Default Here I Rule?

Has anyone seen http://www.hereirule.com/? I can't really tell what it is, but it looks like it could be related to Clash of Planeswalkers which they said was supposed to help bring in new players...

Then came the big info for the night – WotC’s newest marketing initiative. The newest brain child of Wizards is “Here I Rule”. This advertising bonanza will kick off next month so hold on as Wizards, yet again, tries to make Magic appealing to the skateboarding Gen Y (or is it X or Z or Q – I lose track) segment of the population.

Dunno about the States, but it's been advertised in print media on this side for the last couple of months. It's just a new ad style, nothing to report really.

It is also a sponsored link from Gamefaqs, with regards to the character battles they are having there.

Here I Rule - sounds lame.

Default Wizards giving away free cards!

Was browsing GameFAQs.com when I came across an MTG banner ad. Out of curiosity, I clicked it and ended up here.

http://www.hereirule.com/

Probably nothing worthwhile. Just started today (11/10/08), and ends 12/31/08...I put my name in just for fun.

I saw that site before but the free deck thing is new. It'll prolly be those crappy "decks" with the pic of a planeswalker on it. *shrug* Free cards are free cards.

There are something money can't buy. For everything else there's Magic: The Gathering.
Vampires and planeswalkers walk through time unchanging, sometimes unfeeling. Unlike my sig thanks to spiderboy4 of High~Light Studios!

They paid for an ad on GameFAQs. I don't know any scammers who would have enough money/want to spend the dough to do that just to collect email and mailing addresses...

Card prices are not determined by what SCG sells them for, what your local store sells them for, or what you think they're worth.

Considering that it redirects to wizards.com, I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes.

I signed up for it just to get free cards. It isn't anything special I am sure. The Official Terms state:
Quote:
What Do I Get? Every Eligible Customer will receive a Magic: The Gathering card deck (Approximate Retail Value: $5 USD) (“Gift”). The cards are meant to enable game play. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a Gift of equal or greater value, in the event that it is unable to award any of the Gifts advertised herein. OFFER SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF GIFT AND WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. LIMITED TO ONE GIFT PER ELIGIBLE CUSTOMER.
So it probably a 40 card deck with one or two junk rares and the rest just basic stuff to learn the game and play.

Great find! Do you think you get the same cards if you checked that you heard of MTG before? I lied and checked that I've never heard of it before just in case it was a requirement to get new cards.
