerature. Edit: After looking at the name and number crunch (and some posts further down) I have updated with the names of some of the cards. And the 1/1 exalted creature wrecked me many times in those games Last edited by Stuckey : 09-22-2008 at 01:03 AM. |

tx for posting
Boneshards or whatever looks sort of like a bad Innocent Blood. Well I guess not really. I really like the Defender exalted guy! The exalted is synergistic with its butt. Although he's not that great. Decent tho. Outrider is depressing. ![]() Graveworm Infestation - isn't there a card in one of the earlier sets that's exactly like this? Edit: Oh it's creaure bond is what i was thinking of. Then I saw Death Watch...

The Defender Exalted is surely interesting. The blue Exalted guy is something I can't quite evaluate either, I have no idea how the mechanic will play out.
The blue 1/1 is bad, but then again, who would expect anything else from a 1/1 for 1? The Boneshards would have been so much better had it been an instant, but if you're desperate for removal from your opponent's bombs you could play it. Or of course you can use it in conjunction with Unearth. Thinking of that makes me like it. Unearth -> attack -> survive (who's going to block an unearthed creature?), then sacrifice it before the remove from game trigger to kill his best dude and then being able to unearth it again The aura is really really bad, but I guess it does counter the daru spiritualist/en-kor combo A 2 mana blue 2/1 artifact creature is some very good filler for blue. Thanks for the cards!

Well, it's not new Innocent Blood, but it does have its uses - after all, you can choose the creature to destroy. Though you can't cast it without creatures on your side, and you can't hit creatures with Shroud, and it's a Sorcery... Hmm...
I also really like Defender with Exalted. Especially 0 power Defender. So elegant. |

Thanks!
The correct names are Bone Splinters, Banewasp Affliction and Outrider of Jhess (from the Alara Explorer). Good to have another few slots filled up! Last edited by Caranthir : 09-22-2008 at 05:55 AM. Reason: Infestation -> Affliction |

What's the point of a exalted 2/2 for 4, when we already have a exalted 2/2 for 2, with first strike ? Do we miss something ?

Creature Tap: Target player puts the top card of their library into their graveyard. 1/1 Screeching Sliver but worse |

Bone Splinters is perfect with Thrinax or any leaves play creatures.
The other exalted creatures seem to work. The wall is perfect for it. Banewasp Infestation looks REALLY nasty, especially against treefolk.

2 more cards that I remembered:
3(g) creature Shroud Whenever a creature is put into graveyard from play, you may put a +1/+1 counter on it 1/1 And one which doesn't fit with your spoiler (minion Mirror) (what the opp was calling it) 5 artifact Whenever a creature comes into play under your controll, you may pay (2). If you do, put a token into play that is a copy of it with haste and sac at EOT. However, that one doesn't fit with your spoiler so I am unsure. But I did think it was an artifact. And thanks for the correct names |

This is common, and is blue, so it's far less efficient than the Paladin.

Ugh. More bland filler, apart from the black kill spell. Perfectly limited playable (apart from possibly the aura), but mind-wrenchingly dull to look at. Thanks though! |
